Illinois ‘Denny’s’ Tells

A manager at a Denny’s Restaurant in Belleville, Ill. told plain clothes detectives that they couldn’t carry their guns into the restaurant, after a customer saw the weapons and apparently reported them. The detectives had their official IDs visible, sources say, but were still told to take their weapons outside. Mike Gallagher and Alan Colmes debated on today’s America Live, questioning whether or not this latest incident is an after-effect of the recent shooting in Connecticut. Gallagher, for one, believes it is. "It’s happening because of all the hysterics that are taking place all over America in

How did things get so bad so quickly?? That moron would probably be singing a different tune if those detectives saved him from an armed robber. Man, these people are insane.

You know you can´t fix stupid.

The fact that they were Cops with ID made no difference. Amazing ignorance on display here.

Would the moron that complained feel safer if no Cops had guns?

I´ve frequented a local Friendly´s for breakfast and there are often some state troopers eating there. I assume they had their guns with them. It´s great seeing them there and several times I paid their tabs anonymously. The waitress told me that other patrons have done so as well.

ON the other hand, why should American citizens have their right to carry weapons into Denny´s if they so desire abrogated by the state? It´s a civil right, regardless of your employment, perhaps Denny´s hates all gun carrying citizens equally and the police are getting a taste of their own medicine - since in Illinois you know they´d be all over a non-police citizen exercising their constitutional rights to bear arms, concealed or otherwise.

One thing I don´t understand. These detectives were supposed to be undercover. If so, why was one allowing her gun to be seen? Wouldn´t that alert any criminal that these people were cops? Or at least drug dealers, who don´t allow others to intrude in their territory.
As for the manager, when the police revealed their badges was the time to back off.

If you don´t like Denny´s policies relating to cops carrying guns while they eat on a duty break, there is only one thing to do, don´t patronize Denny´s. With this fiasco Denney´s probably turned off half the country.

If that restaurant gets robbed or has a big fight in progress wrecking the joint, who is Denny´s going to call?

Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012.
