Biden: W.H. readies 19

The White House has identified 19 executive actions for President Barack Obama to move unilaterally on gun control, Vice President Joe Biden told a group of House Democrats on Monday, the administration’s first definitive statements about its response to last month’s mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. (Snip) The focus on executive orders is the result of the White House and other Democrats acknowledging the political difficulty of enacting any new gun legislation, a topic Biden did not address in Monday’s meeting. Guess what two words are not in the US Constitution? We´ve got a winner! Yes, the two words are "executive order."

But here are 41 words that are in the US Constitution [Article VI]:

"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution...." [Emphasis added.]

Conclusion? Any covered Federal officer who acts to enforce an Executive Order that infringes on the right to keep and bear arms is in violation of his sworn oath.

So -- Tyranny? Or Liberty?

19 EO´s to protect dem congress critters. Refusing to negotiate with congress violates the constitution. Never passing a budget violates the constitution. Sending arms to the Muslim Brotherhood is illegal. Forcing retailers to sell guns to Mexican Cartels is illegal. Intentionally sending a US ambassador into harms way is illegal. Sending troops to Africa before congressional review is not constitutional.

If there was a reporter with half a brain, they would be asking BO and Biden one simple question to each of the EOs..."How does this proposed "Order" prevent or deter gun violence and in particular gun violence of the sort in Sandy Hook, Gabby Giffords and Columbine?" And, "Where is statistical, empirical, forensic proof that these "Orders" will prevent or deter such gun violence?"

Since the answer to the former query is, "It doesn´t." and the answer to the latter is, "We have none." Then the next query should be then, "Are you simply proposing the "Orders" to make you and the Democrat base feel better?"

Given that the political potato is too hot, it´s probably no surprise that they´re taking the EO approach. Are they looking to foment violence? Why not? They´ll use the crisis to do who knows what... martial law? Suspending elections? History repeats, ladies and gents. History repeats.

AMMAN- U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry broke from a visit to Italy on Wednesday to try to salvage Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, even as Arab leaders declared they would never meet Israel´s core demand to be recognized as a Jewish state. Kerry flew to Jordan to ask Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to commit to extending the negotiations, just days before Israel is supposed to release a final group of Palestinian prisoners as a confidence-building gesture. Before it releases the prisoners, Israel wants to be assured Abbas won´t abandon the U.S.-brokered talks, which resumed last July after a three-year break. Having initially

As further proof the NFL never is far from the headlines, owners could make plenty of news this week at their spring meetings. They will consider 13 playing rules proposals and seven bylaws. They will discuss expanding the playoff field from 12 to 14 teams, although a vote on such a move is uncertain. Some changes would seem to be slam dunks: extending the height of the goal posts 5 feet to help determine if kicks are good; eliminating overtime in preseason games; placing fixed TV cameras on the goal lines, end lines and sidelines to help with replay reviews.

Prices are rising for a range of food staples, from meat and pork to fruits and vegetables, squeezing consumers still struggling with modest wage gains. Food prices rose 0.4% in February, the most since September 2011, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Tuesday. Beef and veal shoppers were socked with some of the biggest increases, as prices jumped 4% from January. Overall inflation remained tame, as falling gasoline and other energy costs offset the food price increases. The consumer price index ticked up just 0.1% from January and 1.1% in the past year.

The 20-year net return on their college investment amounts to a financial loss, even when financial aid is included. Taking the time to get and spend money on a degree, in short, means you might actually find yourself in a financial hole. The survey may add to parents' doubts about
