New York - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton briefly left the hospital where she is being treated for a blood clot in her head for testing on Wednesday, officials said. Mrs. Clinton was photographed leaving the hospital shortly after 3:00 p.m., but officials said she was only having tests done at another location. She was back in the hospital about an hour later. Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland says Clinton had been "quite active" on the phone Wednesday with State Department aides. She says doctors will continue to monitor her progress. Clinton was admitted to a New York hospital Sunday
If she is re-admitted within 60days the Hospital will be liable for a Major Fine(Tax?) under the NEW Obamacare Laws. Uhmmm...since she checked herself out without being released..can her insurance company now cancel her coverage?
What sort of hospital is she in that she had to leave to have tests done and then come back? I´ve never heard of such a thing. If a hospital can´t take care of your needs, they usually transfer you to a better equipped hospital and you stay there. What could she have been doing in that hour...?
#8, depends what "Russian press" means. I´m guessing it was a tabloid and Russian tabloids are no more reliable than those in other countries. I wouldn´t put too much stock in Pravda or Izvestia, either. Additionally, it was not the "EU" who released the same information, it was an EU tabloid.
There was one report that she had a hematoma, epidural or subdural, I don´t know. You don´t walk away from the hospital with that until surgery is done. Once again, the crooks are setting up the American public for something.
#14 and #21, I imagine this was a photo op since so many have been writing "where´s Bill and Chelsea?" A person can choose to leave a hospital without being checked out, but then their doctor may not give them prescriptions I´ve heard. You have free will, and a hospital isn´t a prison. Some stubborn people decide they´re ready to go home before doctors are ready to release them. The article said she went somewhere for tests. While that´s possible, I´m skeptical about that story along with all the rest.
No one seems to have read the article. She left the hospital building to go to another medical building on the hospital campus for a test.
Here you go - spoon fed:
Mrs. Clinton was photographed leaving the New York-Presbyterian Hospital building where she has been since Sunday shortly after 30 p.m., but officials said she was only having tests done at another location on the medical campus. She was back in the hospital about an hour later.
An MRI comes to mind. These are often in separate, specially constructed buildings.
Sometimes we really sound silly when we run around blathering without having read the article...
Re #22, after a fall and a head bump, my late Mother suffered a subdural hematoma that caused her to have a seizure several weeks later. She did not require surgery of any kind. Was treated in hospital and eventually released. She suffered no lasting effects. And she was somewhat older than Hillary.
She may have gone to another building on campus for tests but have you ever heard of someone who was in hospital transporting themselves to have a test done and then come back? That makes no sense at all to me. U just don´t trust a word I read about her any more.
Wacky Baracky made history as the first black president of the U.S.
Hillary has a very strong drive, or will, or desire, to make history, too... as the United States´ first lesbian president.
Amazingly, she´s had straight sex more than many lesbians do... Webb Hubbel (as noted above, Chelsea´s DNA Dad)... Vince Foster... and, allegedly and almost unbelievably... BillyBoob Klintoon... possibly... once a year... according to Arkansas State Troopers who were there. It´s all documented.
Today, btw, when BillyBoob Klintoon arrived at the NYC hospital and saw her face, he said... "Better put some ice on that."
Then he turned to onlookers and witnesses and said... "I did NOT have sex with that woman... "
CHEL (snapping gum and walking fast like a-hole Manhattan moneybabies tend to do): "Mom, you are SUCH a DRAG! I mean, it´s not like this is the first time you got wasted and fell on your head. Why don´t you just tell them what happened at that place over there in the desert? Nobody´s really paying attention..."
BUBBA: Wow, check out that nurse. Do you think she knows who I am?
And there you have it. Case closed. Thank you, and goodnight, America.
If she was not released from the hospital then she would have been taken to the other building by van. It seems so unlikely that they would let her go there on her own and risk having something happen to her while she´s out walking around.Doesn´t make sense.
You have to be impressed with the stuff they want us to swallow. If the hospital has to send her elsewhere, (which i doubt) they would do so in an ambulance. SHe probably didn´t like the hospital food and they went out for a round of drinks and chow. I am ruling out anything serious.
I was a medical student in Columbia-Presbyterian in the early 90´s. Most of the buildings are interconnected and there are sky-bridges. Hillary doesn´t really have to exit any building to get to another. It´s probably a scripted moment, one of the many for Bill & Hillary. I was there seeing the smoke billowing from the first World Trade Center from my dorm room. The Clintons are absolute fools when it comes to dealing with Islamists Imperialism.
