Until Monday´s inaugural address, that is. Where has everyone been these four years? I get a little misty, remembering when a POTUS was proud to represent ALL The People, not just his miscreants. When Obama trashes congress, he trashes the peeps they represent. When he trashes the NRA, he trashes the peeps they represent.

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, took in $26,400 in 2012 by renting a cottage on the property of their Delaware home to the Secret Service, tax records released by the White House revealed. They netted $17,944 of that rental money. The arrangement under which the vice president charged the Secret Service personnel for staying on his Delaware property was first reported by The Washington Times in 2011. The 2012 payouts were part of the $385,072 in adjusted gross income the Bidens reported to the IRS in 2012, according to their 2012 tax returns.

3,000 people have joined Facebook group "Maggie´s Good Riddance Party", which claims it will hold a "right jolly knees up" outside St Paul´s on the day of Baroness Thatcher´s funeral. The protesters wish to "get their money´s worth" from the funeral, which will be paid for in part by the state. Those attending include a civil servant at the Department of Work and Pensions, a carer and a branch leader of the National Union of Students. Some warned of "civil unrest". Now, I will be honest with you about what I wrote back, before knowing anything. I mean, I´m aware of the latest, the proposed filibuster and all the debate arguments pro and con. I know what the Democrats want. They want to get guns out of the hands of everybody that´s got them legally. I know the drill. You do, too. I don´t care what they say. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87. The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend. Petro said Winters died of natural causes and was surrounded by family and friends. Winters was a pioneer of improvisational standup comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy.
