School board: We´re satisfied
superintendent accused of
plagiarism ´understands her mistake´

NJ.com, by Meghan D. Hodgin

Bedminster — The board of education says it has looked into the concerns surrounding two cases of possible plagiarism by Superintendent of Schools Carolyn R. Koos, and is "satisfied that she understands her mistake and will not repeat it," board president Louis Casella said in a statement. "The board has fully expressed and discussed its concerns with the superintendent," Casella said. "Superintendent Koos has apologized for any adverse effect this may have had on the district." NJ.com first reported the possible plagiarism Jan. 10, when a letter sent to the district appeared to be a near word-for-word

Comments:
School system employs a superintendent who evidently cannot compose a simple letter (having swiped at least two and posted them under her own name on the school website), school board says it´s OK, time to move on. Any wonder there´s no confidence in our public school systems?

Another nice lesson for the kiddies to learn. No personal responsibility ever....I would be furious if I was a tax payer in that school district and paying, I am sure, an enormous amount of money for someone who has to plagiarize a letter. Geez

"Two cases of possible plagiarism," "understands her mistake," "will not repeat it." These are absurd statements to be made about a $135K/yr School Superintendent imported from Illinois this year.

Plagiarism is the ultimate crime of Academe. This bimbo knows it and should be made to feel the full wrath of an offended educational system for her INTENTIONAL plagiarisms...as an example to others.

I worked for a major university a few decades ago, handling research money. My boss had a ph.d. in higher education administration, and I found, one day, that he had lifted most of it from a Harvard Ph.d. And got away with it.
Then a couple of years later, he was being canned for misapplying social security regulations for the university´s graduate assistants, and it cost the university 3 million dollars.
But the provost felt sorry for him, and put him on a task that should have been simple enough - to develop policies and procedures for the university, and put them into the form of an organization manual.
My old boss, instead of doing the work, got his hands on Stanford University´s Organization manual, copied it almost word for word, cost the university another 3 million dollars (too complex to explain the reasons here) snd was forced into retirement, honorably.
The point to my anecdote? When you find an employee who acts in a dishonest fashion once, the odds are high that he will do it again.

"Please go elsewhere" reminds me of an email that was sent, perhaps on Facebook.
Thus, nothing was original in the post.

There was a Brady Bunch episode once where Peter did something wrong and avoided punishment by convincing his parents that he understood what he did was wrong. It was all smiles and cupcakes as the parents concluded that, since he had learned his lesson, there was no need for the pesky punishment.

I turned around and tried it on my own parents and got laughed out of the room, and punished anyway (for whatever it was).

This woman will plagiarize again. And be given another pass.

New York — The Ku Klux Klan is on a recruitment drive across America with a new leafleting campaign, as membership numbers grow due to opposition to Barack Obama and increased immigration. Residents of towns in Texas, Louisiana, Illinois and Pennsylvania emerged from their houses over the weekend to find fliers attached to their doors, car windscreens or on the front lawn declaring “The KKK wants you.” The leaflets depict the outline of a hooded figure in white robes with Klan insignia pointing at the reader in the style of traditional military recruiting posters, complete with phone numbers and websites.
