| WASHINGTON -Partly out of dissatisfaction with the National Rifle Association, a D.C.-based media consultant is calling for a nationwide celebration of guns -- and despite accusations that he´s leading a fringe coalition, Larry Ward says the backers of Gun Appreciation Day aren´t extremists. "If being a constitutionalist is extreme, so be it," said the man who recently told CNN that if blacks had guns, slavery wouldn´t have happened. Political battle lines have already been drawn over Gun Appreciation Day, the brainchild of Ward, a Capitol-Hill-based conservative media operative who confronted gun protesters on the street shorly after

Bias? naah..not ABC News.
According to a 2011 Gallup poll gun ownership is at a historic all time high (47%).
According to a 2011 Gallup 26% favor a handgun ban (weapon used most often in firearm related murder)
"We´re not extremists" - the headline of course is suggesting just the opposite.

These secularist, progressive, liberals in the media and there buddies in Washington, created this culture of death, personal destruction, ignorance and self-indulgence then blame honest law abiding gun owners when the culture acts the way they portray the culture to be.
Half of our politicians and most of Hollywood should be incarcerated for treason and for the destruction of a nation.
But who wants to point their finger and blame "self"? It´s always easier to blame someone else for your indiscretions. Marxist politicians would love nothing more than cater to Hollywood, blame honest people for gun violence and use that as an excuse to confiscate our only means of defending ourselves... from them.

#7 A friend and I spent an hour or so at the Nashville Armory indoor range today. We ran the spectrum of calibers...he had a brand new Henry Golden Boy .22 that we sighted in. That is one fun gun to shoot! He also had a Tarus .32 pocket pistol that I couldn´t hit the broad side of a barn with. I had my .40 Springfield XD that I can ´tight group´ from 10 yards. I also was given permission from the owner to shoot my 150 year old .58 Civil War rifle.... .22, .32, .40 and .58, I think we covered the full range of calibers...and didn´t need a huntin´ licence!

Ahead of today’s House Congressional hearing on the Benghazi attack, Stephen Colbert took a head-first dive into Fox News’ speculative coverage of what that network has been promising will be “explosive” revelations. Since the attack first happened last September, Colbert reported, Fox has been “doggedly” pursuing the investigation to uncover “how the administration blew it, when they blew it, why they blew it, and how they will continue to have blown it.” The host also marveled at the fact the car used in shot after shot on Fox appears to still be on fire. “I mean, it’s been eight months,”

Rep. Elijah Cummings was the first Democratic member of Congress to speak during Wednesday’s hearing on last year’s attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Cummings did not waste any time before going after Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), for what he believes was the congressman using the Benghazi attack for his own political gain. Cummings began by thanking the witness, former diplomat Gregory Hicks for his service and offering condolences for the loss of his colleagues in the attack. “If I had been in your place,”

Obama administration officials are finally letting the attorney for a Benghazi whistle-blower get a security clearance — but the clearance is at such a low level that it will probably slow the congressional probe of how the administration handled last year’s terrorist attack on the embassy in Benghazi, Libya. Victoria Toensing represents an unnamed government official who can help explain the reaction of top government officials to the jihadi attack on the U.S diplomatic site in Benghazi and killed four Americans last Sept. 11. The official may also be able to explain if officials rewrote intelligence reports

Last evening in Manhattan, Senator John McCain met with supporters of a new center named in his honor called the John McCain Institute for International Leadership at Arizona State University. McCain spoke and displayed all of the maverick, straight talk qualities that have both propelled his political career and made him a frustrating partner to many in both parties who have wanted him to either be a cookie cutter conservative or a progressive in GOP attire.(Snip) And then Senator McCain said to the assembled wealthy blown away by the effusive radical centrism they had just heard, "Watch the Benghazi

Joe Scarborough and Chuck Todd commiserated a bit on Wednesday’s Morning Joe, as they both questioned why conservatives are going after the Obama administration for Benghazi so fervently. While the situation merits investigation, both MSNBCers agreed that it’s no political “holy grail” — and won’t ensure Republican victory in 2014. Recalling a conversation with a leading Republican, Scarborough initiated the conversation as he discussed how said Republican felt the Benghazi will turn the American people against President Obama. “Are you kidding me?” was Scarborough’s reaction. “I want the investigation,” he agreed, but “I don’t understand why conservatives

How apropos that in the week before Mother´s Day, the Lean Forward network is announcing hires for its website who have ties to Mother Jones, the far-left magazine that blessed the journalistic world with David Corn, himself a fixture at MSNBC as a frequent contributor. "MSNBC.com is staffing up ahead of a major relaunch later this year," TVNewser´s Alex Weprin reported last night. "The relaunched site will focus on the world of politics and the personalities that populate MSNBC’s programming. There will also, however, be plenty of political news and information."

