New York police union cards, which officers give their friends and family as ‘get out of jail free’ cards for minor offenses, are selling on eBay for as much as $100 a pop and city authorities are fuming, the New York Post reports. The union cards are meant to be used to prove that a police officer can vouch for another person, though holders often use them to get out of minor incidents like parking and speeding violations.(Snip) The cards that represent officers of a higher rank are reportedly worth more because they carry more weight than a street patrolman’s

Earlier this month, Dennis Miller mentioned on his radio show that many comedians perform at police benefits just to get these cards. After they gave him his card, he looked at it for a while, thinking about the implications. He threw it out. Good call.

Intravenous vitamin C – combined with conventional chemotherapy – can kill cancer cells, the University of Kansas Medical Center reported. In a study of 27 patients newly diagnosed with stage 3 or stage 4 ovarian cancer, researchers found that patients who received a high-dose of intravenous vitamin C, along with conventional cancer therapy of paclitaxel or carboplatin, experienced fewer toxic effects from the chemotherapy drugs. Researchers also conducted a rodent study and observed that an intravenous infusion of vitamin C was able to kill cancer cells without noticeable toxicity or pathological changes in the liver, kidney or spleen. At least 70 percent of asylum applications showed signs of fraud, according to a secret 2009 internal government audit that found many of those cases had been approved anyway. The 2009 fraud assessment, obtained by the House Judiciary Committee and reviewed by The Washington Times, suggests a system open to abuse and exploitation at a time when the number of people applying for asylum in the U.S. has skyrocketed, particularly along the southwestern border. Another report obtained by the committee suggests that the government isn’t detaining most of those who apply for asylum, including those awaiting a final judgment.

Vilsack spoke at the White House as the Obama administration announced it is creating seven regional hubs to help coordinate and distribute information about the effects of climate change. The hubs will be based at Agriculture Department facilities. They’ll assess local climate risks, such as

Girls as young as ten are being sent to initiation camps in Malawi to be taught about how to have sex and in some cases lose their virginity. The girls are told by their families they are attending a camp with their friends, but when they arrive they are shown how to have sex and told they must lose their ´child dust´ as soon as they can or they will get a skin disease. Republican state lawmakers are working on a bill that would force Gov. Bill Haslam to get their permission before expanding Tennessee’s health insurance program for the poor. A House committee voted Tuesday to approve a bill that would bar the governor from unilaterally expanding TennCare, the state’s Medicaid program. The measure’s sponsor, state Rep. The Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare, became law almost four years ago. It became operational last Oct. 1. Yesterday, Feb. 4, 2014, the ACA may well have been dealt its death blow. The Congressional Budget Office released a major study of the government’s budget and its effect on the overall economy over the next 10 years. In dull bureaucratic language, it delivers a devastating analysis of the inefficiencies, ineffectualities and problematic social costs of ObamaCare. The one-two punch: Virtually as many Americans will lack health coverage in 10 years as before the law was passed — but 2 million fewer

Mr. Obama wants Americans to believe that the targeting resulted from the confusing tax law governing nonprofits, which he says was "difficult" to interpret and resulted in mere "bureaucratic" mistakes.
