LONDON - Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says the U.S. is working with the British and Algerian governments to assess what´s happening on the ground at a natural gas complex in the Sahara where Islamic militants are holding hostages from at least 10 countries. The fate of many of the captives remains uncertain. Speaking Friday at Kings College in London, Panetta said the U.S. is "working around the clock to ensure the safe return of our citizens." Panetta says the terrorists should be on notice that they´ll find no sanctuary in Algeria or North Africa.

Just ask that jailed videographer in LA.

The Leader of the Children´s Crusade cannot speak about Americans killed and captured by al-Qaeda because of the on going FBI investigation of Benghazi.

AUSTIN, TX.--Texas´ ban on gay marriage was struck down by San Antonio-based federal Judge Orlando Garcia today. The judge suspended his ruling, however, meaning that the ban will remain in place until a secondary ruling by an appeals court later this year. Federal judges have the right to suspend a law if it is believed to cause significant suffering for the plaintiffs. The original lawsuit in Texas was filed by two gay couples: Cleopatra De Leon and Nicole Dimetman of Austin; and Mark Phariss and Victor Holmes of Plano. In his decision, Judge Garcia said the gay marriage ban has no "rational

Havana- A Russian warship was docked in Havana Wednesday, without explanation from Communist Cuba or its state media. The Viktor Leonov CCB-175 boat, measuring 91.5 meters (300 feet) long and 14.5 meters wide, was docked at the port of Havana´s cruise ship area, near the Russian Orthodox Cathedral. The Vishnya, or Meridian-class intelligence ship, which has a crew of around 200, went into service in the Black Sea in 1988 before it was transferred seven years later to the northern fleet, Russian media sources said. Neither Cuban authorities nor state media have mentioned the ship´s visit, unlike on previous tours

As both sides ramp up pressure in the fight over legislation that opponents say encourages discrimination against gays and lesbians, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer´s office said she would make a statement about the controversial bill Wednesday. Brewer is expected to veto the measure, but she hasn´t said publicly what steps she´ll take. Opinions are sharply divided on the politically charged measure, SB 1062, approved last week by the state´s Republican-led legislature and now at Brewer´s desk. Brewer´s office said she would make a statement at 7:45 p.m. ET today. The bill proposes to give Arizona businesses that assert their religious

Were they all this ugly? It’s memorable, for whatever that’s worth. It’s also nothing like anything Jobs would have probably approved. He was all about clean design that made intuitive sense. That statue has Cyrillic letters sticking out of the side, because the designer is Serbian. Also, it has a tiny, pitted pinhead. It is basically a disturbing Pez dispenser, but without candy. That means once her advance is covered, she will collect 15 percent of the studio´s slice of the box-office pie, known as "film rentals." Each studio negotiates individual deals with

When Obamacare handed insurance companies millions of compulsory customers, it also handed them a reminder of one of their industry´s toughest realities: Consumers want low premiums, and they want to see any doctor they want. And it´s impossible to give them both. Generally, insurers selling plans on Obamacare´s exchanges opted to keep premiums low, hoping the public would prefer a low upfront price tag—even if that meant customers couldn´t always pick their first-choice doctor. But "if you like your doctor, you can hope she´s in our network" was always going to be a tough sell for insurers. With the insurance

Compared with how the Obama administration has swept under the rug the Benghazi attacks of September 11, 2012, Nixon’s attempt to cover up the Watergate burglary was rank amateurism. To be fair, Nixon’s team of Haldeman, Ehrlichman, Mitchell, and Dean were not in the same league as Obama’s, which includes not only his cabinet but most of the national media and much of Congress.
