| The liberal New Republic, which is periodically described as the in-flight magazine on Air Force One for Democratic presidents, has just released the transcript of an interview with Barack Obama as he looks ahead to the next four years.[Snip]It paints a portrait of a president, in his own words, who appears deeply partisan, sneeringly dismissive of his political opponents, bitterly angry at his adversaries for standing in the way on issues such as the budget, and completely lacking in any humility. If this is Obama at the start of his second term, one can only imagine what he´ll be like

Comments: Bitterly clinging to his policies and diktats, copied from those which have failed and are failing in the UK and Europe.

I skimmed the article in the New Republic and there seemed to be a great deal of bloviating (as usual). I can faintly hear the theme from ValJar that he just has not explained his agenda so that normal stupid Americans can understand it. Meanwhile the Obama for Advancing America Forward to Communism team is waiting in the wings to be unleashed. This W.H. seems to think that all it takes is the correct dose of Propaganda and all will be achieved. How rock bottom foolish is that?

Re: "Barack Obama’s imperial tone is badly out of tune with the pessimistic mood of the country, and does not augur well for the next four years."
The country´s pessimism will only going get worse as all of Obama´s first and second term policies and regulations reduce our living standards, eliminate jobs and create enormous resentment between those who receive welfare and those struggling to survive on their reduced paychecks. Perversely, more we decline domestically and internationally, the more that we will see and hear of the Obamas, stoking further resentment and pessimism. Today´s laughable story on Obama´s skeet shooting at Camp David will be followed by tales of his hunting exploits, his skinning of deer, his mountain climbing, Kenyan safaris and sky diving. He will surely be the most accomplished, most rugged bisexual to ever occupy the WH.

I´ll be in the minority with this view, but here goes: I think he´s increasingly bitter and hostile because he didn´t want to be re-elected. Lord knows he gave plenty of cues, offering up so many sound bites for the GOP to use against him that I could conclude only that he was either entirely clueless or was intentionally trying to get fired. I think it´s the latter. Being president is real work (not that he shows that) and people outside the kingdom of D.C. actually expect you have, you know, a plan and stuff. To constantly take a defensive tone, to pick issues that are instantly divisive ... yes, it´s arrogant, but it also suggests someone who´s saying, "Don´t you get it, people? I suck at this!" At least he may have stumbled on a way to eventually unite the country: make such stupid decisions and attacks that everyone, including all of Congress, ends up hating him by 2016.

In the New Republic article….”..The House Republican majority is made up mostly of members who are in sharply gerrymandered districts that are very safely Republican…”
Gerrymandered because the liberals have insisted that there be districts so heavily black that a black congressman was a certainty. That was originally because it was it was said by blacks they could only be represented by persons of their own color. Gerrymandered black districts result in ‘gerrymandered’ white districts by default.

The man has set himself up as god since he first entered the picture and has had the praises of 95% of the media. His life is a mockery against God. But I take tremendous comfort in the Bible passage: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man sows, that will he also reap." I wait, O Lord, for your judgment against this abomination.

#15, I had similar thoughts. My conjecture was that the Mooch wanted Obama to go for a second term and he had had enough. That, I suspected, caused a tantrum resulting in that notoriously expensive European tour with her friends while Obama was left to celebrate his birthday with his friends. ("See? I don´t need you--I can have lunch with a king and queen whenever I feel like it.")

He thought he would be free at last free of his pretend marriage, free of the criticism he feels he shouldn´t be subject to from the right, free from having to act like he cares. He knows the gun thing is a no win for the Democrats. And now he is expressing his thoughts about football which is so ridiculous. He wants to get back with Reggie and have a big fat pension and armed bodyguards and he can whatever he wants. He´s mad as heck that he has to be president but who knows? He might be set free

Yet all I heard was that she had done a wonderful job, etc. WHY are Republicans such fools? Remember when McCaine refused to use the middle name Hussein? When Romney went on and on about how Obama was such a nice man but out of his depth. HE IS NOT A NICE MAN except maybe to his family!

Obama is the product of a low IQ,low common sense electorate, who´s more interested in obama as a celebrity than president.
Unemployed liberals think it´s just a matter of time before Obama gets around to creating a dream job for them.In the meantime, they´ll just lounge around the folks house, eat their food and burn their electric.
I´d love to know how many parents can´t get their lazy assed kids out of the house to look for a job. The convenient excuse is there´s none out there.
Jobs have never been easy to find and employers aren´t going to knock on your door.
The left is laying the groundwork to write a new constitution in the next several years. If you want to know what it would look like read kenya´s new one which is pure utopianism.Of course it´s totally impracticable in a backward country like that but it exposes their mindset.

A senior Eurocrat sparked outrage last night after calling for the phrase “illegal immigrant” to be banned from the European Union.[Snip] She has instructed EU Commission staff to refer to foreigners who break border control laws as “irregular migrants” or simply “people” instead. But her attempt to dictate how the issue of immigration is discussed was savaged last night. His house, his booze, his drugs, his women and his 17 children were paid for by a benefits system meant to be a safety net for the truly needy.[Snip] This was one of the most horrible crimes committed against children in Britain in recent years. It was cynical. It was calculating. And it was done out of malice in a ham-fisted plot which went wrong. The trial spoke volumes about the sheer nastiness of the individuals involved. The team found that being left alone to breed on its own was key. The discovery raises hope that other damaged reefs could ´regenerate´. The new research shows that an isolated reef off the northwest coast of Australia that was severely damaged by a period of warming in 1998. It was hit by coral bleaching, caused by higher water temperatures that break down the coral´s symbiotic relationship with algae that provide food for coral growth.

As the US and China grow increasingly involved, Kim Jong-un must be brought into line if war is not to be triggered by an act of recklessness. There are two schools of thought about what lies behind North Korea’s increasingly frenzied posturing. The first goes like this: the rhetoric emanating from Pyongyang--including calls to “break the waists of the crazy enemies [and] totally cut their windpipes”--is no worse than their decades-old ritualistic promises to turn South Korea into a “sea of fire”. What we are witnessing, according to this theory, is nothing more than an inexperienced leader

Anyone who remembers the halcyon dreams of the 1990s, of civil society spreading the world over, heralding a new peaceful, global millennium, must marvel at the path the young 21st century has taken. Even those who paid attention to global Jihad before the millennium could not imagine how vulnerable the West would prove in the coming, wildly asymmetrical war. Those who, over the course of the last 13 years, have awakened to the ever-growing danger of Islamism and to the astonishing inability of decent people--Muslims and non-Muslims--to effectively oppose its aggressions, owe themselves a brief lesson in cognitive warfare, and

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that