Washington -Former Vice President Dick Cheney criticized the Obama administration on Tuesday for its handling of the September 11, 2012 terror attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, calling it ´a failure of leadership.´ Cheney said U.S. leaders should have been better prepared for violence on the anniversary of the al-Qaeda attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in 2001. ´They should have been ready before anything ever happened,´ Cheney told MailOnline exclusively during a party in Georgetown celebrating the launch of a new book by former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

South Carolinians may not love former Gov. Mark Sanford. They may still have a bad taste in their mouths after his governorship. They may even wonder whether they can entirely trust him. (Snip) In the end, the nail-biter that late polls hinted at never materialized: Sanford crushed Colbert Busch, 54 percent to 45 percent. A turning point in the race came two weeks ago, when Sanford held a mock debate with a cardboard cutout of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, implying that the California Democrat — persona non grata in conservative South Carolina —

The father of Tyrone Woods, a Navy SEAL killed during the Benghazi attack along with three other Americans, joined Hannity tonight. On Wednesday, witnesses to the attack will testify in a congressional hearing for the first time about the events on September 11, 2012.Before the interview, Charles Woods and his two daughters gave Sean Hannity a framed photo of Tyrone. The question that needs to be answered for America’s sake is why this happened, said Woods. In order to answer that question, he concluded that we first need to answer who did this.

WASHINGTON – The Air Force stripped an unprecedented 17 officers of their authority to control — and, if necessary, launch — nuclear missiles after a string of unpublicized failings, including a remarkably dim review of their unit´s launch skills. The group´s deputy commander said it is suffering "rot" within its ranks. "We are, in fact, in a crisis right now," the commander, Lt. Col. Jay Folds, wrote in an internal email obtained by The Associated Press and confirmed by the Air Force. The tip-off to trouble was a March inspection of the 91st Missile Wing

Using a Nexis "all news" search, Michael Chapman at CNS News crunched the numbers and reports that over the last eight days the media have covered the story of Jason Collins, the NBA player who announced he was gay, a total of 2,381 times. In contrast, during the first eight days of the trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia abortion doctor accused of capital murder, there were only 115 stories. The media are still on the culture rampage that dragged Obama over the 2012 finish line. Since Gosnell´s house of abortion horrors,

Republican lawmakers, who have spent months seeking to tie President Obama to last year’s deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, are increasingly focusing their probe on a new target: former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton. The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others now centers heavily on the State Department and whether officials there deliberately misled the public about the nature of the assault. Three State Department officials are scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday about the Benghazi attack and its aftermath.

When it first became clear that the CIA’s Benghazi talking points had been altered, many of us viewed the White House as the prime suspect. After all, it served President Obama’s political purposes to claim, at the height of a political campaign in which he was taking credit for the fall of al Qaeda, that the death of a U.S. ambassador was down to spontaneous outrage over a video, rather than pre-planned terrorism. It turns out, however, that the State Department was the prime culprit. It was State that pushed back hard against the original talking points.

The Seattle Police Department collected more than 700 guns during a buyback in January, and now city officials have a plan for what to do with them. Mayor Mike McGinn is expected to announce Tuesday that they´ll be melted into bricks carrying messages of peace, and the bricks will be placed around the city. The buyback program was announced a month after last December´s elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn., by city leaders sick of hearing about gun violence. Former Gov. Mark Sanford completed the trail to political redemption Tuesday with a win over Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch to reclaim his old seat in Congress. Sanford defeated Colbert Busch 54 percent to 45 percent, according to full unofficial results. Turnout was heavier than expected, with about 32 percent of the district’s 455,702 registered voters casting ballots. Sanford, who has never lost an election, returns to the 1st District seat he held for three terms from 1995-2001. It’s a remarkable comeback for a man many pundits had written off after his highly publicized affair with an Argentine

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee took to the House floor Monday night and implied that the right to health care and education exists in the Constitution. Ms. Jackson Lee, Texas Democrat, also made the case that the moral authority for such services is also derived from the Declaration of Independence. “One might argue that education and health care fall into those provisions of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” she said. Ms. Jackson Lee added, “I think that what should be continuously emphasized is the president’s leadership on one single point: that although health care was not

Mark Sanford has won the South Carolina special election in a competitive race for what in normal circumstances is a safe Republican seat. The former governor beat Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert Busch, for the state’s 1st congressional district. The AP called the race for Sanford early in the evening, with the Republican leading Colbert Busch 54 percent 46 percent.

From the start, the Obama administration’s account of what happened in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11 last year didn’t quite square for Sharyl Attkisson. So the veteran CBS News reporter dug in, and kept digging. The result: Attkisson has been a persistent voice of news-media skepticism about the government’s story. On the air and online, Attkisson has questioned the administration’s timeline and its response. (Snip) While other media, particularly Fox News, have been similarly skeptical about the official narrative about Benghazi, Attkisson and CBS might put the story in a different light. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) on states nullifying federal gun laws: I mean, let´s look at the context of nullification. Nullification was last used by Southern states to try to eviscerate Civil Rights legislation, to try to prevent states from basically enforcing desegregation and frankly, I think history will look back on this round of nullification as kindly as it did on the last round. It is laughable also because it is a total bastardization of the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment is not an absolute right, not a God given right, always had conditions upon
