| Hi, everybody. This week, I welcomed President Hamid Karzai to the White House to discuss the way ahead in Afghanistan. And today, I want to update you on how we will end this war, bring our troops home, and continue the work of rebuilding America. Over the past four years, thanks to our brave men and women in uniform, we’ve dealt devastating blows to al Qaeda. We’ve pushed the Taliban out of their strongholds.

Leaving immigration and gun control for another time, I´ll just supply the missing bits re Al Queda.
We’ve pushed the Taliban out of their strongholds (but they have new ones plus they´re beginning to infiltrate their old ones). And our core objective — the reason we went to war in the first place — is now within reach: ensuring that al Qaeda can never again use Afghanistan to launch attacks against America. (But AQ now has new places from which it can launch attacks against America.)
There. That makes more sense.

Hmmm...where is my file folder labeled ´Balderdash´?
Anyone who´s remotely paying attention knows Obama´s ´skill set´ does not venture anywhere into credible foreign policy. *EVERY* hand he´s played overseas - has *ELEVATED* Islamic extremists...
Our soldiers in Afghanistan now spend most of their time w/ unloaded weapons waiting for someone to give them permission to ´fight a war´. Not in the current playbook, as Obama has just issued orders that ´cultural priorities´ now include a tolerance for pedophilia, a wink and nod to the well-known Islamic mistreatment of women, and first and foremost - don´t offend those who´d like to kill us...
Obama should stick to what he´s good at - preening in front of cameras and mirrors. He´s damn sure out of his depth in his current job...

Even though we were in the thick of the wars with Bush, I felt like AQ was thrown into more chaos and pushed further underground during that time. Because I felt that Bush recognized that you can´t be Mr. Friendly to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Making the MB an ally only aides AQ. That Obama can´t see that is just one more reason he should never have been president.

Two absolute truths:
* NØbama actually believes that he is telling the truth. I´m sure his handlers sing his praises and tell him what a military and foriegn relations genius that he is -- so it has to be true.
* The MSM will report this as the truth. They will not question it, and if anyone does question it, and bring up all those inconvenient facts to back up why it is a pile of BS, they will be instantly branded as an evil racist liar.
This nation is doomed...

Whatever successes Obama tries to claim in the conflict formerly known as the "Global War on Terror", he owes full credit to George W. Bush, who was vilified for putting in place the very policies which have enabled our country to keep the homeland safe.
From Victor Davis Hanson´s excellent article today on National Review - these include: "the continued operation of Guantanamo Bay, the use of military tribunals [and] renditions, the use of preventive detention, and the employment of the Patriot Act, especially wiretaps and intercepts."
The hypocrisy of the Left and its media enablers, who have turned a blind eye to the very policies for which they skewered George W. Bush, knows no bounds.

You are a lying foreign fraud, despised the world over. Your only acceptance is in your inner circle of sycophants. Once your presidential charade is over you will forever be considered no more than dog excrement on the historical shoe.

President Obama was on again Monday about gun laws, not enforcing the existing ones. But getting some new ones, any new ones so he can claim some kind of political victory after all of the promises and vows he made in the emotional days last December. But Obama wasn´t working on the senators from his own party who will actually determine the fate of these measures. That would be political leadership. No, Obama was out of town again, up in Hartford for a photo op with Connecticut legislators and some Newtown families.

It´s a good thing this column is available online, so that residents of Memphis, New Orleans and Riverside, California can learn how unsafe their city is without having to venture outside. Those are the bottom three metropolitan areas where residents said they felt least safe walking alone at night in their neighborhood. From the safety of their little work cubicles somewhere, the number gnomes over at the Gallup organization have been accumulating data on perceived human well-being as part of their polling calls on many subjects. From that data comes the 50 most and least safe cities.

Hi I’m Kansas Governor Sam Brownback. A week ago nearly a third of the world’s population celebrated Easter, the resurrection of Jesus. New life. Well, we need new life in our nation and economy. Washington is broke. Big spending programs are running out of money and change is coming. The ideas on how to fix the federal government are now percolating in the states, 30 of which are led by Republican governors. You see, you don’t change America by changing Washington. With video.

Hi, everybody. Our top priority as a nation, and my top priority as President, must be doing everything we can to reignite the engine of America’s growth: a rising, thriving middle class. That’s our North Star. That must drive every decision we make. Now, yesterday, we learned that our businesses created 95,000 new jobs last month. That’s about 500,000 new jobs this year, and nearly 6.5 million new jobs over the past three years. But we’ve got more work to do.

In a swift and strange reversal, Obama administration officials Thursday rushed to play down their own recent announcements of defensive U.S. military movements in response to threats and provocations from North Korea. The hereditary Communist dictatorship of the Kim family that took over the North after World War II has always been quirky, unpredictable and, well, mentally unbalanced by any modern governing standards. The country would be cinematically comical and worthy of a Peter Sellers role were the rogue regime not actively developing nuclear weapons and long-distance missiles to deliver or orbit them.

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz has called for the complete legislative repeal of ObamaCare and its replacement by comprehensive healthcare reforms that actually increase patient choice, decrease the role of government bureaucrats and disconnect health insurance from employment. "If you lose your job," Cruz said, "you don´t lose your house, life or car insurance. They go with you wherever you go." It should be the same for health insurance. In a wide-ranging exclusive interview with IBD´s weekly M&M podcast, the Texas freshman said, "Our first priority is repealing ObamaCare and repealing it in its entirety.”

Remember how since-demoted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said we´d have to pass the massive ObamaCare health law to find out what´s in it? Well, now three years later that´s happening and a lot of people are not liking what they see. Remember how ObamaCare was going to save you money? Not going to happen. Premiums are going up, some by as much as 100%. And a new study by the nonpartisan Society of Actuaries finds that on average insurers will have to pay 32% more for claims under ObamaCare.

Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.
