Bob Schieffer somehow topped Chris Matthews during CBS News´s special coverage of President Obama´s gun control press conference on Wednesday, as he became the worst caricature of a foaming-at-the-mouth cheerleader for the chief executive. Schieffer lauded "one of the best speeches I´ve ever heard him [Obama] deliver", and compared Obama´s new gun control agenda to Lyndon Johnson´s push for civil rights legislation in the 1960s. The CBS veteran even went so far to liken the President´s cause to the ten-year hunt for 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden and the difficult endeavor of winning World War II: Headline resplit and Source corrected by staff.

# 1 -- it appears that rather than "Brown Nose"... Bob Schieffer of CBS seems to be angling for a "Brown Shirt."
Comparing the "gun lobby" (aka supporters of the 2nd amendment of our United States Constituion) to the Nazis ...is to accuse the 2nd amendment people of what Schieffer and his ilk believe in.

Dear Sirs:
Do you pay any attention at all to what your newscasters say on live TV?
Bob Shieffer just claimed that fight the "gun lobby" is like fighting the Nazis:
"Surely, finding Osama bin Laden; surely, passing civil rights legislation, as Lyndon Johnson was able to do; and before that, surely, defeating the Nazis, was a much more formidable task than taking on the gun lobby."
Who in the hell do you think the "gun lobby" is? The "gun lobby" is 80 million or more United States citizens.
If you knew history at all, you would know that it was the Nazis who started by disarming their people.

The Mexican drug barbarians use those guns to kill their own peole and American citizens, including BP Agent Brian Terry. How can Schieffer and the entire lsm continue to ignore 0bama/Big Sis/Holder´s disasterous Fast & Furious policy. Many of those guns are still out there?!!!
...And this same enabling Administration is now targeting law abiding American citizens and the Constitution itself?!! What sense does this make, Schieffer?!

William Strickland waited for his grandfather to step out of his South Side home to take his paratransit ride to a kidney dialysis appointment early March 2, authorities said Saturday — then stood behind the 72-year-old man, shot him six times in the back and stole his wallet, leaving him to die just steps from his home. Prosecutors said Saturday that Strickland, 19, used the money he took from his grandfather, who also was named William Strickland, to pay for new gym shoes, a cellphone and tattoos. The teen had no criminal history but was an admitted gang member, they said.

The Second Amendment´s guarantee of a right to bear arms does not extend to the right to carry a concealed weapon in public, a federal appeals court in Denver has ruled. Justice Carlos Lucero wrote on behalf of a three-judge panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Lucero cited case law dating to the 1800s that put restrictions on walking around in public with a gun. A year ago, as the Baltimore Ravens under coach John Harbaugh and San Francisco 49ers under coach Jim Harbaugh advanced through the NFL playoffs, there was talk of a potential brother-vs-brother Super Bowl – a “Harbowl,” as some sportswriters had begun calling it. Roy Fox of Pendleton, Indiana, is an ordinary football fan who had an idea: make T-shirts and hats with the word “Harbowl” on them, and sell them for some extra cash in case these brothers did ever meet up in a future Super Bowl. Mr. Fox remembered how Lakers Coach Pat Riley famously made money by trademarking

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that
