NRA boycott kills
outdoors show that
banned assault weapons

Washington Examiner, by Paul Bedard

A massive boycott sparked by the NRA and other gun-rights groups outraged that the nation´s largest outdoors show banned the exhibition of assault weapons has caused the show´s organizers to abruptly cancel the week-long event in Harrisburg, Pa. The successful boycott was the biggest demonstration of support by the outdoors industry and outdoorsmen yet against gun control efforts being pushed in Washington and in several states. "Reed Exhibitions has decided to postpone, for now, the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show given the controversy surrounding its decision to limit the sale or display of modern sporting rifles

Living in this Central PA area (30 miles away) I can tell you this was a HUGE event for everyone from exhibitors to vendors to attendes.

I am proud that the industry and allies pulled out because of the organizer´s infantile actions!

Now, why are the Brits running the show anywho???

It wasn´t just the NRA. I have read that upwards of 300 vendors withdrew in protest. I don´t think the NRA has the kind of clout to force that if the vendors weren´t inclined to do so. Its not like the NRA is a union or anything.

NRA had little to do with this (I am a lifetime member).

It was many dozens of vendors (including the likes of Cabelas) that took a stand and pulled out.

This show has been going on since 1955.

Will some of you please post a link to a credible news story that the little punk did not use an AR15.

Maybe, in looking at the example Detroit has set as the first major American city to file for bankruptcuy, the United States government will finally see more clearly what debt can do when politicians avoid reality. Detroit was once America’s queen city of manufacturing. That began going away decades ago, not because of bad calls by government, but because of changes in the national and international economies. The rich moved to surrounding suburbs, the poor stayed put and politicians had to decide what to do. Some of what they came up with was pretty bad.

There´s a movement among Capitol Hill Republicans to defund Obamacare. With the president´s hugely expensive national health care scheme set to take effect Jan. 1, many of the law´s opponents view this fall´s battles over spending and the debt as the last chance to stop it, specifically by cutting off funds for its implementation. But Republicans will not stop Obamacare. They won´t defund it. Their last chance to put an end to it was the 2012 election. They lost, and the chance is gone.
