Time Inc. Will Lay Off 700
After 5% Ad Decline

Business Insider, by Jill Goldsmith

Original Article

Posted By:Maryland_Patriot, 1/11/2013 11:09:57 AM

Time Warner´s Time Inc. will lay off up to 700 staffers out of just under 8,000 total as the publisher´s new chief struggles to transform famous titles and massive market share into a digital profit center. The staff cuts will come sometime in the first quarter, said a person familiar with the company´s plans, and will be across the board -- not just focused on editorial, where staffing has already been hard hit. A Time Warner spokesman declined comment.

Job loss along with sky high taxes is just another form of having "skin in the game". No one at Time has any cause for complaint.

#10, and most of the time the articles are old, therefore, the ads are old, and not relevant to those who purchased ad-space.

And those under 40 don´t really read newspapers, or lengthy articles in magazines like Time, or Newsweek, etc..

They´re stuck in a google search-word world where "answers" are provided after a couple clicks. They don´t know how to think through a problem, or process, but have an "answer" based on the search.

TIME magazine is truly an item whose time has come...it´s totally biased, completely left leaning, out of touch and full of inaccuracies better known as lies...it carries the water for the liberals and pretends it´s a ´news´ media...Obama´s pick for ´man of the year´ was an example, picked as #4 was the Egyptian dictator who is making demands that this country free the blind sheik that tried to blow up the twin towers the first time...TIME´s list of stupidity is long and distinguished and it´s passing will hardly be noticed by anyone. The life and times of Bill de Blasio, the new mayor of New York City, reads like a satire from the typewriter of Evelyn Waugh. His Honor could have been a minor character in “Scoop,” Waugh’s classic send-up of newspaper journalism and bungling do-gooders stumbling across the margins of the real world. He’s a perfect fit in the scurvy precincts of Gotham’s radical left-wing politics. Minneapolis — Frigid, dense air swirled across much of the U.S. on Monday, forcing some cities and their residents into hibernation while others layered up and carried on despite a dangerous cold that broke decades-old records. Wind chill warnings stretched from Montana to Alabama. For a big chunk of the Midwest, the subzero temperatures moved in behind another winter wallop: more than a foot of snow and high winds that made traveling treacherous. Officials closed schools in cities including Chicago, St. Louis and Milwaukee and warned residents to stay indoors and avoid the frigid cold altogether. The forecast is extreme: Wind chills

Launching 17 million “Rocky Mountain High” jokes, Colorado has become the first state to make the prudent choice of legalizing the consumption and sale of marijuana, thus dispensing with the charade of medical restrictions and recognizing the fact that, while some people smoke marijuana to counter the effects of chemotherapy, most people smoke marijuana to get high — and that is not the worst thing in the world. Regardless of whether one accepts the individual-liberty case for legalizing marijuana, the consequentialist case is convincing. That is because the history of marijuana prohibition is a catalogue of unprofitable tradeoffs:
