Clinton´s Testimony & Case
for More Embassy Security

International Business Times, by Joanne Butler

Secretary of State Clinton’s testimony Wednesday is really about the need for more funding to physically strengthen United States embassies. As a penny-pinching Republican, you might be surprised to learn I think this is a good idea. Having worked with a former Iranian U.S. hostage from 1979 -- the Canadians smuggled him out -- and a lucky U.S. foreign affairs officer who happened to be in a meeting elsewhere when our embassy in Kenya was blown up in 1998, this matter is personal to me. And when I think what it was like working at the U.S. House on Sept.11, my feelings grow that much

What´s the point of us having a consulate in a war zone like Benghazi?
Isn´t that like the Libyans having a consulate in a war zone like Chicago?

If you want to go to work for the government, just go ahead and do it, but you´d better understand that none of the people in Washington, of any strip, color or party, really give a damn about about you any ore than they do the people who are footing the bill. If there´s any money, power or prestige for them attached to some event, you can bet they´ll shoot the legs out from under you in a heartbeat just to be able to obtain it. That´s how it all really works.

The money was never a factor in the decisions made. That was admitted by the State Dept. not long after the attack.

That fact makes this article suspect from the "git go".

They have the money but chose to spend it on parties and waste. So now they want more money. No thanks on that deal

#8,most of us thoought the marines were armed guards. but the reality is that they are mostly symbols of security, with unloaded weapons.
And hillary said something was was truthful, among her lie, and here it is.
The u.s. embassy folks are really at the mercy of the host country. but the additional truth to that is that we never should have our embassy folks in an unstable country. That is just plain stupid, with lots of wishful thinking by the U.S. added in.
The brits bailed out of benghazi, as did the international red cross. perhaps hillary missed out on that critical information while she was doing wine tasting in various countries.
No one was in charge at State. No one!
And that Board that investigated the benghazi mess didn´t interview Hillary!
Why not? Hillary said that if the Board thought she could add information to their findings, they would have requested an interview with her! How crazy is that??

Will this continue throughout Obama´s presidency! He has caused more turmoil and discontent than all the previous occupants of the White House.

Seems the only sin for the Libs is "getting caught"!

Obama has continually done all he is able to, knowing exactly what he is doing, to destroy America.

Congress needs to stand up for righteousness, not political-correctness!

Hillary may think she got by today, but her day is still ahead of her when God has the last word and she won´t like it. He knows the truth and mostly, He knows her heart/mind/soul/spirit!

Congress, the White House as well as the Judiciary all need to know that they are supposed to represent US, their employer and the one who pays their salaries!

Prayer alone is our own salvation, knowing God hears and will act when we sincerely, humbly come to Him for His intercesson.

Obama may think he is above the law, but God is still sovereign and He will have the last word. Amen (So be it) The sooner the better!

An Easier Fix for Medicare

The latest Republican pronouncements on saving Medicare, via Rep. Paul Ryan’s upcoming budget plan, reminds me of a Roger Rabbit cartoon -- characters careening around, some just missing the vat of acid, others not. Last year, certain Republicans told us if you were 55 or older, your Medicare benefits would be “safe,” but today’s rumors revise that age to be upward of 57. I can smell that vat of acid getting closer. But there’s a much easier way to reduce Medicare costs. Honestly, it won’t hurt a bit.

Back in the 1980s, a friend of mine was laid off from a defense contractor. That night he unplugged the cable box to his TV — to send his family a message that things were going to be tough for a while. I suggest that, especially in light of the sequester, the federal government follow my friend’s example and get busy pulling the plug on unnecessary televisions and cable TV contracts.

From my perch in Delaware, I can only marvel at how faded pols suddenly become white-hot in the blink of an eye. Take former Senator Chuck Hagel, for instance. I met him once back in 1999, early in his first Senate term. I’ve met many politicians in my career, but I won’t soon forget that afternoon in Hagel’s office.

