Schumer Says He’s Satisfied
With Hagel on Mideast

New York Times, by Jennifer Steinhauer

In a boon for the Obama administration’s efforts to advance the nomination Chuck Hagel as secretary of defense, Senator Charles E. Schumer of New York, the first senator to meet privately with Mr. Hagel, told President Obama Tuesday that he is optimistic that he could vote for Mr. Hagel’s confirmation based on his grilling of Mr. Hagel on a variety of issues pertaining to Israel and Iran.

Comments:
If a President Romney had nominated Hagel, Schmuckie Schumer would have been screaming bloody murder.

Chuck U. is busy now getting ready to throw Dingy Harry under the bus for the ethics problems in Utah. Dingy Harry is now denying - which is amazing because most people thought the MSM would protect him. How does Reid have so much money - as does his son who lobbies for the Chi-Comms.

A few years ago when I was marching in the annual NYC Israel Day Parade with the Republican Jewish Coalition, Chuck Shumer came over to say hello to us. In the interest of polite solidarity for a common cause, we were nice and had our picture taken with him. Now we see he is only pro Israel for the cameras and does the bidding of Lord Obama no matter what. I wonder how far he will go as it gets worse and worse.

Schumer will no doubt become an agent for the Fourth Reich and help root out Jews and Christians for persecution.

In an interview with student journalists, Michelle Obama used the word “normal” again and again last Friday in reference to her children. “I want them to be normal kids, just like you guys, polite and respectful and kind,” she said, according to 12-year-old Maggie McDow of Bexley, Ohio, who was reporting for Highlights Magazine. “I’m winning,” the first lady declared of her battle to give her children something resembling regular American girlhoods.

In this hilltop suburb of Salt Lake City, where a vista of white spires signals a concentration of Mormons and their churches, it is a given that every boy will become a Cub Scout at 8 and then a Boy Scout at 11. With mutual exaltation of God and country and a shared aim of nurturing “morally straight” men with leadership skills and a service ethic, the Mormons and the Boy Scouts seem made for each other, as entwined as a square knot.

The private equity giants Blackstone Group and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts are longtime rivals that compete for multibillion-dollar deals. But during last decade’s buyout boom, according to newly released e-mails in a civil lawsuit accusing them of collusion, the two firms appeared to be on much cozier terms. In September 2006, for instance, Blackstone and K.K.R. were both circling the technology giant Freescale Semiconductor. After a Blackstone group outbid a K.K.R. consortium to buy Freescale for nearly $18 billion, Hamilton E. James, the president of Blackstone, e-mailed his colleagues

For the first time since researchers began tracking the religious identity of Americans, fewer than half said they were Protestants, a steep decline from 40 years ago when Protestant churches claimed the loyalty of more than two-thirds of the population. A new study released on Tuesday by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life found that it was not just liberal mainline Protestants, like Methodists or Episcopalians, who abandoned their faith, but also more conservative evangelical and “born again” Protestants.

The tale of Asimco Technologies, an auto parts manufacturer whose plants dot eastern China, would seem to underscore Mitt Romney’s campaign-trail complaint that China’s manufacturing juggernaut is costing America jobs. Nine years ago, the company bought two camshaft factories that employed about 500 people in Michigan. By 2007 both were shut down.

Two days before the first presidential debate, a new national survey indicates a very close contest between President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney in the race for the White House. And according to a CNN/ORC International poll, neither candidate appears to have an edge on the economy, which remains the top issue on the minds of Americans and which may dominate Wednesday night's debate on domestic issues in Denver.

