| Game show fails are a dime-a-dozen now, but this one is pretty funny, especially if you are a music lover. On last night’s edition of Wheel of Fortune, a contestant excitedly declared that she wanted to solve the “song/artist” puzzle and then proceeded to absolutely botch the title of what was arguably the late Johnny Cash‘s most popular song, 1956´s “I Walk the Line.” “I’ll solve the puzzle,” she said, looking at a board that read: “I _A__ THE _INE BY J_HNNY _ASH” Seems pretty easy, no? Her answer: “I Have The Wine By Johnny Cash.”

Different game show, but I have nothing but admiration and respect for ´Jeopardy´ contestants. How they can stand there in front millions of viewers and remain cool as cucumbers while rattling off answers to dozens of often difficult questions is beyond me - I sometimes get flummoxed when leaving voice mail.

For those who missed the humorous reference to "naggers," there was an episode of Wheel, and the word "naggers" had been completed, except for the "a."
The clue was something like "annoying people."
The contestant picked the wrong vowel. Probably a Democrat...

White House officials have decided to go ahead with annual garden tours this year despite sequester cuts, an official familiar with the decision tells POLITICO. Tours of the White House itself remained canceled because the cuts have left Secret Service short on manpower to staff them. But there will be enough agents to staff the garden tours, the official said. Arizona Gov. Janice Brewer has signed a law providing strong new restrictions on the use of so-called "seclusion rooms" in schools – closet-sized rooms where children with behavioral disabilities such as autism were being locked up as punishment. "It is chilling to imagine an Arizona school child being shut away in a padded room, no larger than a closet, for hours on end," Brewer said after signing the law Friday. "There has to be a better way." With the new law, Arizona will join more than 30 other states that impose rules on the restraint of students in public schools.

WASHINGTON— Virgin America did the best job for its customers among leading U.S. airlines last year, a report said Monday, as carriers overall had their second best performance in the more than the two decades since researchers began measuring quality of service. The report ranked the 14 largest U.S. airlines based on on-time arrivals, mishandled bags, consumer complaints and passengers who bought tickets but were turned away because flights were over booked.(Snip) United Airlines, whose consumer complaint rate nearly doubled last year, had the worst performance.

The U.S. Senate has confirmed Mary Jo White´s nomination as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, clearing the way for her to become the first former prosecutor to lead the agency that oversees Wall Street. White was swiftly approved Monday by a voice vote in the Senate. President Barack Obama nominated White for the job. She was the U.S. attorney in Manhattan from 1993 through 2002. She said in her confirmation hearing that she would aggressively pursue enforcement and hold individuals accountable for misconduct.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass.
