Democratic Party Becomes
Party Of Corruption

Investors Business Daily, by Staff

Original Article

Impunity: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was accused of bribery last weekend, while two Obama Cabinet officials are leaving amid a trail of broken laws and squandered cash. Which, again, is the party of corruption? Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. So with a White House that rules by executive order and blithely ignores budget deadlines as its divine right, it´s no surprise that a culture of impunity has taken hold through the Democratic Party in the Obama economy. We´re not talking about incompetence, or about policy errors, which are abundant as well in

It´s surprising that not mentioned in the article is the complicity of the press in all of what is going on.If the press did its job Obama probably would not have been elected and if he was he would never have been reelected. It´s great that we have forums such as this to get the word out but we need a much better press corp.

A couple weeks ago there was an article about how the Sullivan law got passed in NY. A democrat in the city got it passed to help his organized crime buddies. People were defending themselves against hoodlums, which the democrat wanted stopped.

Check the results of their disasterous, ´progressive,´ policies throughout the past 40 years and weep. ...How many once lovely, safe & thriving American cities has their statist agenda destroyed? How many families have been fractured by their social policies? Why is incivility, crime and decay always the result when dem pols are in charge? ...And then there is the reality of the vanished excellence in the public education system when the aging radical student militant protesters of the ´60s-´70s got tenure.

The dem party and their side-kick RINOS certainly have, ´changed,´ lots of things about America over the past 40 years. ...They get a Failing grade.

Bipartisan deal reached on
gun background checks
Washington Post, by Ed O´Keefe    Original Article

A bipartisan group of senators has struck a deal to expand gun background checks to all commercial sales — whether at gun shows, via the Internet or in any circumstance involving paid advertising, according to Senate aides familiar with the talks. The proposed agreement would be more stringent than current law, which requires checks only when purchases are made through a licensed dealer, but less than originally sought by President Obama and congressional Democrats, who were seeking to expand background checks to nearly every kind of sale.

Baroness Thatcher will be given a war leader´s funeral, with personnel from regiments who fought to free the Falkland Islands carrying her body into St Paul´s Cathedral. More than 700 men and women from the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force will take part next Wednesday, Downing Street has revealed. The Welsh Guards, the regiment who suffered the heaviest losses in the war, will form a guard of honour as her body is taken into the cathedral for the service at 11am. Tensions between Britain and Argentina remain over the Falklands, and President Cristina Kirchner will not be invited to

The Obama Budget Proposal:
Tax Increase on Charity

President Obama’s long-awaited budget proposal, to be released today, does not come right out and say that intends to reduce contributions to charity—but that is almost certainly what would happen were it to become law. Here’s why. The White House has effectively doubled down on a tax change it has been pushing for four years that would limit the value of the charitable tax deduction. The Administration has, since 2009, pushed unsuccessfully to allow only 28 cents on a dollar donated to charity to be deducted—even

$1.058T budget

President Obama’s budget to be released on Wednesday would leave the nation with a $744 billion budget deficit in 2014 despite new entitlement cuts and tax hikes. The $1.058 trillion budget for fiscal year 2014 — which will arrive on Capitol Hill about two months late — would turn off the automatic spending cuts known as the sequester and raise $580 billion in new tax revenue over ten years by limiting tax deductions for upper-income households.

The Obama administration released an outline of its fiscal 2014 budget to reporters on Tuesday, forbidding its release until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday. The preview promises that President Barack Obama´s budget ´reduces the deficit and puts the Nation on a sound fiscal course.´ ´Every new initiative in the plan is fully paid for, so they do not add a single dime to the deficit,´ the White House pledges. An initial walk through the budget proposals, however, suggests that Republicans in Congress will need some convincing.

RUSH: Let me start with a couple things here. The nuclear threat. The little dictator in Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced that Iran has gone nuclear. Whether it has or not, nobody knows, but he´s saying that Iran has gone nuclear. Ahmadinejad has ordered officials to speedily start five more nuclear reactors, so it looks like we better try to talk them into a sequester, too. Sequesters seem to be more effective than any sanctions have been.

We must not lose focus on the end goal of progressives regarding guns. Make no mistake; regardless of what they say, their ultimate goal is confiscation of all guns in America. And a "universal background check" will get them closer to this nirvana than the banning of a few selected weapons ever could. To understand progressive methodology, let´s use another similar issue: the gay marriage agenda. Say the current definition of "marriage" as it has been for thousands of years is represented by "A" on a

Where´s the Progress in Progressivism?

As we know from the climate change farce, progressives are never deterred by reality´s refusal to fall in line with the theories they use to justify their authoritarian advances. This obstinacy reveals the extent to which, contrary to honest reasoning, their political agenda determines their theoretical framework, rather than vice versa. Nowhere is this more evident than with regard to the most fundamental premise of progressivism itself, namely the repeatedly falsified mythology of "progress." The propensity for what we may call pseudo-theorizing has been at the heart of progressivism from the start.

Recently Rush Limbaugh opined that the United States is a dying country. For many years that reality has been painfully obvious to those of us who immigrated to the United States having experienced first-hand the suffering inherent in the near total destruction of a nation which inevitably occurs as the end-product of immorality, despotism and radical ideology. This nation is repeating the disastrous evolutionary process that has plagued so many failed nations throughout mankind´s history. This process begins with a society willing to reject the fundamental concept that is necessary for any nation to thrive

President Barack Obama is firmly committed to pushing an anti-gun agenda. He´s so steadfast in his conviction that he was willing to fly, on his $180K per hour magic carpet, the families of the children and school workers that perished in Newtown, Connecticut all the way to Washington DC. After breakfast, Sandy Hook family members participated in a mini anti-gun-violence, sympathy-fueled arm-twisting session where, in an effort to persuade reluctant senators to sway his way on the issue of gun control, the grieving were exploited.

It has been said that an actuary is someone who really wanted to be an accountant but didn´t have the personality for it. See who´s laughing now. Things are starting to get very interesting, actuarially-speaking. Federal bankruptcy judge Christopher Klein ruled on April 1 that Stockton, Calif., can file for bankruptcy via Chapter 9 (Chapter 11´s ugly cousin). The ruling may start the actuarial dominoes falling across the country, because Stockton´s predicament stems from financial assumptions that are hardly restricted to one improvident California municipality.

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

More than six months since Ambassador Christopher Stevens was assassinated by terrorists in Benghazi, the Obama administration is still trying to keep a lid on information about the attack. Congress and the American people need to know what happened the night of Sept. 11, 2012. Who did the killing and what was their motive? Why wasn´t help sent? And why did the administration lie about who was responsible? Members of Congress have asked hundreds of questions at hearings conducted by several investigative committees, but many of the most significant have been left unanswered. The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. Margaret Thatcher had more impact on the world than any woman ruler since Catherine the Great of Russia. Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. "Thatcherism" was the most popular and successful way of running a country in the last quarter of the 20th century and into the 21st. Her origins were humble. Born Oct. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of a grocer in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham. Alfred Roberts was no ordinary shopkeeper.
