Republican Insider: Obama Livid
Over Gun Rights Backlash

The Ulsterman report, by Ulsterman

Original Article

Like me you were probably watching the president’s gun control speech today. Was told this morning the presentation today was a revised version that was completed just last night after a bunch of back and forth between the White House and Senate leaders. Guessing that would be Harry Reid mostly. Last week the president was ready to go all in on the executive order scenario. Confiscation was going to be in play. Then the backlash came and it forced Obama to back off.

I post this as an FYI....If this is correct.....

The article says that Obama´s speech yesterday is not the one he had planned to delivere as late as last week. He was going to go for confiscation but had to back down due to the developing uproar.

Notice that the rebellion was NOT from Republican so-called leaders. It was (and still is) from the grassroots. Congressional Republicaan leaders are cowering in the corner hoping that King Obama does not kick them again. Boehner is such a pansy.

Where are the people who have SWORN to protect and defend the Constitution? I know its not the 84 known communist in the Congress or the many in the White House. The time to rise to Thomas Jefferson´s call for the defense of liberty is coming.

President Obama on Sunday said he would make gun control a priority in his new term, pledging to put his “full weight” behind passing new restrictions on firearms in 2013.“I'm going to be putting forward a package and I'm going to be putting my full weight behind it,” Obama said in an interview aired on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I'm going to be making an argument to the American people about why this is important and why we have to do everything we can to make sure that something like what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary does not happen again.”

Putin in 2009 outlined his strategy for economic success. Alas, poor Obama did the opposite but nevertheless was re-elected. Bye, bye Miss American Pie. The Communists have won in America with Obama but failed miserably in Russia with Zyuganov who only received 17% of the vote. Vladimir Putin was re-elected as President keeping the NWO order out of Russia while America continues to repeat the Soviet mistake

According to a longtime D.C. political operative, the Obama campaign is thrilled at the timing of Hurricane Sandy and its resulting impact upon the election now just one week away. **ADult Content** Insider: The impact of this g-damn storm could be a hell of a lot greater than just cleaning up the mess over the next few weeks. It might leave us all with a real mess for the next four years. Obama team very happy this storm hit when it did. Media coverage 24/7 on the storm. Romney campaign has to halt movement for 48 hours. All that momentum we had on our side has been compromised.

The chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus is calling for House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) to be stripped of his gavel for his behavior at a contentious IRS hearing on Wednesday. Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) told Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Thursday that Issa’s conduct in the hearing — which included cutting off the microphone of Rep. Elijah Cummings (Md.), the ranking Democrat — amounted to “an affront to the expectations of the American people.” Fudge also said Issa should apologize on the House floor. “The American people have the right to expect that their elected leaders be held to the

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa joined Megyn Kelly Thursday night to react to the uproar over him cutting off Elijah Cummings‘ mic during a contentious IRS hearing, saying that accusations he was “racist” are just “beneath response.” Issa suggested Cummings’ outburst was a “pre-staged event,” but Kelly asked, “Who cares? Let him have his couple of minutes to rip on you! You’re a big guy, you can take it!” He acknowledged that in hindsight, he might have let Cummings rant, but it’s completely unjustified for any member of Congress to try and get his chairmanship revoked over the incident

So, Lois Lerner still won´t talk about her role in the illegal targeting and harassment by the IRS of conservative and Tea Party groups seeking 501(c)(4) tax exemptions. Lerner appeared for a second time Wednesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and claimed her Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate herself. It isn´t hard to figure out why Lerner´s lips are sealed. First, she knows the House of Representatives can cite her for contempt of Congress, but Attorney General Eric Holder would decide whether she is prosecuted on that charge. Lerner need not worry since President Obama has

A plea for about a dozen people who know who they are: Will you see “12 Years a Slave” now? It just won the Oscar for Best Picture. It just came out on DVD. Please see it. I’ll even spring for the popcorn. You see, I keep encountering folks, mostly African-American, who have decided that they won’t -- or can’t -- see this movie. Some say they don’t want to be made angry. Others say they don’t want to be traumatized. I don’t blame them for respecting the power of this film. “12 Years,” based on the 1853 memoir of a free man kidnapped

During his speech to the CPAC crowd on Thursday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) facetiously recalled “Presidents” Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney to make a point about how Republicans need to “stand for principle” in order to win big elections. Today, Sen. McCain fired back at Cruz during an appearance on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports. McCain said he spoke to Cruz about the comments and it was “cordial” but he took specific offense at the remarks concerning Dole. “He can say what he wants to about me and he can say anything he wants to about Mitt,” McCain said,

Where Lois Lerner goes, drama follows. On Wednesday, the former IRS officer again invoked the Fifth before the House Oversight Committee. That precipitated a heated exchange between the committee’s Republican chairman, Darrell Issa, and Democratic ranking member Elijah Cummings, who called the hearings “un-American.” And that spat has become the story. No doubt that is exactly what Cummings had in mind. Because it distracts attention from the substance of the hearings — and from the questions raised by e-mails and public remarks Lois Lerner wrote, received or made when she was IRS Director of Tax Exempt Organizations. WASHINGTON — Charles G. and David H. Koch, the billionaire brothers who are perhaps the best-known patrons of conservative Republican politics, are bespectacled and in their 70s. They look genial enough. But Democrats are embarking on a broad effort that aims to unmask the press-shy siblings and portray them, instead, as a pair of villains bent on wrecking progressive politics. On Thursday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is starting a digital campaign that will use Internet ads and videos, as well as social media, to tie Republican Senate candidates to the policies and actions of the Koch brothers. Its slogan:

In a strongly worded letter to House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio), the Congressional Black Caucus called for Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) to be stripped of his House committee chairmanship after he abruptly ended a hearing Wednesday morning over the objection of Democrats in the room. "Mr. Issa is a disgrace and should not be allowed to continue in a leadership role," wrote Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio), who leads the Congressional Black Caucus, in the letter to Boehner. The Wednesday hearing on the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting controversy quickly turned tense. When former IRS official Lois Lerner invoked her Fifth Amendment

Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. We can debate whether that’s true but there’s nothing offensive in raising the subject.

Michelle Obama is no stranger to changing up her hairstyle, and it appears she has done it yet again with the addition of honey blonde highlights. The First Lady debuted the new look on Wednesday at the Jessie Trice Community Health Care Center in Miami, where she talked to Affordable Care Act enrollees about how to get insurance. Looking fashionable in a black and purple striped wrap dress, Mrs Obama showed off her lighter locks, which were styled in chic flowing waves. The White House said the US president told his Russian counterpart that Russia’s actions were a violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. During the hour-long phone call, President Obama urged Russian forces to return to their bases. The White House said it hoped the crisis could be settled diplomatically and urged the Russian and Ukrainian governments to hold direct talks in an effort to find a settlement. The President called for an agreement which would protect the interests of both Ukrainians and ethnic Russians living in Ukraine. This was the second phone call between the two leaders in a

The crowd gathered at the Conservative Political Action Conference rose to its feet as Chris Christie exited stage left. The New Jersey governor, who has been dogged by a scandal stemming from revelations that members of his administration conspired to shut down traffic lanes leading on to the George Washington Bridge, came to CPAC on Thursday in need of a reception like that, and the party faithful delivered. Christie’s remarks were highly anticipated, not only because of the lingering scandal but also because CPAC brass dinged him last year by leaving him off of the guest list. Today, the governor was greeted
