Connecticut Lawmaker Introduces
Bill to Publish Names,
Addresses of Gun Permit Holders

Breitbart Big Government, by Dr. Susan Berry

Connecticut State Representative Stephen D. Dargan (D-New Haven), co-chairman of the state’s Public Safety Committee, has introduced a bill that would make public the names and addresses of gun permit holders in Connecticut under the state’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Dargan’s bill is in response to the Dec. 14th shootings in the Sandy Hook School in Newtown, CT, and also occurs as a Westchester County, NY newspaper, the Journal News, is drawing widespread, nationwide anger for publishing a map with the names and addresses of gun permit holders. The bill, if passed, would reverse the state

Of the ten amendments in the Bill of Rights, only the second requires governmental permission to exercise it. This is wrong on its face.

Now, governments are demonstrating they can NOT be trusted with gun registration information.

The time is finally right to demand unfettered second amendment rights.

How about a registry of all government employees?

Both of the above are paid for with our tax dollars; we have a right to know.

If all gun owners are potential killers because of the murders in CT, then given what happened on 9/11 all Muslim Americans should be viewed as potential killers and as such, their names and addresses should be published too.

Guns are among the most prized items to be found by burglars. They will wait until gun owners go to work, then try to find the hidden guns, trashing the house in the process.

Since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, almost 700,00 American male homosexuals have died from the HIV-based disease. If public safety was truly the motive for these grand-standing politicians, then publishing the names and addresses of the far more dangerous HIV carriers would have happened decades ago. Doing so then could have saved over a half million lives.

Actually, the burglars will target both kinds of homes. What they will do is use the information to know how to approach each. If it is a gun owner, wait until nobody is home and then look for the gun. If it is a non-gun owner, it doesn´t matter if the people are home. You can threaten them with the gun you took from their neighbor anyway. This is great for burglars and robbers of all kinds in all ways. I agree with #12. At this point, it doesn´t pay to get a gun legally. It is almost worth taking the risk of not registering it.

What the statists don´t seem to understand is this; legal gun owners are, by and large, a peaceful lot. They also don´t understand that many legal gun owners are familiar with the original intent of the 2A.

Eventually, the useful idiots or the just plain evil are going to push the issue a bit too far and set off the powder keg.

I pray to God that this doesn´t happen, but it´s starting to look like the country is careening toward a 21st century Lexington and Concord event. It sucks.

There´s a crime wave going on right now, thanks to the Obama economy. One method the crooks are using is to ring a doorbell, and if the homeowner answers, ask if they can retrieve a ball from the yard. If the homeowner doesn´t answer, they break in.

Surely, people that inventive won´t have any trouble tapping a database to find houses with or without guns.

Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. We can debate whether that’s true but there’s nothing offensive in raising the subject.

Hers, however, is an eloquent silence. The most intrusive and potentially most punitive federal agency has been politicized; the IRS has become an appendage of Barack Obama’s party. Furthermore, congruent with exhortations from some congressional Democrats, it is intensifying its efforts to suffocate groups critical of progressives, by delaying what once was the swift, routine granting of tax-exempt status. One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Democratic Party owes its success in the last two presidential elections almost entirely to overwhelming support among the very young, which has overcome continued conservatism among older voters. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations. And its latest survey shows again how the liberalism of the youngest voting cohort, millennials, remains firm, and likely to continue to recast the electorate. A few charts from the survey
