On Tuesday night’s broadcast of “The O’Reilly Factor,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer said President Barack Obama will show “who he really is” in his second term. According to Krauthammer, Obama is already making good on his March 2012 comments to then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he would have “more flexibility ” after Election Day. “I think what’s happening here is that in his second term, Obama is going to show who he really is,” Krauthammer said. “Remember what he said to the Soviet president, ‘After the election, I will be more flexible,’
Comments: You mean he hasn´t already? Oh man, we´re really in trouble.
The problem is not with him; it is with us, the voters. Isn´t it obvious? We do not want our children´s goodies handed to us by formerly successful leaders; we want them from people who have never accomplished anything in their lives. It is more symmetrical that way.
Yesterday on one of these threads I referred to his nibs as “Second Term President Flexible.” Today I’m thinking “Second Term Commissar Flexible” is even more appropriate. In order to get through the next four years, I wonder if I’m going to have to acquire a taste for blini and borscht. Gag me with a hammer and sickle? Nyet!
Some of my public union friends have just noticed that their social security payments are no longer being discounted. Their reaction: "What?!? Our taxes went up!" Those making over 200K just discovered that their medicare payment is going up .9%. It´s not even January 10 yet. For those of us who already knew ´who he really was´, it´s nice to see the sheeple wake up, but terrible to see this happen to the country.
OH,comeon the MSM knows he is amuslim comminunist taking our country down ,indebt to communist China submissive to Russia and letting Iran run over most of the middle east and in opinion making most of our people dependent on the government free stuff.
Instead of verbally beating up Dr Krauthammer and Karl Rove for nonsensical reasons , the far right should wake up and smell the coffee or the sulfur. The circular firing squad , which always seems to be initiated by the far right , only helps Obama. In 2014 , if the House flips to the Democrats ( they just need 18 more seats ) and the Democrat Senate increases their numbers further, there will be nothing..nothing..Republicans can do to halt Obama his last 2 years in office. Nothing. The very limited legislative options that Republicans have now -will disappear . That is a nightmare scenario , which will no doubt include Supreme Court Justices. Krauthammer makes the point that Hagel will devastate the military as Obama desires, without Obama getting his hands dirty. Republicans do not have enough members in the Senate to prevent Hagel from being confirmed . And maybe if the far right had listened to the advice of Krauthammer and Rove and not made so many unelectables the nominees, the Senate would not be so heavily Democrat and House Republicans ( and the country ) would be in a much stronger position.
Does anyone trust Obama to respect the Constitution? Tinfoil hat time. I have a sense of foreboding that Obama will use his second term to do things that would have been unthinkable in the past. He seems to be laying groundwork as we speak. I believe he is preparing for insurrection. Insurrection he instigated BTW. Therefore, controlling guns and/or ammo will be essential. That he is starting now is not surprising. Call me a kook but something like an assassination attempt would be all he would need to assume "temporary" dictatorial powers to freeze the sale of guns and ammo. These could be the longest four years in recent history.
Who even bothers to listen to the conservative blowhards anymore? We are screwed, plain and simple. Save your money, gun up, and prepare for the manure to strike the overhead. And don´t waste time on the conservative talk factory of Fox/Rush/Hannity/Ingraham et al.
Nothing makes me sicker than these holier-than-thou talking heads who loftily lectured all of us on the great historical significance of electing this first African-American (who turns out to be a half white Kenyan) and we should all embrace this and sing Kumbaya lest we be painted as partisan racists or whatever blah blah blah. Krauthammer was leading the pack on that theme and now dares to think he can explain to us who this guy really is. His opinion means nothing.
On Tuesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “The Five,” network contributor Juan William opened the program by sounding off on MSNBC regulars Al Sharpton and Michael Eric Dyson, both of who have been very outspoken in the wake of this month’s George Zimmerman verdict. One of the targets of Sharpton and Dyson’s ire has been “The O’Reilly Factor” host Bill O’Reilly for his comments on problems in the black community in the wake of the Trayvon Martin tragedy. Williams admonished Sharpton and Dyson for their efforts to vilify O’Reilly, noting there was some truth
Political talkers Sean Hannity and Joe Scarborough are trading blows over Trayvon Martin’s personal history. Last Friday on his radio show, Hannity asked if President Barack Obama compared himself to Trayvon Martin in his impromptu remarks on the George Zimmerman murder trial verdict because “he smoked pot” and “did a little blow.” On Monday morning, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough took to his “Morning Joe” show to condemn Hannity for those remarks. “Really?” Scarborough said. “Is that the new standard? Would we like to go across college campuses in America and tell all white boys that if they have marijuana
On Friday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer predicted that if the Mohamed Morsi regime and the Muslim Brotherhood chose the route of going to war by creating its own military and fighting Egyptian forces instead of seeking a peaceful solution, the Muslim Brotherhood will lose. “[The Muslim Brotherhood] is obviously the largest, the most organized and disciplined of all the elements, all the parties in Egypt,” Krauthammer said. “However, it is not a majority. It isn’t even close to a majority. And what was so remarkable about the
Earlier this week, the Supreme Court rules the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional, with the historical swing vote on the panel, Anthony Kennedy, siding with the majority. In his opinion, Kennedy was particularly harsh on DOMA proponents, suggesting they were supporting a law that was discriminatory on various levels. That opinion drew the wrath of National Review columnist Mark Steyn. On Hugh Hewitt’s radio show on Thursday, Steyn criticized Kennedy’s opinion, calling it “pathetic” and “immature” for not acknowledging the arguments from the other side. “To be honest, you know, the gay marriage issue, I think
On Andrea Tantaros radio show last week, conservative columnist and author Pat Buchanan warned of an unintended consequence of the immigration reform bill, a bill which doesn’t place a high priority on assimilation. According to Tantaros, her previous guest, former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey, said that the immigration legislation funnels money to so-called community organizing groups like La Raza with the idea of teaching immigrants “American history, the Constitution and civic participation.” That leaves open the possibility of activist groups teaching with a partisan slant — and impedes assimilation.
Former National Security Agency analyst Russ Tice, a Bush-era whistleblower, has recently made some startling claims that the federal government’s wiretap endeavors targeted high-ranking government including military officials, lawmakers and diplomats. One of those target wound up being elected president. In appearance on “The Boiling Frogs Show” on Wednesday, Tice made the astonishing claim that the NSA had ordered wiretaps on phones connected to then-Democratic Senate hopeful Barack Obama in 2004, weeks prior to his breakout at the 2004 Democratic Convention in Boston. “Now, here’s the big one,” Tice said. “I haven’t given you any names.
On Thursday, South Dakota Republican Sen. John Thune proposed an amendment that would require 350 miles of double-layer fencing before any legalization illegal immigrants can begin. That double-layer fencing in his proposal was part of the 700 miles already required by a 2006 law, where only 36 miles have been completed. Then, according to the amendment, the other 350 miles must be completed before any green cards could be issued to those in the country illegally. But that amendment offered by the chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, the third-highest ranking position in the Senate GOP caucus
On Thursday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” conservative talk show host Mark Levin reacted to recent revelations that the National Security Agency had been collecting the phone records of millions of Verizon customers. He said that the NSA news in addition to other openings for intrusion by the federal government are the makings of a “police state.” “I tell you what I make of this — we have the elements of a police state here, and I’m not overstating it,” Levin said. “When you step back and realize the Supreme Court the other day ruled
On Dennis Miller’s radio show on Thursday, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to what Miller called “the new normal” — lowered expectations for the American economy — calling President Barack Obama a “fraud” and comparing him to “a Wizard of Oz.” “It is amazing, and there are two parts to that,” Krauthammer said. “The first is, ‘You didn’t build it.’ This is the ideology of, you know, ‘I built the roads, I gave you your grade school.’ And thus, if you invent the iPad, I did it, you didn’t — which is just preposterous. And the other part
Although they’re known to butt heads occasionally, Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly and left-leaning Comedy Central host Jon Stewart agree that the recent scandal involving the Department of Justice monitoring journalists is cause for worry. “I got to tell you something and I hesitate to say this — but, boy, is that a troubling scandal,” Stewart told O’Reilly on Wednesday’s “The Daily Show.” “I don’t know exactly what this is, but it appears that the Department of Justice is really overreaching with journalists,” Stewart continued. “And that is upsetting.” Later on in the segment, Stewart asked O’Reilly, the author
Radio host Dennis Miller and National Review columnist Mark Steyn considered Thursday the possible outcomes if the United States continues down the path of socialism. If socialism became the prevailing governing philosophy, Miller speculated, escaping it wouldn’t require a move to the Australian outback. Instead he suggested heading for the state of Texas, because it would be the first place to push back against it. “If I ever do flee, don’t think fleeing has to involve you going over to Alice Springs or something,” Miller said. “I’m going to Texas because that’ll be the first place that pushes
