NEWTOWN, Conn.- Since the elementary school massacre in her hometown, Sarah Findley has found herself driving by her children´s schools in Newtown, checking to make sure police are still stationed outside. The mother of three is among many people calling on school officials to keep up the police presence at schools in Newtown, which has had two officers at each of its schools since a gunman killed 20 children and six women inside the Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14. "I think we´re all just shaken to the core," said Findley, whose children all attend schools other than

This is a direct slap in the face to all those ghoulish Democrat buzzards always perched in the trees, ever ready to swoop down and create a feeding frenzy each time some coward-killer seeks out a "gun free zone."

The breakthrough came through analysis of surveillance video from the Lord and Taylor store in Copley Square. King said his sources said the video is said to be so clear they can see the suspect’s face.

That’s very important for everybody to understand,” BMC Chief of Trauma Services Dr. Peter Burke said at a morning press conference. “The reality is that yesterday, there were 10 or 11 that were critical and now there are two.” The medical center has already performed seven amputations on five patients. Secretary of State John Kerry said Wednesday he will appoint a special department liaison to help Congress with unanswered questions about the 2012 fatal terror attacks on a United States outpost in Libya. Kerry said the appointment will be made as early as Thursday, following repeated questions about the incident, during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing. “I’ll appoint somebody tomorrow,” Kerry said. Kerry’s remark followed sharp comments from California Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, who suggested the Obama administration has lied to congressional investigators.

And they didn´t even need black helicopters and Men in Black to pull it off. Derided as conspiracy nuts, opponents of the New York state gun law passed by the assembly in the aftermath of Newtown were ridiculed for being concerned that the law could lead to gun confiscation. Guess what: They were right. The story dropped over the weekend and then was blown away by the Boston attack. But it deserves all the publicity we can give it, as I told Jazz Shaw, author of this piece at Hot Air, on my radio show last night:

It was his first comment on the trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, who operated an abortion clinic in a poor neighborhood in Philadelphia and is charged with killing live late-term fetuses

It seemed to come out of nowhere. No one knew who’d started it – perhaps it was purely instinctual. But as the hearse came into view, the crowds found themselves breaking into applause – applause that followed the hearse all the way along the route, until it drew up at the church of St Clement Danes. Then, once the coffin had been loaded on to the gun carriage and the horses moved off, the applause started again – and followed it all the way to St Paul’s. Down the roads it spread and spread and spread,

Friends and allies of Baroness Thatcher expressed ‘surprise and disappointment’ last night as it emerged President Obama is not planning to send any serving member of his administration to her funeral. Whitehall sources have revealed that the U.S. delegation at tomorrow’s service in St Paul’s Cathedral will be led by two Reagan era secretaries of state: James Baker and George Shultz. Though President Obama himself had not been expected to attend, there had been speculation that he would be represented either by Vice President Joe Biden or wife Michelle. Protocol: President Obama declined to send a high-level delegation to Wednesday´s funeral of Britain´s Margaret Thatcher. It´s a measure of how little he values the special relationship — and a sign of his own smallness. Back in more gracious times, vice presidents routinely attended funerals of foreign dignitaries. As such, the presence of Vice President Joe Biden — if not Obama himself — would seem fitting for as significant a U.S. ally as the late Prime Minister Thatcher, if not out of warmth of feeling, then simply to represent the U.S.´ gratitude. Authorities on Tuesday revealed little new information about the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon, the most high-profile bombing on U.S. soil in more than a decade and a tragedy that presents a new test for President Obama. Obama, like all Americans, is standing by, waiting for answers as to who planted two bombs improvised from pressure cookers at the finish line of the storied race, and why. Three Americans were killed in Monday´s attack and more than 170 others were injured. "Anytime bombs are used to target innocent civilians, it is an act of terror," Obama said,

MSNBC contributor Joy-Ann Reid told the host of Now, Alex Wagner, that she thought President Barack Obama’s response to the attack on the Boston Marathon on Monday was powerful and comforting in a way that President George W. Bush’s response to the attacks of September 11, 2001, was not. She accused Bush of being unavailable to the American people for the “first couple weeks” after the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. As we now move into the official Political Aftermath period of the Boston bombing — the period that will determine the long-term legislative fallout of the atrocity — the dynamics of privilege will undoubtedly influence the nation’s collective reaction to the attacks. That’s because privilege tends to determine: 1) which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals; and 2) how big and politically game-changing the overall reaction ends up being.

"I think we’ve got a good chance of seeing it pass if members of Congress are listening to the American people," President Obama said in an interview on NBC´s "Today Show" that aired on Tuesday. "The notion that Congress would defy the overwhelming instinct of the American people after what we saw happen in Newtown, I think, is unimaginable." Obama was then asked by Savannah Guthrie how he could expect Democrats in red states to vote on this bill when he, as a Senator, didn´t have to himself.
