Killer goes on a weeklong murder spree, killing 9 people and wounding 13 more, targeting police in particular. Yet his name is lost to obscurity and the spree is not part of Our National Discussion About Guns.
Turns out (all the way down in paragraph 9) that not unlike "DC-area Sniper" John Allen Muhammad and Lee Malvo, this killer was a Black Panther sympathizer (or member, sources differ) who targeted white people. Imagine if a white guy went around killing black people; there would be national holidays named after each victim.

He was a shooter not a sniper. A demented black man with a lot of hate towards whitey, but no sniper. I´m surprised they didn´t call his .44 carbine an assault rifle. I am very pleased that he is no longer with us, it was a horrible thing that he did, but with the divisiveness that is being promulgated by this administration I expect to see more like it.

The report to be released Monday by the Drug Policy Alliance shows 4 out of 10 county jail inmates have been granted bail but can´t afford to post it.