Conservative radio talker Mark Levin appears to have touched off the investigation into Internal Revenue Service targeting of conservative political groups back in March 2012. In a letter last year on behalf of the Landmark Legal Foundation, an organization he heads, Levin requested an investigation into what he called “misconduct.” On Friday, the Internal Revenue Service revealed that it had improperly targeted conservative groups for audits during the 2012 election. During a conference call, Lois Lerner, the IRS’s director of exempt organizations, explained that IRS staffers selected groups that
There have been days since her son Ezekiel was born 11 months ago that Los Angeles mom Beth Capper has gone without food to keep up her supply. One friend was arrested for stealing some. It´s not drugs or alcohol or even baby formula that has put her in such a bind. It´s diapers. "There´s no way around buying them," said Capper, a 41-year-old single mother who doesn´t work because of a disability. Across the country, mothers like Capper are facing the same predicament. According to a report published Monday in the
Conservative bloggers went wild Monday when they got wind of the Congressional Black Caucus’ suggestion that President Obama pick Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston for the post of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Rich Cooper, avid blogger for Security Debrief, responded to the news of the Jackson Lee recommendation in a post by saying, “Apparently, it is not a joke. For reasons that baffle any sense of reality, it is a serious gesture on the part of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to encourage President Obama to nominate Rep. Jackson Lee
It is a small Alaskan village whose inhabitants have relied on the sea for countless generations. But within a decade, it is expected that the ocean which the village of Kivalina has so relied on will completely destroy it--creating America´s first climate change refugees. Temperatures in the Arctic region of Alaska are warming twice as fast as the rest of the U.S, causing ice to retreat, sea levels to rise and coastal erosion to increase. A year after resigning from congress over his first sexting scandal, Anthony Weiner claimed that he was a mellowed out new father working every day to be a better husband by doing chores around the house. "Every day since this has happened, I´ve tried to become a better person, a husband that Huma deserves and as good a father as I can be," Weiner told People Magazine in outtakes released Sunday from his now infamous July 18, 2012 interview. "I´ve explored every way to try to do those things and I´m committed to continuing on that path."
Anthony Weiner may have violated federal law when he failed to disclose his lavish six-figure wedding in his financial disclosure forms, says a government accountability group. Ethics watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center examined the federal Financial Disclosure Reports for both Weiner and long-suffering wife Huma Abedin for 2010, the year of their wedding. The cost for the ceremony was at least $100,000 but probably ran closer to $250,000 including all
America is in great shape energy-wise. We have more gas and oil reserves than ever before. Indeed, the United States could shortly become the world’s largest exporter of coal. Our cheaper power rates may bring energy-intensive industry back from Europe and Asia. If America’s small colleges are nearly broke and our public schools failing, nonetheless our blue-chip universities’ math, science, and engineering departments, and professional schools, remain the best in the world. Many low-income families receive government assistance to help them purchase food and housing. Diapers are another story, a new study suggests. In what they are calling the first peer-reviewed study to quantify diaper need, Yale University researchers have found nearly a third of mothers cannot afford to purchase their infants diapers, raising health risks for not only babies but for moms who become stressed over the finances. "Notably absent from the antipoverty efforts targeting families is an essential staple for the health of children, diapers," wrote the researchers, led by Dr. Megan Smith,
In an interview on National Public Radio (NPR), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said her new agenda for women will give mothers access to day care so they can “earn without carrying the burden of child care.” During the interview, aired on Weekend Edition Sunday, Pelosi spoke about her newly announced agenda, which is on her website, and is titled, “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families,” a plan that includes universal pre-school and access to day care for working women, and an increase in the minimum wage.
Mideast: The sequester has "cost jobs," says President Obama, and "gutted investments in education and science and medical research." But somehow he´s earmarked $500 million for Hamas terrorists. Circumventing Congress and with no fanfare, President Obama last week issued an executive order enabling him to send an additional $500 million directly to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank — much of which you can bet will wind up going to the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization. According to Obama, "it is important to the national security interests of the United States to waive the provisions of" Congress´ legislative restrictions "in
The mother of Trayvon Martin said Monday that she believed Florida’s Stand Your Ground law played a role in her son’s shooting death, but she wasn’t ready to support a boycott of the state for not changing the self-defense law. “The thing about this law is I just think it assisted the person who killed my son to get away with murder,” Sybrina Fulton, the mother of the 17-year-old from Miami Gardens, said at a National Bar Association event in Miami Beach. “I think we have to change these laws so people don’t get
A group of experts advising the nation’s premier cancer research institution has recommended sweeping changes in the approach to cancer detection and treatment, including changes in the very definition of cancer and eliminating the word entirely from some common diagnoses. (Snip) The group, which includes some of the top scientists in cancer research, also suggested that many lesions detected during breast, prostate, thyroid, lung and other cancer screenings should not be called cancer at all but should instead be reclassified as IDLE conditions, which stands for “indolent lesions of
