| A San Francisco supervisor wants to rename the city´s airport in honor of civil rights leader Harvey Milk, a change supporters said would send a global message about the importance and struggles of gays and lesbians for equality. Supervisor David Campos will introduce legislation Tuesday that would place the proposal to rename San Francisco International Airport as Harvey Milk San Francisco International Airport before voters in November.(Snip) Campos said about 80 other U.S. airports are already named for individuals, none of whom are gay, and that SFO - which moves 40 million passengers annually, including 9 million international travelers

I lived in the Bay area when this happened. Milk was taunting Dan White at every turn and it drove him over the edge. Milk was a very evil Man and absolutely should not be considered some sort of Martyr. Makes me sick...

Don´t care what they name the airport-- I won´t be using it. I have been on a personal boycott of San Francisco since 1997. It´s a very permissive city. Seems as though anything, any outrage goes. The bums in Union Square and surrounding streets were aggressive, would not take no for an answer.

I live in SF and in my opinion Campos is doing everything he can to ruin this city - he´s the worse Supervisor I have ever seen. His last grand idea was for all everyone under 18 to ride public transit for free even though the transit system is running huge deficits. Some background on this idiot - he arrived in SF as an illegal alien and then somehow got his citizenship. Also, he is a gay man and is terming out of his position on the SF Board of Supervisors and is now looking to become a state legislator. He´s counting on the hispanic and gay communities to put him into his new office. Just say NO to Campos on everything.

I found San Francisco to be an unappealing city too. Dirty and full of homeless men. For such a liberal city, why are humans living on the streets? They can glorify whomever want. I feel badly for the sane folk who live in the Bay Area.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned.
