| One of the least-wise provisions of the Affordable Care Act is a plan to fine firms with over 50 employees that don´t provide health insurance to their workers to the tune of $2,000 per full-time worker. The natural response for many firms is to do exactly what Ned Resnikoff reports some Wendy´s and Taco Bell franchisees are doing and cut workers´ hours to below the 30 hours per week threshold, thus avoiding the fine. And 401(k)s are huge generators of capital in this country. Why buy insurance until you have to? ObamaCare has "guaranteed issue" provisions as well - wait until you get sick and buy it then. Insurance companies can´t refuse to cover you, or charge you more.

In ABQ NM, they just raised the minimum wage $1/hr on January 1st, to $8.50.
I´ve had to scramble to figure how to keep my business doors open with 35 employees wanting that raise.
The gov´t sure makes it tough to operate a business !

BOISE, Idaho — Authorities in eastern Idaho are investigating the shooting deaths of two men and a woman whose bodies were found in a home that contained a marijuana grow operation. The deaths took place sometime between Thursday afternoon and evening by someone who had some type of relationship with the victims, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said. The bodies were discovered Friday outside Holbrook, a town of about 400 people just north of the Idaho-Utah state line. Authorities said a 2-month-old was found under the arm of one of the victims — 27-year-old Yavette Chivon Carter.
