´Redskins´ Is RACIST...
It´s Time for a Change

It´s damn time the Washington Redskins changed its racist name ... at least if the team ever plans to move inside D.C. city limits -- so says District mayor Vincent Gray. Now that the Redskins are winning again, there´s been a lot of talk about bringing the team back to D.C. -- instead of leaving them in nearby FedEx Field, located in Maryland. But Mayor Gray has some conditions before the Redskins move a muscle -- claiming, “I think that if they get serious with the team coming back to Washington, there’s no doubt

This is GREAT news! Mayor Gray has really worked down his To-Do list of pressing issues for DC, if he´s down to the name of the football franchise. Re-elect that man!

1. Well, since FedEx Field, where the Redskins play, is in Maryland, there is little chance the Redskins will ever play in D.C. (I´m sure the mayor knows that so he is safe in his little press rant.)

2. Call themselves the "not Washington Redskins". (See 1 above.)

3. Change their name to an unpronounceable symbol and be called "The Team formally known as the Redskins". The men will cheer, the women will swoon and their fan base will grow by a factor of 10. Hey, it worked for Rogers Nelson!

Most of the comments here are great. But I have to say that I quickly become ashamed when I see comments like #4. Using that word, especially in a controversial context, is not acceptable. The word is not generally accepted today among those it´s meant to describe & by using it reflects an intolerant mindset. I don´t want conservatives to be associated with bigotry in any way. The left has always been the real racists, but they have falsely persuaded the public through projection that we are the racists. We shouldn´t provide anything to give credence to the lies.

I have no problem with the team´s current name. If anything, all those teams named after American Indians were done so as a tribute to them--not to be negative. BTW, I´m hesitant to use the term "Native American" because in the early 1970s it was proven that people came here from Europe over the frozen Atlantic about 10,000 years before the Asians came over the Bering Strait.

I´d lay down a years pay to hear the following from the owner of the Redskins:

"Today, after much debate and consideration, the management of the Redskins organization has decided to change the name of the team to the Founders. The reason for this change is not, as it may seem, driven by considerations of racist overtones in the name ´Redskins´. That may be the initial impression. I assure you that it is not. Simply stated, the Redskins name was awarded in recognition of the fact that the American Indians of old were fierce warriors, who let nothing stand in the way of victory. For many years this image worked for its intended purpose. Slowly, however, the image of the Indian has changed from a fierce warrior to a money groveling cowardly sort that is afraid of being called names and lobbies for endless hand outs from the government till. I am sure that if Custer had called the opposing side the most vile, racists names, it would have made no difference in the outcome. Today´s tribes are not made of the same stuff, and as such, are not worthy to be memorialized as the fierce warriors of old.

The Founders, however, reminds us of the fierce courage of the founders of this nation, who risked their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to bring into being the greatest nation in the history of the world. Since their type seems all but extinct, we are confident that no one will be offended by using that name. If there are some of that fiber today, they would bear the label proudly."

Well how do you feel about the moron from ESPN Parker calling RGIII a cornball brother because he´s not like "us". I didn´t hear you speak out on that but you want to talk about phony racism instead. I personally don´t like the ´Skins because of the owner and the head coach(both are tailholes)but the name being racist. That is a stretch if ever there was one. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin´s long fall in popularity back home has hit a new low, one that could spell an end to the buzz she´s considering a presidential bid in 2016. In a new poll, she would lose a head-to-head contest with Democrat Hillary Clinton, 44 percent to 43 percent. Worse, she doesn´t even lead among those considering a GOP primary bid. Sen. Rand Paul is tops among Alaska Republicans at 15 percent followed by Palin, who is tied with Sen. Ted Cruz at 13 percent; Jeb Bush at 12 percent, Mike Huckabee, 11 percent; New Jersey Gov. Chris

The latest Kentucky poll found that Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, is trailing his Democratic challenger, Kentucky Secretary of State Allison Lundergan Grimes, by 4 percentage points. Forty-six percent of those polled said they would vote for Ms. Grimes, who has campaigned primarily on bringing jobs to Kentucky and raising the minimum wage, while just 42 percent said they would vote for Mr. McConnell, the Courier-Journal reported. “When he says that raising the minimum wage is the last thing he wants to do, Mitch McConnell apparently thinks that over 60 percent of Kentuckians are wrong. Only 32 percent oppose

President Obama has broken many promises. One that he has not broken is his boast that he would "fundamentally transform America." He and his fellow Democrats are on the verge of doing just that by turning us into a nation of loafers. A loafer is an idle person who lives off others. Barack Obama seemingly has no problem with such people. He might even relate to them. He does have a serious problem with his own work ethic, and finds work boring. (snip) But Obama and his Democratic Party allies seem to be gleeful about the rise of the loafer class.

Powerful winds in the Pacific Ocean, which have driven surface heat deep underwater, could be the reason behind the current ‘pause’ in global warming. This is according to a joint Australian and U.S. study which has looked at why there has been a slowdown in the planet’s global average surface temperature over the past decade. Their research shows that trade winds in central and eastern parts of the Pacific have caused warm surface water to sink to the ocean´s depths, reducing the amount of heat in the atmosphere. Last year, scientists on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the pace of

Every year, prior to Valentine’s Day, the Vermont Teddy Bear Co. runs ads advising guys that the most romantic thing in the world – the best gift a love-struck guy can give his girl – is a teddy bear. This year’s ad features “Big Hunka Love Bear.” Big Hunka is 4½ feet tall, and the company says he’s “stuffed with more than enough love to last a lifetime.” Hey, giving your girl a cute little teddy bear for Valentine’s Day could be a sweet thing to do. But, it’s the way these ads are put together that cause the creep-out: the girl

From its inception, the strategy behind the Obama administration’s implementation of ObamaCare has been simple: to frontload the benefits and postpone the pain and costs of this massive government intrusion into the private sector for as long as possible. This deceitful approach enabled President Obama run for reelection in 2012 on the spurious promise of extending insurance coverage to the poor and those with pre-existing conditions without being held accountable for the problems with the law that would only become apparent in his second term. Over the course of the last year, as the president’s signature accomplishment debuted with a
