The Left´s Greatest Mind-Trick:
Politicizing Emotion

American Thinker, by Kyle Becker

Original Article

Posted By:magnante, 1/9/2013 2:50:29 PM

The greatest mind-trick in the left´s entire arsenal is politicizing emotion. Once one accomplishes that, there is no limit on a government´s mandate to take action, since there are no rational limits on emotion. (snip) Now consider the case of gun control laws, which have no factual evidence to back up their effectiveness, given real-world constraints. Guns cannot be un-invented -- only taken away and put into some people´s hands, but not others. But since guns make leftists feel yucky, it´s best to have the government make them disappear.

Excellently written and true. The left is all about manipulation and emotional blackmail, echoed constantly on television (The View, morning shows, left-themed dramas) and in other media. If the Left had been running Mitt´s campaign, they would have put Ann Romney in a wheelchair to speak to the nation, instead of that jazzy red dress. Dishonest, but that´s how it is done when you need to counter the Dem-imposed image of Romney as an out of touch gazillionaire who doesn´t feel our pain.

An important read!
Why, as conservatives, do we get so frustrated trying to have a normal, intellectual conversation with a liberal? The author explains why.

Rush Limbaugh was saying much the same thing 20 years ago. Feelings trump facts in the propaganda of the US Left.

It was a wise observation. And true.

There is no limit to opinions, emotions, wants, and feelings. They are open ended just as science fiction tales are limited only by what the writer´s imagination.

Using that argument there is no limit to what the State can force upon an individual or everyone.

Seldom heard Rush, my work and life didn´t permit listening to radio very often.

This is another excellent, concisely written ´must read´ posted here today. It is one to be shared with others. I plan to do just that.

The Democratic Party is the party of emotional - even hysterical - people. Politicization is not really necessary.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced on January 30th: "As correct as the policy of military restraint is, it must not be misunderstood as a culture of standing aside." In a full-page interview under the headline "Germany and the World" released later the same day, Steinmeir emphasized: "Germany is too large, just to comment on world politics." When asked if that meant use of military force as the "ultima ratio" (last resort) of foreign policy, he warned: "No foreign policy in the world can banish the ultima ratio from its political thinking." Democrats across Texas and America may be regretting their choice of Wendy Davis as the Great Feminist Hope, designated warrior in the battle to lock-up the female vote. Having raised something north of 12 million dollars for run at the Texas governorship, she has become the standard-bearer in the great crusade to turn Texas blue. But she is turning out to be something of a laughingstock, and the worst of laughingstock at that: one whose foibles reveal the conceits which define the feminist left. It seems Woody Allen has received one too many Oscar nominations. (snip) Just try watching Allen´s 1989 film Crimes and Misdemeanors after reading Dylan´s harrowing letter without throwing up. In the final ten minutes of that film, there are not one but two appalling scenes. In the first, Allen tells his on-screen sister he´s fleeing his sexless marriage and jokes "the last time I was inside a woman was the Statue of Liberty." The camera then instantly cuts to a close-up of two tiny young girls in party dresses. After that, one of the last images on screen is Allen walking

The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Tuesday that the Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by 2.5 million over the next decade. That is mostly a good thing, a liberating result of the law. Of course, Republicans immediately tried to brand the findings as “devastating” and stark evidence of President Obama’s health care reform as a failure and a job killer. It is no such thing. The Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare, became law almost four years ago. It became operational last Oct. 1. Yesterday, Feb. 4, 2014, the ACA may well have been dealt its death blow. The Congressional Budget Office released a major study of the government’s budget and its effect on the overall economy over the next 10 years. In dull bureaucratic language, it delivers a devastating analysis of the inefficiencies, ineffectualities and problematic social costs of ObamaCare. The one-two punch: Virtually as many Americans will lack health coverage in 10 years as before the law was passed — but 2 million fewer
