BBC [UK], by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:Attercliffe, 1/8/2013 6:17:39 AM

The unemployment rate across the eurozone hit a new all-time high of 11.8% in November, official figures have shown. This is a slight rise on 11.7% for the 17-nation region in October. The rate for the European Union as a whole in November was unchanged at 10.7%. Spain, which is mired in deep recession, again recorded the highest unemployment rate, coming in at 26.6%. [Snip] Greece had the second-highest unemployment rate in November, at 20%. The youth unemployment rate was 24.4% in the eurozone, and 23.7% in the wider European Union.

Europe taxes people until their eyeballs bleed then wonder why the economy isn´t picking up..
it´s pretty bad when Bridgette Bardot picks up and moves to Russia.

Of course the US economy being in the tank is dragging Europe down with it but not to worry,Obama can bail them out too.(Just not out in the open.)

It really pains we to say this, but Krugman is starting to look correct about austerity. Reality is reality.

Obama administration is acting like

The Obama administration has been accused of behaving ´like a bunch of cowards´ after 19 embassies were closed in the wake of the Al Qaeda terror alert. Louis Gohmert, a Republican congressman from Texas, recalled the September 11, 2012 terror attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Clinton famously suggested in a Senate hearing that it was largely irrelevant whether the attack was the result of a terrorist plot or--as the administration initially claimed--an outgrowth of a spontaneous anti-U.S. protest. Anthony Weiner´s past has caught up with him as an angry former constituent went on a tirade during a campaign stop on Monday. [Snip] ´You are disgusting! You are an embarrassment of a third-generation native,´ Jane Borock screamed while getting in Weiner´s face. According to The New York Observer´s Politicker blog, the disgraced former congressman tried to calm her down by saying that he appreciated her passion, but that didn´t work. ´I’m passionate? More passionate than you on Twitter. I’m a social media expert. Get someone to handle your s*it! You are disgusting. Disgusting,´ she said.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - State Sen. Lee Bright has brought his campaign website online as he considers a Republican primary challenge against U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham next year. The website asks people to sign up for Bright’s newsletter, promising to send them a video announcement the moment he decides to run against Graham. It includes the slogan: “Bright. For Liberty. For Senate.” The Roebuck lawmaker says he is waiting to see how the field shapes up before making his formal announcement. Bright was elected to the Senate in 2008. Two other candidates are already in the race.

Why al-Qaeda in Yemen
scares the West
BBC News [UK], by Frank Gardner    Original Article

Whatever plot the US eavesdroppers overheard the top two al-Qaeda leaders discussing clearly rattled the US intelligence community so badly that Washington shut 19 of its diplomatic missions around the Middle East, Asia and Africa. In the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, where the threat of attack is considered greatest, the UK, France and Germany have also shut their embassies. The British embassy has emptied completely, with all remaining British staff leaving the country on Tuesday, while the US air force flew out American personnel. So just what is it about al-Qaeda´s branch in Yemen that triggers such warning bells in Washington?

An interesting spot by Political Scrapbook that says a lot about the politics of the English Defence League. This morning Tommy Robinson (or Stephen Yaxley-Lennon or Andrew McCaster or Flimbo the Amazing Clown or whatever his name really is) tweeted a link complaining about mass immigration under Labour--and it turns out that the link was to an anti-Semitic website. It´s called The Traitor Within (never a good sign) and after detailing New Labour´s nefarious plan to flood the country with good plumbers, it concludes with a paragraph claiming that the ministers involved in its immigration policy "are all Jewish".

Four Al-Qaeda militants have reportedly been killed in a US drone attack in Yemen. It comes as America has warned all ´non-essential´ US citizens to evacuate Yemen immediately amid fears of a terrorist attack. The UK Foreign office has also withdrawn embassy staff from the country and is advising against all travel there. The U.S. has pummeled terror leaders in Yemen with targeted drone strikes. Yemeni security officials have today said a suspected U.S. drone killed the four alleged Al Qaeda members in a volatile eastern province of the country. The drone fired a missile at a car carrying

Somewhere down there, Richard Nixon must be rubbing his hands with glee. The Graham family have been forced to sell The Washington Post--the liberal newspaper that helped bring down Tricky Dick with its coverage of the Watergate burglary. Nixon hated the Post for the not unreasonable reason that it hated him. It wasn´t just the pursuit of Watergate that irritated, but the climate that the daily helped create of liberal disdain for his presidency--its insistence that anyone with a fully functioning heart and brain voted Democrat. That attitude wouldn´t have mattered if print didn´t enjoy such a monopoly over the

US intelligence picked up on messages in which Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden´s successor, ordered Nasser al-Wuhayshi, the head of its Yemen branch, to carry out an attack. The messages represent rare coordination between al-Qaeda´s core leadership, which is in hiding in Pakistan, and al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), the terror group´s most dangerous offshoot. In response the US has ordered the unprecedented closure of embassies in 19 countries across the Middle East and Africa until at least Saturday. Britain, Germany, France and Holland have also closed their embassies in Sana´a, the Yemeni capital, until later in the week.

In 2008 and then again in 2012, after retired four-star General Colin Powell endorsed and then voted for Barack Obama, the former Secretary of State´s sanity was already in question. At least now, after having his email account hacked by high-level security-breacher Guccifer, Colin Powell´s besmirching of the Republican Party´s "shift to the right" and "identity crisis" finally makes sense. It seems that for years the mannerly and always professional Colin Powell has been cyber-comporting with a 46-year-old Romanian European Parliament member, Social Democrat, and past spokesperson for Romanian president Ion Iliescu named Corina Cretu

For nearly a year, we have had no answer to why the administration lied about Benghazi — why it told the world, not to mention the parents of our murdered SEALs at the funeral of their sons, that the cause of that fatal conflagration was an anti-Islamic video no one saw, when the various arms of our executive branch (White House, State and intelligence) already knew, or strongly suspected, it was a terror attack orchestrated by al-Qaeda affiliates. You only have to read the now infamous talking points to know that. That this lie was deeply immoral is obvious.
