No lawyers will represent India
´gang-rape´ defendants on
"moral grounds"

Mirror [U.K.], by Staff

Original Article

Five men were today charged with the gang rape and murder of a student in India but the suspects have no legal representation because lawyers are refusing to defend them. Amid furious mass protests after the attack on a bus, the Delhi Bar Association said that on “moral grounds” none of its members would act for the accused men. The suspects were hooded and handcuffed by police today but did not appear in court because of fears that angry mobs would try to exact revenge. Bus driver Ram Singh, 33; his brother Mukesh, 26, who is a bus cleaner; 19-year-old fruit seller

Comments:
One billion Indians and not a single lawyer among them willing to defend these evil ogres. I hope the six maggots are terrified.

They can´t be hanged without a trial, and they can´t be tried without defense counsel.

Note, BTW, none of them is named Mohammed.

Notice the difference in the morals of India vs. ours.I´d hate to think how many gang rapes happen in this country every day but they don´t even make the paper.

There´s lawyers in this country who would take their case in a minute because of the free publicity that comes with it.The more heinous the crime, the more a left wing lawyer licks his chops.

In a way,I envy India because their sense of morality is so much better than ours.

Not to jump willy nilly to the defense of U.S. lawyers, but these monsters would get representation here not necessarily because all defense attorneys are sleezy publicity seekers but there are actually some who sincerely believe that everyone is entitled to due process under the law. It´s a critical concept under our Constitution. I would not want to live in a place where citizens are willing to throw that protection out the door whenever a heinous crime is committed.

Just skip the trial and ask the mob in front of the court house what should be done to them. Not all criminal defense attorneys are "criminal loving liberals." Republican defense attorneys take their oath to support and defend the constitution seriously. Our constitution recognizes basic rights such as the right to be presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and the right to due process. Our founders knew what they were doing. It takes no moral courage to refuse to represent someone that the mob wants to tear into. What would Atticus Finch do? I bet there were lots of folks the lawyers would not represent on moral grounds during the French Revolution. Cowards. By the reasoning displayed here, no one should represent the "Travon Martin Defendant".

The article does not say whether these men were Muslim, but these are not Muslim names. A poster has said the youngest perpetrator was the worst of the lot. She must have read that elsewhere because it is not in this article. Not that the degree of cruelty is relevant.

The youngest one helped to lure the young woman on the bus(?). He raped her twice and tore out her intestines with his bare hands - bare hands! Yes, the most despicable one is the youngest though those who participated and witnessed the barbarity of this rape should be publicly castrated and then hung in my opinion.

Thank you, #5. You have touched upon the key point in this affair. Under our American rule of law, the accused is innocent until proven guilty. Under the rule of Media, it is good enough just to be accused (it´s the seriousness of the charges, not the weight of the evidence).

If these defendants are found guilty after a reasonably fair trial, then all bets are off. Until then, the real shame lies upon all those who are demanding instant ´justice´.

KANO, Nigeria – A child bride forced into marriage in Nigeria killed a groom and three of his friends with a poisoned meal, police said Thursday. Fourteen-year-old Wasila Umaru was married last week to 35-year-old Umaru Sani, according to assistant superintendent Musa Magaji Majia. Over the weekend, the groom invited a dozen friends to celebrate at his Ungwar Yansoro village, about 60 miles from the northern city of Kano. The teenager told police she bought rat poison at a village market and used it to prepare a dish of rice. "The suspect confessed to committing the crime and said she did it because she

A Nevada cattle rancher appears to have won his week-long battle with the federal government over a controversial cattle roundup that had led to the arrest of several protesters.
