LOS ANGELES — Many people will be glued to the television watching President Barack Obama celebrate his second and final inauguration. This begs a simple question. Does Obama really need an inauguration? Isn´t his entire presidency, in fact his entire existence, a celebration of himself celebrating himself? Given that he will say the same exact things again in a week or so at his 2013 State of the Useless address, it is unnecessary to sit through day 1,461 of the Obama 2008 Inauguration. Many of us would sooner watch reruns of the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles
Comments: Mr. Golub says what so many of us are feeling. He´s spot on!
The snotty Chelsea Clinton was on C span yesterday, as part of the inaugural festivities, and talked at great length about her maternal grandmother, a sainted woman, who knitted clothing for the poor.... I didn´t hear Chelsea speak one word about President Hologram. Not one word. But I did switch channels so that my tv set would not blow up, carrying the face of chelsea.
Once we get through Monday, we will not have to hear about Obama again until his next major "historic" and "unprecedented" announcement about another non-achievement. This will most likely occur on Tuesday, which is day 1,462 of his inauguration. MSNBC as always will be providing blanket coverage.
Well, the way things are developing since November´s election this could not be "his secondf and FINAL inaguration". Somehow I recall the situation in Gemany in the beginning of Hitler´s "Reign" over that nation. Not very many people from that era are around today but recorded history could give us more details. Take time and read about it. Never doubt that History Does Repeat Itself.

Ah, but will Arietha Franklin show up in another wild get-up? I´ll wait for the pictures. At least George, Sr. and Bar have good reasons for not attending this year. --And too bad that some unbelievable blizzard isn´t in the forcast. It´s a good occasion for that Hell to freeze over.
It will be way to frigid here to go out and about...so I am going to declare it a Netflix day at my house... I would rather walk through fire than watch that lying piece of crap and his ghetto witch wife celebrating the stupidity of the fools who voted for more welfare..
Thank goodness we have DVRs and Netflix and such as TBS and TNT and ESPN so that we are not force-fed Obama 24/7. In fact, in his first term, I have not caught more than a couple of fleeting images of the Obamas nor heard his sing-song voice more than a few words at a time as I have become adept at instant channel-changing. The One can be avoided - it just takes practice and hair-trigger reaction time.
One fourth of MSNBC’s The Cycle, self-identified moderate conservative political commentator Abby Huntsman, announced today that she is flirting with backing Romney for Senate. No, not Mitt Romney; the former Massachusetts governor’s son, Josh Romney. Huntsman, the daughter of former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, urged Josh Romney to take on prominent Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee in the 2016 Republican GOP caucuses. The MSNBC political commentator said there is a chance that the son of the former Republican presidential candidate can knock off Lee in a primary… in a state where voters chose the GOP candidate over President Barack Obama
A federal appeals court issued a ruling Thursday reinstating most of Texas´ controversial new abortions restrictions, just three days after a federal judge ruled they were unconstitutional. The decision by the panel of judges at the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals means as many as 12 clinics won´t be able to perform the procedure starting as soon as Friday. The panel said the law requiring doctors to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital can take effect while a lawsuit moves forward. The restrictions could take effect Friday. The panel left in place a portion of District Judge Lee Yeakel´s order that prevents
The fiscal 2014 budget justification released by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Marilyn Tavenner explains that CMS is requesting that Congress appropriate $803.5 million for operations and management of the Obamacare exchanges during the fiscal year so that, among other things, CMS can “ensure the integrity of programs that redistribute tens of billions of dollars.” Overall, CMS wants $2 billion to run what it calls the “Federal Marketplace” for health insurance. “CMS’ program level request for the Marketplaces totals $2.0 billion in FY 2014, to support the first year of program operations,” says the budget justification. The agency
Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) expressed cautious support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) currently nearing passage in the Senate. He also lambasted the recent government shutdown and called for reforms at the National Security Agency, during a wide-ranging television interview. McCain said he was leaning towards a vote in favor of ENDA, which would ban workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. The law has the backing of every Senate Democrat but Republicans are much more wary. McCain himself emphasized that he still has outstanding concerns regarding the law’s possible effect on religious organizations. He likened
Senate Democrats vented their frustrations over the faulty rollout of the Affordable Care Act in a meeting Thursday with White House chief of staff Denis McDonough and other senior officials. “There’s a lot of frustration, everywhere,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said after the meeting. McDonough tried to assure angry senators he is personally taking charge of the disparate federal offices in charge of implementing the massive law, which has been plagued by technical errors. “He gave us the impression that he’s taking charge of the different elements and cracking the whip. He said to let him know if we had concerns,” said
Department of Interior Secretary Sally Jewell vowed that President Obama would use executive authority to create more national monuments to protect lands if Congress doesn´t pass legislation to do so. "If Congress doesn´t step up to act," Jewell said during a speech at the National Press Club in Washington, "then the president will take action." Obama has used the more than century-old Antiquities Act to establish national monuments nine times, with six coming in the last year. The administration has said it would use the law only if local communities can demonstrate there is significant support for such action. Those moves have invited
Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) wants to make sure that both benefit recipients and stores are held to account for the recent run on groceries during an outage of the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) system in his home state. Shoppers cleared out shelves Oct. 14 when the system went down, with deluged Walmarts deciding to let transactions proceed despite the outage showing no spending limits for the cards. Vitter said those who went on food grabs should be disqualified from receiving benefits. “Food Stamps have more than doubled in cost since 2008 and continue to grow in an unsustainable way, and
She’s out! A federal appeals court on Thursday blocked Manhattan federal Judge Shira Scheindlin’s controversial ruling requiring restrictions on the use of stop-and-frisk by cops but didn’t stop there — the three-judge panel also took the extraordinary step of booting her from the case altogether. In a scathing rebuke, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals found that Scheindlin exhibited bias in the case that ran “afoul” of the code of conduct for US judges. The panel said Scheindlin’s August rulings will be stayed pending the outcome of an appeal by the city. “Upon review of the record in these cases,
More than 8,000 federal workers and contractors with security clearances owe $85 million in unpaid taxes to the IRS, according to the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The GAO warned that individuals who have significant debt and access to classified documents pose potential security risks. “About 8,400 individuals adjudicated as eligible for a security clearance from April 2006 to December 2011 owed approximately $85 million in unpaid federal taxes, as of June 2012,” according to a report released Thursday. The GAO examined individuals who have been approved for security clearances in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Energy (DOE),
Seven correctional officers have pled guilty in a racketeering conspiracy involving the notorious Black Guerrilla Family (BGF) prison gang in Maryland. Narcotics and other contraband were smuggled into multiple correctional facilities for the gang by at least seven correctional officers. The facilities, both men’s and women’s dedicated centers, were operated by the State of Maryland and the City of Baltimore. In one instance, a female corrections officer was engaging in sexual relationships with two BGF inmates and smuggling drugs in for the gang members to sell inside of the corrections facility. The female officer, Kimberly Dennis, pled guilty on October 29th
Unrepentant domestic terrorist and President Obama’s “friend from the neighborhood” Bill Ayers has received a warm welcome for his new book, Public Enemy, on MSNBC. On October 14, he appeared on Morning Joe, where the hosts fawned over him; on October 16, he stopped by Now with Alex Wagner. Sadly, Public Enemy bombed, according to Bookscan numbers, which track book sales through traditional bookstores and Amazon.com. From October 6 through October 20, Ayers sold a grand total of 467 copies of his book. By contrast, Mark Levin’s Ameritopia sold 56,756 copies in its debut week in 2012.
Iran is on the brink of obtaining full nuclear weapons capacity. According to a top former deputy at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Tehran’s current nuclear infrastructure has the capability to build "the bomb" in two weeks. On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu summoned the attention of the international community, warning that Iran was dangerously close to developing nuclear weaponry and reminded the nations of the world to be mindful of falling prey to psychological disarmament via Iranian President Rouhani’s "peace and friendship" initiative. Before his speech to the United Nations General Assembly in early October, Netanyahu suggested that
From Florida to California, consumers are getting notices their health plans are cancelled. They were promised they could keep their plan if they liked it. That was a lie. They’ve been duped and dropped. The liar is none other than the President of the United States. On June 15, 2009, President Obama told a town hall meeting that “No matter how we reform healthcare, we will keep this promise…. if you like your healthcare plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”
President Barack Obama’s job approval has dropped to an all-time low, according to a new poll released Wednesday. A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey shows that a mere 42 percent of Americans approve of Obama’s job performance, down five points from a poll conducted in early October. The president’s disapproval rating stands at 51 percent, tying an all-time high for Obama. In all, 41 percent of respondents say they have a less favorable opinion of the president since the 16 day government shutdown, compared to 21 percent who say they have a more favorable view since the shutdown. The Affordable Care Act
Exactly half the nation sees the year-old killings of the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans in Benghazi, Libya as a serious scandal — one many believe will hurt former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s chance to be the next president, according to a newly-released national poll. Rasmussen Reports revealed that 43 percent of likely voters believe the scandal will damage Clinton. That rises to 47 percent among voters not affiliated with any political party, like independents. Some 41 percent said it wouldn´t ding her chances. The impact is clear, and not just on Clinton. Most — 58 percent — rated the
White House officials have pressured insurance industry executives to keep quiet amid mounting criticism over Obamacare's rollout, insurance industry sources told CNN. Sebelius: 'I apologize, I'm accountable' for Obamacare website flaws - After insurance officials publicly criticized the implementation, White House staffers contacted insurers to express their displeasure, industry insiders said. Multiple sources declined to speak publicly about the push back because they fear retribution. But Bob Laszewski, who heads a consulting firm for big insurance companies, did talk on the record.
