In northern Mali´s war,
al-Qaeda affiliate is

DIABALY, Mali — Most of the rebels who took over this central town for five days this month were Malian and spoke the local languages of the north and the south. But their commanders were different, local residents said. They were foreigners who spoke Arabic. Six bodyguards protected the most senior commander with the gray-speckled beard and black turban. The Islamist militant ate Algerian-made spaghetti and Mauritanian-made canned tomato sauce. Malian fighters only served as his translators or brought him intelligence reports.

Typical idiot Obama supporter comment from andrewparkerjr. after the article. To clear and hold towns you need a lot more troops than what the French and Africans are sending. This will turn guerilla and ugly.

Propaganda Alert !!! The Mali invaders were billed as Arab Spring democracy seekers 2 years ago... as elsewhere, it was just another Obama enabled Muslim Brotherhood invasion into Mali.

The good news? Now France, the UK & others know what side of history Obama is on. China, Russia & India have known all along that Obama is simply enabling an African continent Caliphate. Now the EU & UN know.

France has it´s fair share of faults but their intervention in this is praise worthy.Obama is probably getting blowback in this country from Islamists to reel France in.

But yeah, cutting our marines while giving Egypt billions in aid and weapons to attack Israel seems unbelievable until you consider Obama´s in charge and desperate for money to finish this country off.

GOP principles present
dilemma on illegals’ rights
Washington Times, by Stephen Dinan    Original Article

House Republicans’ new immigration principles may have complicated the politics of the issue for Democrats and immigrant rights advocates, who may end up having to choose between holding out for citizenship for most illegal immigrants or accepting a less-generous bill that could pass Congress this year. The principles, released at a GOP retreat last week, call for most illegal immigrants to get some legal status, but stops short of the sort of citizenship guarantee on which Democrats have insisted for years. Now, President Obama and his allies face the dilemma of either breaking their own principles or holding firm and

With an immigration deal

New momentum in Congress for a broad overhaul of border-control laws has prompted White House allies to demand that President Obama halt deportations of millions of illegal immigrants, many of whom would be allowed to remain in the country under a legislative deal. The advocates, including the AFL-CIO and pro-immigration groups, argue that Obama should use his executive authority to expand a 2012 decision that halted deportations of young people brought to the United States illegally by their parents. The administration’s aggressive approach to enforcement — which has resulted in nearly 2 million deportations during Obama’s tenure — makes little

Washington – President Barack Obama´s approval rating has edged up a bit since the end of last year, according to a new national poll. But a CNN/ORC International survey also indicates the number of Americans who hope that his policies will succeed has dropped 12 points since last year and a majority now predicts that his policies will fail. According to the survey, which was released Monday, 45% of the public gives Obama a thumbs-up on the job he´s doing as President. That's up from 41% in November and December, when the President was at or near all-time lows in polls from CNN and other organizations.

For a candidate who owes her name recognition to a friendly media, Wendy Davis is having trouble not riling up the local press. Dave Mann of the Texas Observer writes that the extent to which her team is botching media relations is "the worst ... I´ve ever seen," an embarrassment weakening her candidacy. Mann initially admits that he is not a media relations specialist, but has covered a large number of political campaigns. Davis´s, he says, holds the record for absolute worst, and it threatens to sink her entire campaign. Attributing the follies to inexperienced, young media flacks, Mann nonetheless

Nineteen veterans diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and 2011 died because the Department of Veterans Affairs failed to conduct medical screenings in a timely fashion, CNN reports. VA documents obtained by the network linked these veterans’ deaths to long-term delays in the system that impeded their receiving timely diagnoses and treatments. The 19 veterans are part of a larger group of 82 veterans who have died, are dying, or have suffered serious injuries because of the delays. One man, Barry Coates, was repeatedly told that he “may need a colonoscopy,” but only after calling the department and setting up an

But despite all that, it took him until Sunday night to look truly helpless. Like he was staring at something even he, the most prepared quarterback in NFL history, couldn´t navigate. It seemed like the quarterback who had always thought of everything had nothing left. The Seattle Seahawks wrecked Manning and his historically spectacular offense to win Super Bowl XLVIII, 43-8, in one of the biggest blowouts in the history of the league´s biggest game.

The abortion rate in the United States dropped to its lowest point since the Supreme Court legalized the procedure in all 50 states, according to a study suggesting that new, long-acting contraceptive methods are having a significant impact in reducing unwanted pregnancies. There were fewer than 17 abortions for every 1,000 women in 2011, the latest year for which figures were available, according a paper published Monday from the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion-rights think tank. That is down 13 percent from 2008 and a little higher than the rate in 1973, when the Supreme Court handed down its landmark Roe

Tens of thousands of people who discovered that HealthCare.gov made mistakes as they were signing up for a health plan are confronting a new roadblock: The government cannot yet fix the errors. Roughly 22,000 Americans have filed appeals with the government to try to get mistakes corrected, according to internal government data obtained by The Washington Post. They contend that the computer system for the new federal online marketplace charged them too much for health insurance, steered them into the wrong insurance program or denied them coverage entirely. For now, the appeals are sitting, untouched, inside a government computer. And

With his new emphasis on creating government policy through executive fiat, President Obama is betting he will fire up his Democratic base more than he will infuriate Republican voters in this year’s midterm elections. Democrats increasingly are abandoning their dream of winning back the House in November. Even Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said last week that she can’t “confidently predict” it. But the president needs Democrats to hold on to the Senate, where a swing of six seats would give Republicans control, to have any hope of achieving more of his policy goals and reshaping

Almost $3 million came from donors who gave $200 or less each. The largest donor, Cary Katz, CEO of College Loan

Benenson said the widening gap between rich and poor is "a real issue in America"; however, CS Monitor says Obama´s pollster "doesn´t think Americans resent people at the top who have done well--as long as the playing field is level." President Barack Obama sat down with Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly for a pre-Super Bowl interview, a reprise of the Q&A the two did before the 2011 game, and Obama’s sixth straight pre-Super Bowl interview. O’Reilly grilled Obama on why Kathleen Sebelius had not been fired, noting that he as a taxpayer was paying her salary, and also asked if Obama thought the “If you like your plan you can keep your plan” claim was his “biggest mistake?” Obama responded to both queries by arguing that the implementation of the Affordable Care Act was an ongoing process, and he was committed to

It seems as though just about every television show, whether comedy or drama now has a gay character as a regular. It´s not surprising that homosexuality has become mainstream in our culture because nearly everyone has a relative or friend who is gay and we have been deeply influenced by those words of Harvey Fierstein who said, "I just want to be loved. As the commentary around the recent deaths of Nelson Mandela, Amiri Baraka and Pete Seeger made abundantly clear, most of what Americans think they know about capitalism and communism is arrant nonsense. This is not surprising, given our country’s history of Red Scares designed to impress that anti-capitalism is tantamount to treason. In 2014, though, we are too far removed from the Cold War-era threat of thermonuclear annihilation to continue without taking stock of the hype we’ve been made, despite Harry Allen’s famous injunction, to believe. So, here are seven bogus claims people make about communism and capitalism. 1. Only
