Congress has a Constitution problem
— many don’t understand document

Washington Times, by Stephen Dinan

Original Article

Each of them takes an oath to defend the Constitution, but many House lawmakers either don’t understand the founding document or don’t take its precepts seriously, according to an analysis by The Washington Times that studied the constitutional backing that representatives submitted for each of the more than 3,000 bills they introduced in 2011. Under rules that the new Republican majority put into place, each House member introducing a bill must cite specific parts of the Constitution that they think grant Congress the authority to take the action they are proposing.

I would like to see a lawyer argue, and win, a case against one of these laws arguing that if the section of the Constitution so quoted as supporting Congress´ authority to enact such legislation does not do so, it does not matter if another section does, the law is unconstitutional.

From what I´ve read, the sovereign people of the United States delegated 21 specific tasks to their hired agent, the Federal Gov´t.

It´d be interesting to see how much of the Federal budget is spent on those 21 authorized tasks, versus how much is being spent illegally.

I do not know whether members of Congress have a clue about the Constitution, its meaning and its execution...however, I do know is that, either BO has never read it, or if he has, has no = zero clue what it means and how it is limited in its execution.

Since entering public office life (way before the presidency), BO has done everything to undermine its tenants, usurp the powers of the other branches and intimidate and threaten the other two branches in both State and Federal arenas.

He is nothing less than a tyrant, despot and dictator. Through his relentless accusations of racism leading to a return of slavery, BO has bullied (polite way of saying this) the Congress and Supreme Court to do his bidding.

BO´s legacy of destruction to the US will be felt for decades. And, he has not yet been coronated.

How ObamaCare Hurts Patients

President Obama promised to mend the failings in the American health-care system, and yet for cancer treatment, ObamaCare is taking a rotten feature of the old system and making it worse. The Affordable Care Act expands a program called 340B, which siphons money from drug makers and insurers to subsidize certain hospitals. The program has been expanded as a way to offset some of the cuts that the law imposes on hospitals. One significant side effect: 340B is increasing the cost of cancer care—and harming its quality. When the program began in 1992, its aim was to support

Most Americans would agree that academic freedom is a sacred right of the academy and crucial to the American experiment in democracy. But what is it really? That´s the question raised by the Associated Press´s July 16 release of emails between Mitch Daniels, when he was the governor of Indiana, and his staff concerning Howard Zinn´s "A People´s History of the United States." The emails were written in 2010 and Mr. Daniels, whose second term as governor ended this January, is now president of Purdue University in Indiana. Published in 1980, Zinn´s "A People´s History"

Obama´s ´Grand Bargain´ On Taxes
Is Neither Grand Nor A Bargain
Investor´s Business Daily, by Editorial    Original Article

Fiscal Policy: President Obama has proposed a "grand bargain" with Republicans: They get a tax cut for corporations, he gets more money to spend on worthless government stimulus. That´s no bargain — that´s surrender. In the latest attempt by Democrats to disguise GOP capitulation as centrist "compromise," Obama said he´ll sign off on a cut in the corporate tax rate from 35% to 28% — with an even lower rate of 25% for manufacturers — if Republicans will agree to spend more on Obama´s "investments" and OK a tax hike on U.S. companies doing business overseas.

In Chattanooga on Tuesday, the latest stop on his economic inequality tour, President Obama made himself an offer he couldn´t refuse. If Congressional Republicans agree to a corporate tax increase, he said, then he´ll agree to spend more money on his favorite public-works projects. If Republicans bargain hard, will he also offer an expansion of ObamaCare as a sweetener? We know this sounds like an exaggeration, but that´s the essence of what the President proposed as what he called a new "grand bargain." Mr. Obama will agree to reform the corporate tax code—a GOP priority and one

Obamanomics: The president has been decrying the growing gap between rich and poor in the U.S. to help sell his retread tax-and-spend proposals. But those policies have already produced record levels of income inequality. In his speech in Illinois last week, and at events since, Obama described income inequality in the starkest terms. "This growing inequality is morally wrong," he said, and "undermines the very essence of America." To be sure, income inequality is a standard trope for liberals, who always use it to advocate more wealth redistribution. And Obama´s latest focus neatly coincides with his plans to push

These individuals are denied the basic respect and equal treatment that is the right of every American," says Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., who is sponsoring the End Racial Profiling Act.
