Earlier this month, Dennis Miller mentioned on his radio show that many comedians perform at police benefits just to get these cards. After they gave him his card, he looked at it for a while, thinking about the implications. He threw it out. Good call.

Here in PA, I have to chuckle at the sight of FOP tags affixed to state plates or personalized tags which have the FOP logo imprinted on them. There will always be suckups in all areas of life. Nothing surprises me!

New York — Federal mortgage payment relief has been extended up to one year for more than 200,000 homeowners whose houses were damaged by Superstorm Sandy. U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan announced the extension for homeowners with Federal Housing Administration-insured loans on Friday. A previous mortgage payment extension for federally-backed home loans was set to expire on April 30. About 286,000 homeowners with FHA-insured loans were affected by the late October storm, with nearly 96,000 in New York. Donovan said the 12-month extension was meant to help homeowners still struggling to rebuild avoid foreclosure.

The Navy’s cancellation of Blue Angels 2013 air shows extends past the federal fiscal year ending in September means the November 1-2 Homecoming Show at Pensacola Naval Air Station has been scrapped too. “It’s not just the fiscal year,” said Navy Lt.