Once someone goes on Coumadin (Warfarin) they are on it for life. Her health has been so badly compromised now I think it will prevent her from ever running for POTUS. If Obamacare were in full implementation today her name would be on a waiting list pending an appt let alone treatment of her condition!
Having just had a tumor removed from my brain, believe me you do not get up and walk anywhere if you have a clot in your brain, especially alone. First, that clot would make her unable to talk, or much else, depending on where it was. I am old and it has been almost a year since my surgery and I still have to use a cane and cannot walk well for very far.
The weather in winter in NYC can be awful. Big NYC hospital campuses are almost always connected either by enclosed walkways, underground tunnels, or skybridges. They don´t move patients around by having them suit up in their street clothes and hoof it over to another building.
The air crash thing is intriguing, but I suspect plastic surgery, or else Hillary´s got some serious illness and they´re not admitting it.
DETROIT — In a ruling that could reverberate far beyond Detroit, a federal judge held on Tuesday that this battered city could formally enter bankruptcy and asserted that Detroit’s obligation to pay pensions in full was not untouchable. The judge, Steven W. Rhodes, dealt a major blow to the widely held belief that state laws preserve public pensions, and his ruling is likely to resonate in Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and many other American cities where the rising cost of pensions has been crowding out spending for public schools, police departments and other services.
You should really just read the entire piece by Amy Goldstein and Juliet Eilperin in today´s Washington Post, which is a great account of where things stand now with HealthCare.gov. These two paragraphs, taken together, jumped out at me especially in explaining the challenges that the website now faces. Paragraph one: The enrollment records for a significant portion of the Americans who have chosen health plans through the online federal insurance marketplace contain errors — generated by the computer system — that mean they might not get the coverage they’re expecting next month.
President Obama is striking a dangerous balance. Starting today, he must simultaneously refocus Americans on the potential benefits of Obamacare without shredding his credibility further by minimizing its flaws. That dilemma had White House officials twisted in knots Monday. On one hand, they acknowledged that the cornerstone federal website is not working as smoothly as it should. But you could hardly hear the disclaimer over the din of spin, as the White House launched an aggressive "offensive" from a defensive crouch. "Healthcare.gov met our self-imposed November 30th deadline and even as we continue to make improvements to the website, we´ll also remind
Some people who have managed to complete the burdensome and glitch-filled process of signing up for Obamacare are learning they are not really enrolled at all. "Obama administration officials acknowledged today that some of the roughly 126,000 Americans who completed the torturous online enrollment process in October and November might not be officially signed up with their selected issuer, even if the website has told them they are." Technical problems transferring information from the website to insurance companies have troubled the system since the program´s rollout. Experts report that the website appears to function properly, but in the back end of
President Obama intends to enroll for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters Monday. “I know that he will, and has said that he will, or the White House has said that he will,” Carney said, “but I don’t have any update.” White House officials did not clarify whether the president’s interest is part of a public relations demonstration aimed at touting an improved HealthCare.gov website, or if Obama intends to alter his federally provided medical coverage. As with his predecessors, Obama’s health care is provided through the Defense Department as a federal
The House’s chief investigator says the FBI is stonewalling his inquiry into whether the agency and the Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative group True the Vote for special scrutiny, and Rep. Darrell E. Issa is now threatening subpoenas to pry loose the information from FBI Director James B. Comey Jr. Mr. Issa, California Republican, and Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican, are leading the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s IRS inquiry. They also said the FBI is refusing to turn over any documents related to its own investigation into the IRS, which began in the days after an auditor’s report revealed
The Obamacare insurance marketplace is even more vulnerable to security breaches since the administration “fixed” Healthcare.gov, according to a cyber security expert.Health and Human Services (HHS) released a progress report on Sunday following its self-imposed Nov. 30 deadline to repair the website, saying that the “team has knocked more than 400 bug fixes and software improvements off the punch list.” The administration said that the “site capacity is stable at its intended level,” though the site continued to crash on Monday. The eight-page report made no mention of the website’s numerous security flaws, which experts say put Americans’ personal information at risk. “It
The White House is denying a report that President Obama is hatching plans for a visit to Tehran. We wouldn’t want to say we don’t believe the White House. But neither would be surprised if a presidential trip is being explored. A summit with the Iranian mullahs, or their “democratically elected” front-men, must be awfully tempting to Mr. Obama. How else to avoid a debacle in the 2014 by-election, after the end of illusions in respect of Obamacare? The report that Mr. Obama is planning a trip was reported by one of the three biggest Kuwaiti papers, Al-Jarida. It plays into
Winds were calm in the capital on Monday, except in the immediate vicinity of the White House, where gale-force exhalations were blowing out of the West Wing. After the administration’s claim Sunday that star-crossed HealthCare.gov had been repaired with “private sector velocity,” and the site’s relatively smooth functioning on Monday, Obama administration officials moved with aerospace-sector velocity to celebrate meeting their self-imposed deadline.
