Colin Powell: Latent Democrat?
Washington Examiner, by Gregory Kane

Original Article

Posted By:Vastrightwingconspirator, 1/23/2013 11:58:28 PM

Recently the former secretary of state -- rumored to be a Republican -- has been quite vocal in criticizing his own political party. In no way am I saying Republicans are above criticism and do everything right. But there´s something about Colin Powell´s recent attacks that sound so, so, well, so Democratic National Committee-ish. Take, for instance, this gem: "There is a dark vein of intolerance in this party. They still sort of look down on the minority." Sounds ominous, no? And it sounds like the refrain we heard from Democrats throughout the 2012 presidential campaign

We need fewer Colin Powells and more Stanley McChyrstals, more real men. Powell bites the hand that feeds him, namely the Republicans. There is nothing sorrier than a retired "minority" general whining about affirmative action, except a "minority" president whining about the same.

IMO Colin´s problem is trust. He trashed his boss, Bush, and the GOP. Both had treated him very well. People noticed.

I can´t believe top Democrats will be dumb enough to ever give him any important position or task.

The Republican´s sure won´t. So he can only court the Democrats.

He is on the outside looking in. I think he will be kept there.

Another pretend Republican who had to show his true colors and support brother Obama if he was to have any chance to keep being invited to liberal dinner parties and not be referred to in some black circles as an "Uncle Tom".

He was godfathered on his way up by George H. W. Bush who was fooled by a lot of liberals.

Colin Powell endured decades of the unbelievable left-wing psychological abuse that Democrats heap upon any and all black people who identify as Republicans.

He was constantly called an "Uncle Tom," "House Ni**r," "Sell-out," and told he wasn´t really black.

Barack Obama´s election allowed Powell the opportunity to escape this abuse. Now he parrots whatever party line bilge the Democrats want him to sling in order to cement himself on the side of the Left as well as continuously ingratiate himself with those who heaped such hatred and abuse on him.

This isn´t bravery. It´s craven cowardice.

But, hey, that´s why Democrats employ psychological abuse. That´s how they keep Black America in line.

How I long for the day when Black America is actually free, both physically and mentally, and able to choose for themselves on the basis of ideas and values, rather than being chained to the Democrat Party´s never-ending Plantation Politics.

Made me laugh, #3. Hard to do these days.
Colin always puts me in mind of two songs from the distant past: "The Back-Stabber" and "I´m in with the In Crowd." The DC in crowd is definitely Dem and the opportunistic Powell feels quite comfortable there, especially since O is "The Leader of the Pack." I can imagine him bristling with resentment under the patronage of patrician Pappy Bush and would not doubt that he has been a double agent for the Dems for a long time.

If a true Republican, Powell would have defended the party against the alleged racist statements and noted the minorities in the party, especially those that spoke at the Convention and are poised to lead the party. Instead, he caried Obama´s water on the racism charges. Very disappointed to see him join the partisans and play the race card.

Colin Powell lost any credibility he had when his assistant, Richard Armitage, leaked the identity of Valerie Plame. Powell agreed to keep silent while he sat by and watched Patrick Fitzgerald went after numerous Bush Administration personnel. Powell is a turncoat and a disgrace to our nation that he ever served as a general.

Powell knows better than any non-black person that 99% black voters will always vote for a black Democrat, just like he did. You cannot blame black voters for basing their vote on the color of a candidate´s skin rather than for the content of the candidate´s character.

Powell needs to drop his claim of intolerance by the Republicans. Powell is intolerant of many Republicans. He may be pro-gay, pro-abortion, pro-gun control and pro-Obama. Some of us have different views.

Americans who are fed up with Obamacare won a victory yesterday. The House voted to defund Obamacare while still funding the federal government to avoid a “devastating” shutdown. It was an overcast, albeit relatively mild August day by Washington D.C. standards, fifty years ago today, as I joined the thousands walking along Constitution Avenue toward the Lincoln Memorial. Many of those in the crowd who had traveled vast distances by busses and cars from all over the nation, but in particular the deep South, had a look of apprehension bordering on fear, not knowing what to expect from the police and those vehemently opposed to unfettered civil rights.