WHEN Woody Allen received a Golden Globe award for lifetime achievement a few weeks ago, there was a lively debate about whether it was appropriate to honor a man who is an artistic giant but also was accused years ago of child molestation. Allen’s defenders correctly note that he denies the allegations, has never been convicted and should be presumed innocent. People weighed in on all sides, but one person who hasn’t been heard out is Dylan Farrow, 28, the writer and artist whom Allen was accused of molesting. LONDON -- Prince Charles has called people who deny human-made climate change a "headless chicken brigade" who are ignoring overwhelming scientific evidence. The heir to the British throne, a dedicated environmentalist, accused "powerful groups of deniers" of mounting "a barrage of sheer intimidation" against opponents. He made the comments at a Buckingham Palace awards ceremony on Thursday. Charles said it was "baffling ... that in our modern world we have such blind trust in science and technology that we all accept what science tells us about everything - until, that is, it comes to climate science." He praised finalists for the Prince of Wales

Moody´s rating agency has lowered the outlook for health insurers from stable to negative, blaming ObamaCare. Few Americans will shed tears for insurance companies. But the Moody´s announcement is a warning sign to taxpayers. They´ll be getting clobbered. Section 1342 of the Affordable Care Act forces taxpayers to make insurers whole for most of the losses incurred selling ObamaCare exchange plans through 2016. The bailout is designed to conceal the failure of the president´s signature health law until he is out of office. No one in the Obama administration talked up the advantages of bailing out insurers. It was kept under wraps until

Some Republican establishment operatives and their big donors want former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney to run again in 2016--but they won´t go on record with their comments. An anonymous establishment operative told left-wing BuzzFeed that the 2016 GOP field, which is considered as strong as 2012´s was weak, has "gotten so bad" from the establishment´s point of view that donors are "looking back fondly on the good old days of 2012." “You know what a lot of them say to me? I think we need Mitt back," the anonymous source told the liberal outlet. A recent poll of 2016 presidential primary voters

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama is getting some time in front of the cameras before sitting down to watch the Super Bowl. He´s doing a live interview from the White House with Bill O´Reilly about two hours before kickoff, during the Fox pregame show. The interview comes less than a week after Obama´s State of the Union address, in which he pledged to act to help the middle class if Congress won´t. Obama declined during a recent CNN interview to choose between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks in the title game, saying he didn´t want to offend either city. The White House

It is the question that has been dominating Washington dinner parties for weeks – could the once-golden First Couple of the United States really be heading for the rocks? If rumours are to be believed, the 21-year marriage of Barack and Michelle Obama has been racked by screaming rows, allegations of infidelity and a string of jealous fights. While the White House has refused to comment on the reports there has been a distinct frostiness in the air between the couple in recent months. I announced this past week that I will be retiring after having the honor of serving my Los Angeles constituents in Congress for 40 years. Immediately, speculation began that I am leaving because I am frustrated with a broken institution. But the exact opposite is true: I am leaving Congress with my conviction intact that the legislative branch can be a powerful force for good. Of course there are aspects of the current Congress that I abhor. This past week, every Republican on the Energy and Commerce Committee, where I have served most of my career, voted to limitthe Environmental Protection

At a recent forum at the University of Michigan, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry explained to her audience that white people will never understand why things are racist, because they lack an innate “racial trigger,” that instantly tells them when to be outraged. Harris-Perry, on the other hand, has a very finely-tuned racial trigger. “I know that this moment is racist because it trips my racial trigger, because it makes me feel nauseous,” she said, according to The Michigan Daily. “I’m not generally angry, but you just made me mad.” While lamenting that her ‘white allies’ would never be fully able to understand

After wasting nearly $325 million during the 2012 election cycle with nothing to show for it and then declaring war on the Tea Party, donations to Karl Rove´s three Crossroads groups decreased by 98% last year. The groups reportedly raised a paltry $6.1 million combined in 2013. Rove runs Crossroads GPS, American Crossroads, and the Conservative Victory Project Super PAC, which was formed this year to wage war against conservatives. World peace? No problem for Tim Tebow. Turns out the Patriots did themselves and Tebow a huge favor by releasing him from his contract before the season. Tebow has cashed in on his #NoContract status with a pair of 30-second commercials for T-Mobile set to air during the Super Bowl. If this one is any indication, the rest of the field will be fighting for second place in the "Best in Show" category. The ad is both creative, funny and incredibly well-produced. Enjoy this slice of Super Bowl ad heaven and God bless.