Maybe someone can explain to me how, exactly, conservatives are the aggressors in the culture war? In the conventional narrative of American politics, conservatives are obsessed with social issues. They want to impose their values on everyone else. They want the government involved in your bedroom. Those mean right-wingers want to make "health care choices" for women. Now consider last week´s decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to consider two cases stemming from Obamacare: Conestoga Wood Specialties v. Sebelius and Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores. Democratic politicians and their fans on social media went ballistic almost instantly. That´s hardly unusual these
The UN´s senior counter-terrorism official is to launch an investigation into the surveillance powers of American and British intelligence agencies following Edward Snowden´s revelations that they are using secret programmes to store and analyse billions of emails, phone calls and text messages. The UN special rapporteur Ben Emmerson QC said his inquiry would also seek to establish whether the British parliament had been misled about the capabilities of Britain´s eavesdropping headquarters, GCHQ, and whether the current system of oversight and scrutiny was strong enough to meet United Nations standards. The inquiry will make a series of recommendations to the UN general assembly
President Obama needs to fire himself. Not literally, of course, but practically: He needs to shake up his team so thoroughly that the new blood imposes change on how he manages the federal bureaucracy and leads. A series of self-inflicted wounds during his fifth year in office, capped by the botched launch of the Affordable Care Act, have Americans questioning the president´s competence and credibility. History suggests that second-term presidents rarely recover after their approval ratings fall as much as Obama´s have this year. History also suggests that there are two types of White House shake-ups. The first is mostly cosmetic and
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
America is facing a wave of strikes by its fast-food workers on Thursday a day after Barack Obama warned that inequality in the USA had soared to the point that it now posed "a fundamental threat to the American dream". Low-paid workers in McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other fast-food outlets in 100 cities across America were due to start rolling strikes to protest at the low level of America´s $7.25 (£4.45) federal minimum wage. The strikes are the latest part of a mushrooming publicity campaign for higher wages among those working so-called "McJobs", with fast-food restaurants seen as a
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
The president put in his ask to Disney CEO Bob Iger at a private meeting with entertainment moguls during his Nov. 26 visit to Jeffrey Katzenberg´s DreamWorks Animation. [snip] If you have any doubt as to how much of a sports junkie Barack Obama is, check in with the entertainment moguls who attended a private briefing with the president Nov. 26 before his speech at Jeffrey Katzenberg´s DreamWorks Animation campus in Glendale. At the end of the conversation -- which touched on a myriad of topics, from piracy to Iran -- Obama revealed what´s at the top of his bucket
A new report from the Texas-based Quorum Report, published by longtime Texas journalist Harvey Kronberg, says that House Speaker John Boehner plans to push amnesty legislation through the House, after the primary filing deadline for candidates. The move would prevent Tea Party from challenging GOP lawmakers who support amnesty in 2014. Scott Braddock reported on Tuesday that “in recent weeks, various Texas business interests have told Quorum Report that Boehner has been telling them that he will start holding immigration votes not long after the filing deadline has passed.”
Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) on Tuesday reintroduced legislation that would require the government to study the most practical ways of taxing drivers based on how far they drive, in order to help fund federal highway programs. Blumenauer´s bill, H.R. 3638, would set up a Road Usage Fee Pilot Program, which he said would study mileage-based fee systems. He cast his bill as a long-term solution for funding highway programs, and proposed it along with a shorter-term plan to nearly double the gas tax, from 18.4 cents to 33.4 cents per gallon. "As we extend the gas tax, we must also think about
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
