Obama´s 81% Support in
New York City is Best in 114 Years

President Barack Obama’s support from New York City in the 2012 election was the highest recorded for a candidate in more than 100 years, according to a final tally of votes. Obama beat Republican challenger Mitt Romney by 81 percent to 18 percent in the nation’s largest city, according to a certified vote count released Dec. 31 by the state board of elections. Some New York ballots were counted late in part because of complications caused by Hurricane Sandy. Obama’s share of the vote is the best showing by a presidential nominee in New York since its five boroughs

I live in NYC and it isn´t like the rest of America, I assure you. It is the center of the elite sheep and thir acolytes. You can talk to any one of them and they repeat what they hear on CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC. They don´t open their minds to any other possibilty, but to the way they think. Alas! The other 19% whisper low in the bagel shops and the privacy of their apartments where they are safe from the assault of the lemmings.

The only hopeful sign I have heard from one of them is that he knows MSNBC is a joke and Chris Mathews and the rest of the trained seals are ridiculous buffoons. Gee, even one of them got that right.

I was born there - and still enjoy visiting - mostly for the museums. But I´ve caught up on my quota of ´´gay musicals´´ and thus avoid Broadway if the wife lets me. Besides, Ellen´s Stardust Diner and the cast of aspiring singers often provides a much better show than what you get via TKTS. And the food is reasonable - for NYC.

For the record, I will never, ever, again support military action to avenge the deaths of New Yorkers. The next time a plane flies into a New York sky scrapper, I will be the first to ask, "why do they hate us?"

New York could burn to the ground and I would consider it to be urban renewal.

WATERFORD — New federal requirements that foods sold in schools be healthier have some area school districts opting out of the federal lunch program that provides subsidies for serving free or reduced-price meals to low-income students. Opting out means the districts do not have to follow food healthiness requirements. But it also means the districts lose federal money that covers the cost of free and reduced-price meals for poorer students. The Waterford Graded and Waterford High School districts have weighed their options and decided they’d rather forego the money and serve what they want. They’ll continue to cover the costs

The further left a radical politician wants to go, the more likely he is to wrap his agenda in a mainstream Republican brand. In his interview with Bill O’Reilly, Obama compared himself to Nixon (not for the reason most Republicans would expect) and in his State of the City address, Bill de Blasio compared himself to Fiorello H. La Guardia; a former Republican mayor of New York City. The constant mentions of La Guardia, a universally popular figure, were a poor mask for a radical address filled with ugly divisive rhetoric, class warfare and schemes that will bankrupt the city.

With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