President Barack Obama will not attend next month´s event marking the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln´s Gettysburg Address in Pennsylvania. Officials at Gettysburg National Military Park said Wednesday that U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will represent the administration the Nov. 19 sesquicentennial. Jewell and Pulitzer Prize-winning historian James McPherson will share the role of keynote speaker. Other events include a reading of the Gettysburg address by a Lincoln portrayer. Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett also plans to attend the ceremony. Lincoln delivered the immortal words of the address at a dedication of the Soldiers´ National Cemetery on Nov. 19, 1863, more than
It was a spasm of violence that stunned residents: some 200 black youths raising hell - what police called a full-blown riot - in Austin, Texas. Angry black youths inexplicably converged by the Highland Mall, near an iconic haunted house attraction, and walked atop parked cars, fought among themselves, and hurled rocks at some 30 arriving police officers.(snip)In their reporting on the riot, Austin´s media outlets followed a widely accepted rule of mainstream journalism today: they failed to mention that the rioters were black. Yet many Austin residents surmised as much -- and their suspicions were confirmed when mug shots were
Politico describes this kindly gesture as “an olive branch.” I agree. Cruz, whose fiery brand of conservative politics continually draws the enmity and wrath of the GOP establishment, has publicly pledged he will not help conservative candidates oust his more squishy, Republican colleagues. The “surrender caucus” can finally breathe a sigh of relief. For now: Extending an olive branch to GOP senators, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is privately making it clear he won’t engage in the Senate Conservatives Fund’s hardball tactics to defeat his colleagues in their primary races. At a closed-door lunch meeting of Senate Republicans Wednesday, the freshman
Ronan Farrow is already in MSNBC mid-season form. Farrow, the son of actress Mia Farrow and Woody Allen, is set to debut his own MSNBC talk show early next year. His latest political comments, though, find him boosting the image of the Clintons in a way that even the far-left network might not embrace. They´re nimble politicians. Also I think that they represent a style of honesty that the public craves right now. And that´s reflected in the numbers. I think people are tired of the old school politicking, and when a politician comes out and says, “Actually, I changed my
Conservatives are expressing shock and outrage that the Obama administration knew that many people in the individual insurance market would not be able to keep their plans once the Affordable Care Act took effect. Such shock is not surprising; overblown outrage is the stock and trade of conservative politics these days. But here´s what conservatives won´t tell you, lest it undermine their theatrics: Many insurance plans are shutting down because they don´t meet the higher bar of quality benefits required under Obamacare, and of those people who lose access to their plans, many will pay less and all will have better
Secretary of State John Kerry expressed his frustration Tuesday with the fact that even in the United States, “a very educated country,” there are those who do not recognize the urgency of combating global warming. Addressing the D.C. Greening Embassies Forum, which encourages the “greening” of foreign mission in Washington, Kerry took aim at those who challenge the notion that the science is settled when it comes to climate change. “I am amazed after all these years that we’re still struggling here in a very educated country to get a lot of people to embrace and understand why this is not a
For a moment Wednesday morning, the person in charge of ObamaCare — not to mention the largest and most expensive Cabinet department in the United States and, therefore, the world — turned into a frustrated teenager. Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of Health and Human Services, was undergoing a grilling from a Republican congressman over whether President Obama bore responsibility for the failures of his health-care rollout. She said it was her fault. He said Obama was her boss and she reported to Obama, so wasn’t it his fault, too? To which Sebelius responded thusly: “Um . . . You clearly . .
Every day, it seems, more people who have been screaming their hatred for those who predicted all we see coming true are admitting what we have known all along. The president is incapable of telling a truth, and what conservatives have been predicting for three years about ObamaCare has been entirely correct. Indeed, we haven´t seen anything close to the worst of what is to come, since the system hasn´t even begun to function in its utmost state of disarray and confusion.(snip)So, can we finally stop pretending that the left has a positive plan for the United States? Can we
