Bank of America has reportedly frozen the account of gun manufacturer American Spirit Arms, according to its owner, Joe Sirochman. In a Facebook post dated December 29, Sirochman wrote the following: “My name is Joe Sirochman owner of American Spirit Arms...our Web site orders have jumped 500 percent causing our Web site e-commerce processing larger deposits to Bank of America. So they decided to hold the deposits for further review. “After countless hours on the phone with Bank of America, I finally got a manager in the right department that told me the reason that the deposits were on hold

Comments:
If true, time to cancel all Bank of America accounts.

I closed my accounts as soon as I found out BofA offered free wire transfers to Mexico from illegals.

Move the account immediately. Refinance all loans with someone, anyone else.

Another thing manufacturers can do. Insist that your vendors not send any checks/transfers drawn on BoA. Otherwise they lose your business.

I have a BoA credit card that was never used. Think its time to cancel anyway but now I have added incentive.

I´m wondering....since the right to own a gun is in the Bill of Rights and subsequently is a "civil right" can a bank deny anyone their civil right?

A lib friend who works at HSBC says the federales are putting pressure on banks to prove there is no money laundering going on. It´s a case of guilty until proven innocent. The banks, not wanting any more fed scrutiny, take the low road and close or suspend any accounts that may displease the regime.

I´m betting that pressure was applied from outside. B of A is in serious, big $$ negotiations with the Obamarrhoids in connection with the mortgage fiasco.

Declaring war on your own customers is some business plan. But B of A routinely scrapes along at the bottom of the customer satisfaction charts. They don´t care. And clearly they no longer want American Spirit Arms´ business. I´ll bet there is an independent local bank in Scottsdale that does. Processing these types of payments is childs play.

Oh, and B of A´s other corporate customers should take note of this. Today they decide they don´t like their customers selling AR-15 rifles. Perhaps tomorrow it is sugary soft drinks, meat, vehicles powered by internal combustion engines, or maybe anything whatsoever associated with coal or oil. They can´t say they weren´t warned.

The holier-than-thou and easily offended people have permeated all levels of our society. If they had just stopped with smoking, it would have been okay. Now, though, they will soon be forcing bald men to wear wigs or get transplants or whatever. And if you don´t have washboard abs, then you will automatically have the local gyms dues deducted from your pay check and the IRS will have another form for the 999th required behavior, etc. form them to monitor.

Almost 3 years ago BoA noted a $200 collection account on my credit report. They immediately took over $20,000 of available credit from my credit cards. The collection account was bogus, and I easily had it removed, but BoA would not re-instate my credit, causing my credit score to go from above 700 to very close to 600. My credit was ruined through BoA´s actions. I was never late nor did I ever pay the minimum due.

I will dance an Irish jig on their grave when they go bankrupt, may they rot in hell.

What is the difference between that and this? Other than you agree with one and not the other. You thought it a good thing for those in power to regulate the behavior you did not like.

I don´t understand anyone banking with BOA. I quit them 27 years ago. Even my Obama voting relatives don´t bank with this pathetic excuse for a bank. The same goes for Wells Fargo.

Years ago, wife and I closed our Bof A accounts and switched to a smaller bank- a Credit Union. B of A was doing all sorts of funny accounting and fees we often had no idea what they were and the bank could not tell us a reasonable explanation. We just got fed up with them and never went back. I always had the feeling B of A was happy to see a small timer family account go, anyway.

This is old news! BofA has been doing things like this in the past. We pulled our accounts years ago from them when they got "PC" on us. (I believe it was when they, like Wells Fargo, pulled their funding from The Boy Scouts in favor of FaXXs, and then made a big deal about it)

Folks, as much as I dislike BofA this is not a witch hunt on guns manufacturers. This is Standard Operating Procedure for acquirers regardless of business. It is a good practice to reduce fraud.

RALEIGH -- Republican Pat McCrory became North Carolina’s 74th governor Saturday in a brief, simple ceremony that nevertheless marked a major shift in political power in the state. It took only several minutes for McCrory, a 56-year year old former Charlotte mayor and former utility executive, to take the oath of office in the old Senate Chambers in the historic Capitol. The parade, balls, inaugural address and other celebrations surrounding a new governor will occur over the next week.

Argentine lawmakers approved a bill lowering the country’s voting age, a move that could rally youth support as President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner tries to revert a slide in her popularity ahead of congressional elections next year. The lower house approved the bill in a 131-to-2 vote yesterday, converting Argentina into one of only a handful of nations where 16-year-olds can vote. The government-backed bill, which passed the Senate in early October, allows young people to cast ballots two years before voting becomes mandatory at age 18.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school.
