Gun-Outing Newspaper Removes
Names, Addresses from Map

Breitbart´s Big Journalism, by Warner Todd Huston

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 1/18/2013 8:33:16 PM

The New York newspaper that made itself infamous for publishing an interactive, Internet-based map revealing the names and addresses of thousands of New York´s law abiding gun owners has now disabled the feature that allows readers to see those names and addresses. The Westchester-area Journal News caused outrage among New York´s legal gun owners with its anti-gun stunt as the story surged across the country. Citing public safety issues, as late as last Tuesday a group of 50 current and former law enforcement officials gathered to demand that the newspaper remove the names from public view.

Comments:
It looks like they are in full retreat mode after the damage has already been done. Maybe this taught them a lesson, probably not.

There have been at least two burglaries at homes where the addresses were taken from the map.

In the latest, several guns, cash and jewelry were stolen, and one gun safe was carried out of the house.

If those guns are used in crimes, the editors and owners of this "newspaper" (sic) should be held accountable.

You would think they would have run this name/address map article by their lawyers before they published it. I sure would have liked to be a fly on the wall of that meeting if the lawyers didn´t know about this until after the fact.

I do agree about one thing here: Sue the pants off them. The media needs to learn they can no longer get away with this garbage.

Every person on the map, those with guns and those without need to start a class action lawsuit. May lose but the paper would still have to spend millions to defend itself which should put them out of business.

Googled the publisher lady´s address. She lives in a million dollar house. Her address and phone number are listed. Wonder how she would like to receive polite but ridiculing mail from people who disagree with her stand. Bet she wants armed guards for herself and her family. Interesting that her address has not been taken down yet. Also the reporter who wrote the article is shown.

Ukrainian protesters tore through towns all over their nation, ripping down statues of Vladimir Lenin, the communist dictator who had forced the Ukrainians under the Russian yoke after the Bolshevik revolution. The Ukrainians drove their corrupt, pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovich from the capitol of Kiev, while the opposition leader former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko was freed from prison. Amazing images of protesters tearing down the iconic face of socialism V.I. Lenin (also known as Vladimir Ulyanov) erupted into a fury on social media last night. These photos are truly inspiring – at least to those able to recognize the significance of young people

The University of Notre Dame must provide birth control to employees and students after a federal appeals court ruled Friday, a move the school says will force it to violate its religious beliefs. In a blow to religious colleges and universities across the country, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago denied Notre Dame´s request for an injunction to the ObamaCare birth control mandate that requires the school to provide coverage for contraception. The injunction would have given Notre Dame a temporary reprieve from the birth control mandate, as the Roman Catholic school challenges the rule in court.

A renewed push at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for net neutrality rules could solidify a major expansion of the agency’s authority over the Internet. Earlier this year, the D.C. Circuit Court of appeals overturned the FCC’s “Open Internet Order,” which kept Internet providers from blocking or slowing access to certain websites, on the grounds that the agency had overstepped its authority. But in a major win for the FCC, the court said the agency could rewrite the rules under Section 706 of the Telecommunications Act, which deals with broadband adoption. Now FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler is seizing on the

A federal judge in Newark has tossed a lawsuit brought by eight Muslims who claimed the NYPD´s post-9/11 surveillance of their mosques, schools, and other community locations violated their civil rights. Instead, U.S. District Judge William Martini ruled that there was no harm done until the Associated Press reported on the program (earning itself a Pulitzer Prize along the way). Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, may be the brightest light to adorn the Republican Party in many years. He knows how to make the case for conservative ideas, pointing, for example, to the contrasting fates of Detroit and Houston to illustrate the superiority of conservative policies. So it´s particularly galling to see that rather than train his fire at President Barack Obama and the liberal machine that cocoons him, Cruz has become a one-man wrecking ball against Republicans. His most recent foray into sabotaging his colleagues concerned the debt limit increase. Because Speaker John Boehner sent over a "clean" debt limit bill,

The former senator’s strong second-place showing in 2012 shocked—even scared—the GOP’s kingmakers, who saw in him an abortion-hating firebrand with no chance of beating Barack Obama.
