Sandy Victim: Obama
is a ‘Straight Out Liar’

National Review Online, by Nathaniel Botwinick

Original Article

Another of Hurricane Sandy’s victims expressed his disgust with the president this afternoon: “He’s a phony, he’s a liar. Straight out liar. He said to me, face to face, that, ‘he’s going to cut the red tape.’ We’re two months now, and no red tapes been cut. He told me things are going to be taken care of, FEMA has to listen to him.” Also, as a bonus, wait for his take on the extension of unemployment benefits.

That´s all the text. There is a longer video.

It´s rather sad that it takes something like a hurricane before people actually notice that the *only* genuine concern Obama has - is for *his* ego. Most of us wised up to that fact about 45 minutes after he was sworn in the 1st time.

America is one giant photo-op for the clown in chief. In a equitable world, his nose would put Pinocchio´s on the short list...

It may be unfair to the president to call him a liar and a phony over something like this. He could well have meant what he said when he said it. It just wasn´t important enough to him to remember and to do anything about.

The silence and torpor of the Republicans in failing to parlay this and other missteps by the administration into political muscle is, of course, typical. Our team doesn´t know how to play anything but defense - and as we have seen, they are not all that great at that.

The Republican party, like the NRA, desperately needs the services of a top notch PR firm.

Liar is quite accurate. Obama knew that the constraints could not be loosened.

If Obama had paid any attention to the past four years, he would know it is impossible to cut red tape for anything but immediate emergency supplies - food, water, emergency shelter. In this day and age, the ´Alfie DoLittles´ are legion - They will find a way to consume any and all relief funding available (think debit cards for Grey Goose vodka and casino holidays).

Sandy is Obama´s Katrina, and the media is giving him a pass. Most of the Katrina victims were portrayed by the media as poor blacks, while most of the Sandy victims are portrayed as middle class caucasians. In either case the federal government is showing it´s total incompetence in handling major disasters.

For months, the governor’s race in Virginia has unfolded beneath a cloud of scandal over the Republican incumbent that spread to his would-be Republican successor, Kenneth T. Cuccinelli II. But now a potential scandal also threatens to distract the campaign of the Democratic candidate, Terry McAuliffe. An electric car company Mr. McAuliffe founded is a target of an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, government documents show. The venture, GreenTech Automotive, was already a flash point because of the failure of enthusiastic promises of jobs made by Mr. McAuliffe, the former Democratic fund-raiser known for his showmanship

Maybe he should’ve been less diplomatic. Colin Powell just couldn’t give his flirty Romanian pal the heave-ho, despite her numerous needy rants at the bitter end of their racy relationship, the pair’s hacked e-mail exchanges show. Instead, the married Powell, 76, continued to keep the line open throughout 2010 and 2011, as European Parliament member Corina Cretu, 46, whined in her e-mails about their past cyber-flirtations — and scolded him for being slow and icy in his replies. The former secretary of state urged Cretu to delete all the suggestive e-mails as soon as he discovered that the notorious hacker

It has become increasingly clear since President Barack Obama’s reelection that he and his administration intend to govern as they wish, pushing as far and as fast as they can against constitutional and other legal limits which have constrained previous administrations. It has also become more than obvious that it is willing to hurt those who might get in their way, and to exploit others whose help they can co-opt to accomplish their agenda. In essence, Obama and his administration are telling America’s institutions, its states, its legal framework, and Americans in general: “Bleep you.”

In the two months since Edward Snowden began to expose the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs, we’ve heard two different stories about them. Snowden and his collaborator, Glenn Greenwald of the Guardian, have claimed that the programs allow NSA analysts and contractors to spy indiscriminately on Americans. U.S. government officials have told us that the programs don’t allow this. Who’s telling the truth? The answer, for the most part, is both. The two sides are using different definitions of allow. Snowden and Greenwald are telling us what’s technologically possible. The government is telling us what’s legally permitted.

The Labor Department reported Friday that the economy added 162,000 jobs in July, after adding 188,000 in June. Unemployment fell to 7.4 percent, largely because 240,000 adults left the labor force. Businesses continued the shift toward contingent workers. In July, 103,000 more Americans reported working part-time. The growing importance of services like retailing and hospitality, and the rigidity and visceral anti-business campaigns of unions drive this trend; however, Obama Care’s mandates for employer paid health insurance coverage also impel the use of more part-time workers. Overall, the jobs count may be up but for most working families

The former information technology director for State Attorney Angela Corey is suing for wrongful termination. Ben Kruidbos sued Corey’s office Thursday saying he was illegally fired in June after he testified that prosecutors did not turn over all information to George Zimmerman’s defense team in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. He is asking for $5 million or more in damages and his job back. The lawsuit states Kruidbos could not be fired for testifying in a judicial proceeding in response to a subpoena. It also argues that the firing was retaliation for his testimony in the Zimmerman case.

Embassies in Europe and Latin America would be shuttered that day anyway.

The nation´s most active death penalty state is running out of its execution drug. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice said Thursday that its remaining supply of phenobarbital expires in September and that no alternatives have been found. It wasn´t immediately clear whether two executions scheduled for next month would be delayed. The state has already executed 11 death-row inmates this year, and at least seven more have execution dates in coming months. "We will be unable to use our current supply of phenobarbital after it expires," agency spokesman Jason Clark said. "We are exploring all options at this time."
