Shell drilling rig grounds off
Kodiak Island after towlines

Royal Dutch Shell’s Kulluk drilling rig, re-secured to two vessels with towlines early Monday, grounded around 9 p.m. in rocky water off the southern coast of Kodiak Island during a pounding Gulf of Alaska winter storm, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. A command team that includes Shell briefed reporters on the disaster with the Kulluk late Monday night. It broke loose from a Shell-contracted ship, the Aiviq, around 4:40 p.m. Monday. Then around 8:15 p.m., with the grounding imminent, the second tow boat, a borrowed tug named the Alert, was directed to lose

Predict that the Dems will use this as an excuse to stop all drilling off the coast of Alaska.

An inside source and someone who knows, tells me this particular rig is from Venezuela.

He also informs that this situation is not right and is very concerned as to its occurring.

He further mentions a major drug running scandal at an Alaskan military base involving that same nation.

The true scale of this scandal is being covered up.

Stay tuned on this one ...

Read between the lines.
This event is labeled a disaster and that the rig is on the rocks.
Facts:
1. No one has been hurt
2. The rig has a reinforced hull designed to handle heavy ice
3. The rig is not on the rocks, it is on a sand and gravel beach
4. There is no sign of any spillage – zero
Breathless enviro-journalists are a little too shrill over the situation. There’s a bif difference between danger and disaster, and the blame game is being overplayed here.

Author states this to be a ´constroversial´ drilling platform....

This is constroversial only if they do not have all necessary legal permits from the enviro-nazis, feds, local authorities, etc.

What IS constroversial is America´s so-called energy program.

Rockets strike Israel, jeopardizing truce talk

JERUSALEM — The Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad said Thursday it had agreed to halt a wave of rocket fire on Israel, signaling an end to the heaviest fighting between the sides since 2012, though soon after the announcement two rockets fired from Gaza exploded inside Israel. The Islamic Jihad denied it launched the attack and it wasn´t immediately unclear who fired the rockets. Cease-fire declarations have not always been honored by militants and the barrage raised doubts about the cease-fire offer made by Islamic Jihad. The Israeli military said a total of four rockets were fired Thursday from Gaza.

Stunning new details concerning the disastrous launch of Obamacare in Massachusetts — released by state health officials only after persistent inquiries by the Herald — reveal what experts say are even more alarming calamities in the early development of the failed website than previously reported. Gov. WASHINGTON — As the Republican field for 2016 stands today, Hillary Clinton doesn’t have much to worry about. In fact, for all the talk about Benghazi and Obamacare, she has a lot to be happy about. The drum-beating of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference — the GOP’s pre-presidential coming-out party — gave us a glimpse of the Republican future. And for the GOP, the future is bleak. Sen. Rand Paul officially won CPAC’s presidential straw poll. His message of libertarianism plays well with the small government crowd. But it is hard to see how he makes the sale in

SEVASTOPOL, Crimea – After blocking Ukrainian military bases in Crimea on Sunday, Russia issued ultimatums to the Ukrainian army and two ships on Monday to surrender or face a “military storm.” “If they (Ukrainian troops) do not give up by 5 a.m. tomorrow (March 4), there will be a real storm of subdivisions and units of Ukraine´s military forces all over Crimea,” Russian Black Sea Fleet Commander Aleksandr Vitko was quoted by Interfax news agency as saying. Russia’s Foreign Ministry denied information about ultimatums as “utter nonsense.” The Ukrainian defense and foreign ministries insisted that ultimatums were, in fact, real,

Military groups and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are vowing to fight proposed cuts to the Pentagon budget set to be unveiled next week that could increase the cost of living for American troops, veterans and their families. The military spending plan outlined by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on Monday calls for smaller pay rises and controversial reductions in housing allowances, health benefits and other subsidies for service members and retirees. "We know the Defense Department must make difficult budget decisions, but these cuts would hit service members, making it harder for them and their families to make ends meet,”

(Ukraine) Naftogaz, Ukraine’s state-owned oil and gas monopoly, has threatened 11 oblasts with gas supply cuts for falling drastically behind on their bills totaling some $3 billion, which, coincidentally, is the rough equivalent of what Russia’s Gazprom said Ukraine owed it. Naftogaz said on Feb. 13 it will imminently reduce gas deliveries to a “technical minimum.” Company spokesperson Olena Yurieva said that means enough will be given for pipes to not freeze. Energy experts disagreed on how much room temperatures will drop as a result. Oleksandr Todiychuk, head of international energy club Q-club, told Kommersant that temperatures could drop to

(Kyiv, Ukraine) Open warfare broke out on the streets of Kyiv today, with at least 22 persons reportedly killed and more than 1,000 people injured. It was a day of non-stop bloodletting, smoke, fire and screeching ambulances. The death toll was likely to rise as police went on the offensive after sundown, advancing on thousands of protesters on Independence Square at 8 p.m. with gunshots, a water cannon and an armored personnel carrier. Tents housing protesters were burning on the main square, a fire fueled by protesters with tires as a defense against police attacks.

(Israel) The Australian Woodside Petroleum company signed a $2.5 billion deal to enter the Leviathan gas field in offshore Israel. The owners of Leviathan were in Australia this week to try to finalize a year-old non-binding deal, worth up to $2.3 billion, The Australian daily reported. Woodside will pay more than it had originally offered to enter the gas field because its owners want to pipe much of the gas to Turkey and other regional countries. Pipeline exports to Turkey require less development spending, which would increase the value of the gasfield.
