What a specious argument. Why not use PA as the example, in PA you are not allowed to use a semiauto to hunt anything. Semi Auto sales in PA are just as vigourous as they are everywhere else.

Most folks buy Bushmasters and AR15s because they are just plain fun to shoot. Is it congress´ job to regulate fun?

There is no city on the planet where anyone needs or could even fully use an automobile that can reach over 140 MPH. There is no state in the union that allows a car to travel even 100mph.

Should we ban automobiles capable of speeds in excess of 90mph because no one can use them? Would hollywood and professional sports give up their Porsces and Ferraris because they cannot legally go as fast as the car allows?

No individual needs to purchase alcohol in half gallon jugs. Even commercial bars and restaurants use only fifths. Half gallons just make straw purchases for minors easier. Shouldn´t we require a permit for half gallon booze bottles? After all buying that amount says you are throwing a party. People drive drunk after parties does not the government have a public health responsibility to ensure that only a certain quantity of alcohol per legal guest is available. To save the children from early death due to drunk drivers? Shouldn´t we limit the amount of liquor allowed to be stored in a home for the same reason?

The Second Amendment has never had anything whatsoever to do with hunting. It does not say "a well regulated hunting sport. . ."

The 2nd Amendment is about a well armed populace being able to deter and, if necessary, stop a tyrannical government.

Our Founders didn´t write the 2nd Amendment for hunting or even self-defense against criminals. They wrote it to keep citizens free from tyrants in government like you, Leaky Leahy!

I remember when Leahy did that secret operatives deal in the 70´s and I guess his constituents are murderers as they continued to vote for him until today. Why the heck don´t the Republicans throw that information out there every time he comes up for election, why? Because they too do not care for the lives of any of us, only themselves and their own.
