Christie says East Coast waiting
´seven times longer´ than Katrina

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie slammed Washington once again Wednesday for its slow response in getting aid to Hurricane Sandy victims. “We’ve waited here now seven times longer than the victims of (Hurricane) Katrina to get help from the federal government,” he said, adding that some people were still waiting. Christie made his comments Wednesday on the Fox Business Network, one day after his annual State of the State address. Christie, who is up for re-election this year, has upped his public profile since Superstorm Sandy hit New Jersey last October. Last week, he called out House Speaker

Comments:
If you can´t see it yet, Christie just can´t keep his mouth shut and work with the other RINO GOP to get fed the "pork" he is requesting. Already given $9B in Sandy relief aid, 0bama´s new disciple demands more. Tea Party needs to start looking for a replacement.

Katrina would have gotten help instantly but their stupid gov wouldnt give GW to send in the troops (so to speak). I am not fond of beaches or water and to build expensive homes on the ocean front is the last thing that I would do or even think about. It´s called flood insurance.

Has the whole political / media class lost their collective minds? People I talk to in the real world seem to be relatively sane. But turn on the Tv or go online and it´s a freakin explosion of crazy.

Quit waiting for the overbearing, oppressive Federal government to bail you out. Don´t you get it? No amount of butt kissing of our first communist president is gonna get you any aid. Your on your own and you´ll have to solve the hurricane problems yourself. So quit whining about federal aid and get to work.

#1 That would have been Louisiana, and its dumb-o-crat governess Kathleen Blanco. Next door in Mississippi, where Katrina actually made landfall by the way, Barbour and the State and Local officials were ready and waiting. As was FEMA, because Barbour had already issued a state of emergency and requested federal assistance.

Two questions for the blowhard.

Prior to the storm, when all of us were told to prepare for the hurricane....did Christie bother to communicate with NJ Transit to be assured that they had followed the report recommendations about the flooding danger for the rail cars?

Following the previous eight day power outage, what communication did he have with the Public Utilities Commission to make sure that JCP&L was prepared for the storm.

In both cases I would bet Christie did NOTHING.

I point my finger at his failure as Governor of NJ.

We are Andrew survivors. Our electricity took 7 weeks to be returned to our house. It took us almost a year to settle with the insurance company and complete the repairs. The initial work was done by my husband and myself. It included tearing out all the carpets, general clean up of interior and yard. We did have a window person come and replace all the necessary broken windows. We dried all of our furniture on the lawn in the beautiful Florida sun and we never saw a FEMA representative nor did we call them. We spent the six weeks after the clean up and lock down with our children in a small apartment in NYC only returning when notified that the electric was restored. Most people will find that they have to help themselves. The government postures while the people suffer. Working at your own recovery is the best cure after the catastrophe.

President Obama´s proclaimed strategy to "bypass Congress" — most conspicuously his broad rewriting of the Affordable Care Act — has given unusual prominence to a fairly arcane legal doctrine: standing. Standing is what is preventing a potential blizzard of litigation against the president´s unilateral decrees, and ironically, it´s a doctrine liberal jurists have long decried. To challenge the government in federal court, it isn´t enough to simply believe that the government´s conduct is illegal or even unconstitutional. Federal courts can hear only specific disputes about the law as applied to particular people. To be heard in court, a person must have
