Why the 2nd Amendment
Townhall, by Walter E. Williams

Original Article

Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., shootings, said: "The British are not coming. ... We don´t need all these guns to kill people." Lewis´ vision, shared by many, represents a gross ignorance of why the framers of the Constitution gave us the Second Amendment. How about a few quotes from the period and you decide whether our Founding Fathers harbored a fear of foreign tyrants. Alexander Hamilton: "The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed," adding later, "If the representatives of the people betray their constituents,

It´s really not so hard to understand. The people who would institute endlessly invasive and increasingly powerful Government are well aware of what stands most between what they want and what they are currently capable. The Second Amendment is designed to protect us from our own Government. Anyone who plays the "British Are Coming" card is either laughably ignorant or deliberately lying.

It is not just to protect life and property from government. It is to protect from mobs and rioters. In the aftermath of the LA riots it is clear which store owners were armed and unarmed.

If I thought we could spare a tragedy like Sandy Hook from occurring by my turning in my firearms, I´d do it in a heartbeat.

Convince me, liberals! Until then, I´ll continue to believe that an armed society is a polite society, and that I have a God-given right to protect myself and my family, should the need arise.

Another "civil rights" leader has lost his way. He might want to repeal the 14th Amendment along the way. After all it was passed to let the freemen have such rights as to KEEP AND BEAR ARMS.

The headline on the front page of the New York Times said it all: "Women in the Senate Confront the Military on Sex Assaults." In a triumphalist article showcasing the growing numbers of women on the Senate Armed Services Committee, "one of the Senate´s most testosterone-driven panels," the story line presents female Senators attacking male military officials over charges of sexual assaults against women in the armed forces. Us-against-them stories are great for generating excitement in the media and in politics.

If you listen to liberals, you´d think that Rush Limbaugh is the de facto boss of the entire Republican Party. So, if they´re going to portray him that way, then it seems like a good idea to give people -- who have yet to listen to his radio show --information about his message that goes beyond out-of-context quotations supplied by liberals who loathe him. There are millions of Republicans, myself included, who became conservatives because of hearing quotes like these from Rush Limbaugh.

In recent columns, I´ve mentioned a disturbing trend involving the lack of due process in the adjudication of campus rape cases. The fact of the matter is that rape cases are rarely handled properly on university campuses. They are usually either a) taken too seriously or, b) not taken seriously enough. That is unsurprising, given that rape is both the most over reported and under reported crime in America. To say that rape is the most over reported crime in American is to say that there are more false allegations of rape than of other serious crimes like robbery, burglary,

I used to be caring and compassionate and liberal. I supported gun control and the “right” of the government to seize a large chunk of my paycheck in order to plan my retirement for me. But, somewhere, somehow, along life´s twisted way, I became a greedy capitalist pig. And, truth be known, it´s affecting my entire neighborhood. It all started on New Year´s Eve when my friend Adam came by to help me with a small project inside the house. On that Eve, Adam informed me that my property wasn´t exactly looking like the Garden of Eden.

Progressives can’t help themselves. When normal person hear of a tragedy, they feel the natural range of emotions – fear, anger, sympathy, etc. But progressives are not normal humans. When they hear news of a tragedy their first thought is “How can this help the cause?” There’s something oddly perverse about this mental defect that somehow overrides decency in tragedy’s aftermath, but it’s as widespread amongst the political left as freckles are on redheads. Harsh? Perhaps. But sometimes the truth hurts.

Why Don Opposes Capital Rape
Townhall, by Mike Adams    Original Article
Posted By: lcl4- 4/19/2013 7:43:10 AM     Post Reply
Don is angry with me. He cannot understand why I support punishing rapists with death while simultaneously defending the rights of the unborn. He accuses me of applying double standards, promoting hypocrisy, and of being "inconsistent." But I am perfectly consistent in my beliefs. And, truth be known, so is Don. The reason so many people are unfairly labeled as "inconsistent" is because the term "double standard" is applied in such a haphazard fashion. People are actually guilty of applying a double standard when they treat two identical things differently.

Kathryn Riffenburg decided on a closed casket for her baby´s funeral. She didn´t want her family to see what whooping cough, her son´s first illness, had done to 9-week-old Brady Alcaide. The nearly forgotten disease, which has in recent years afflicted thousands of Americans, left Brady´s tiny body swollen and unrecognizable. So his mother dressed him in a white baptismal suit and hat and tucked him into a tiny white casket. Brady´s burial came just four weeks after his first laugh — inspired by her version of I´m a Little Teapot — and two weeks after his family learned that he had

When friends and family members gathered recently at the White House for a private celebration of Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday, one of the invited partygoers was a former paid FBI Mafia informant. That same man attended February’s state dinner in honor of French President Francois Hollande. Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. That spells trouble for Democrats, who are already facing