Via America Rising and the IJR, is this the key that finally unlocks the enigma of Harry Reid, tinpot demagogue? Maybe, from moment to moment, this guy just … doesn’t realize what’s coming out of his mouth. Hard to believe he could forget saying on the Senate floor that all ObamaCare horror stories — all of them — are a GOP/Koch brothers fairy tale designed to besmirch the stellar reputation of the Affordable Care Act. Those remarks got heavy coverage in conservative media, and even got picked up at WaPo. You don’t toss a grenade that powerful without choosing your

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas. Some of these methane emissions come from

Brooks’ office: Dear Congressman Brooks, As a practicing family physician, I plead for help against what I can best characterize as Washington’s war against doctors. U.S. President Barack Obama and Pope Francis met Thursday for the first time at Vatican City, offering a chance for a reset of sorts between the administration and Catholic leadership following years of strained relations. The two world leaders greeted each other with a smile and a handshake, and posed for pictures before sitting down across a table from each other. The goal of the meeting: Focus on areas where two of the world´s most influential men agree and gently tread ground where they differ. The President and the Pontiff will, as the White House said in a statement, focus on "shared commitment

When Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope Francis a little more than a year ago, the first thing that struck those who knew him well was his unexpected, beatific smile. “In Argentina, he didn’t smile like that,” Sergio Rubin, the pope’s biographer, said this week at a conference sponsored by the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “That was the big surprise.” Since then, the pope has mostly kept on smiling — in homilies, in audiences, in meetings with the homeless and the poor. If you look at the pictures from Francis’ meeting with President Obama on Thursday, though, the smile is there only some of the time.

One by one, the myths of the Affordable Care Act have been revealed. When the curtain on open enrollment falls on March 31, the last remaining big myth of ObamaCare will be fully exposed: The individual mandate has failed. After a last-ditch effort with President Obama himself encouraging "young invincibles" to sign up before the deadline, the administration is scrambling to boost enrollment. On Tuesday, the White House announced that people who applied for coverage on the federal health-insurance exchange will have until mid-April to finish the paperwork. The mandate was supposed to be the administration´s magical elixir for the assorted shortcomings

More than six million Americans have now signed up for private insurance under the Affordable Care Act, according to the White House, with just four days to go until the end of its first open enrollment period. While traveling in Italy on Thursday, President Obama shared the news in a conference call with thousands of health-care navigators and volunteers helping enroll people on state and federal marketplaces. As the volume of consumers seeking health plans has surged -- there were over 1.5 million visits to HealthCare.gov Wednesday and more than 430,000 calls to the marketplaces´ call centers -- Obama urged those on

Their target is the GOP, but they are not angry liberals bent on destroying it. They are reform-minded Republican leaders intent on strengthening it. These Republicans are applying conservative principles to 21st-century challenges, focused on middle-class concerns like lowering costs and improving access to college, modernizing health care and reforming the tax code. They aim to broaden prosperity´s reach through markets and merit, not government and corporate cronyism. They´re also concentrating on helping the poor by changing Washington´s dizzying assortment of antipoverty programs to emphasize work and make the safety net more effective and sustainable. One is a world leader who has been praised for his humility and outlook on the world. The other is an American president, once the international superstar of the political stage. So it is no surprise that President Barack Obama has travelled to the Vatican in Rome possibly to get some tips from the popular Pope Francis who now even has own weekly glossy magazine dedicated to him. As he sat down with the Pontiff at the Vatican this morning, Obama called himself a ´great admirer´ of the pope. Their historic first meeting comes as Obama´s administration and the church

MSNBC host Chris Hayes had an entirely different type of animal on his hands with PA Americans For Prosperity Director, Jennifer Stefano. Joe Newby at The Washington Examiner has found a real doozy of a “comedian.” Her name is Laura Levites – with obviously no connection to the priests of the Old Testament. (She´s an atheist with a fondness for Ricky Gervais.) "I would personally like to castrate every Male Conservative Christian so that they have NO reproductive rights," she wrote on Twitter, using the hashtag "#HobbyLobby." She certainly knows how to draw attention to herself. Newby said that’s not all. She also expressed her hatred of Christians in a tweet calling conservative Christians "******bags," claiming they are "really trying" her patience.
