OK, so I tried to compose something different that was just as heartfelt and sincere as all the previous posts. But the posts before me say it all. This is the first site I check when I go to my computer and is always the last I check before turning in at night.

Our dogs are freaked out with the fireworks going on around the area. So I keep leaving and coming back. When I re-read what has been written already, I realize someone just said what I would have liked to have said.....So, I’ll just add my contribution to the table and thank you all for always being there.

I tossed most of 2 bricks of cream cheese in the blender.
Added about a cup of mayo and about a 1/2 cup of sliced
jalapeños from a jar ( I started with about 1/3 cup and added
a little more as I blended to taste).

I added about a Tablespoon of the jalapeño juice because it was
pretty thick and a little heavy cream too - I had some in the fridge
from Christmas...Maybe a 1/4 cup or so until it was the proper
thickness.

My husband tried it and thinks it tastes just like jalapeño poppers. The only thing I’d do differently is not make so much. I was just trying to use up things in the fridge.

I hope you enjoy it. Oh, there goes another fireworks BANG! There go the dogs,
headed downstairs....

Bless every one of you. Wishing you all the very best in 2013.

There´s never been a more vindictive, unsuitable person in the White House.
The good news there are at least one million
good citizens watching, or trying to watch his every dictatorial move. Bilary´s in bed with another even more evil than she is, and right now her life is on the line and she knows it and remembers Vince, Ron, all The Friends of Bill who died prematurely
over one hundred victims.
Lucianne, one of America´s finest fighters for truth and honesty, and the 24/7 superb news gathering and attitude pushing that you do like no other....the most serious, and soooo funny on top of it all. I love you

Let´s make 2013 the year we organize to fight back. This country is too precious to mourn its loss and move on.

Happy New Year all you wonderful people. Lucianne and staff, thank you so much.
We opened our bottle of champagne and toasted along with Rio de Janeiro. No need to stay up late with Ryan Seacrest.

Big yellow dog is curled into a ball under the table. She DOES NOT like fireworks. There have been many days lately when I´ve wanted to do the same. This too shall pass; we only have +-1480 days to go...

We put our Army daughter on the plane yesterday and she is on her way back to Korea after spending two weeks leave with us so I´m feeling a little blue. Want to wish all of you, Lucianne, the staff, as well as all of the posters a very Happy New Year. As a New Year´s resolution, I encourage all of you to spend time in prayer every day for our country.

Wishing everyone here a wonderful New Year. Pray for our country. There are laws of nature that cannot be thwarted that will be coming into focus soon. Debts must be paid. You can´t print money indefinitely. So pay off your houses. Plant a garden. Keep your loved ones close. Pray. We will be ok.

Thanks to Lucianne for keeping me sane.

Happy New Year to one and all! Thank you Mrs. Lucianne and staff. What a terrific job you all do. Thank you for this great site. Right now I am still making the rounds, so many good friends already here to say hi to and hug, but please save me a spot at the bar. I haven´t had a drink since Nov. 6 and I need one after that shocker.
Little he is not in command, God is. Never give up hope.
I wish you all a very Happy New Year with all the very best of God´s peace and blessings.

So, let´s all lift our glass to Lucianne for providing this party for us, and to each other for being who we are.

Happy New Year friends!

Eagles Up and Happy New Year to All L-Dotters. Special 365 days a year thanks to the staff at Lucianne for keeping us all sane and heading in the right direction.

Been down so long that it looks like up, especially since Nov. 6th. Still, glad to see that the One dropped 5 points in approval rating this week. Begging people to attend the coronation also bespeaks a loss of glow for the annointed one. Hoping for millions more to have their eyes opened in 2013.

I want to say thank you Lucianne for giving us this site and The Connection. When my husband passed Sept. 2011, my friends on The Connection helped me through and prayed for my husband and family. Going into 2013, I´m hoping to start realizing a new normal and help my kids continue to heal.

My kids are watching a New Year´s Eve special this evening -- waiting for the ball to drop -- and every 5 minutes my son walks in to tell how inappropriately the ladies in there are dressed. Now he´s screaming at his sister to turn it off! Got to go!

Happy New Year LDot friends!

Hope everyone had a big family Christmas and continue with a happy New Year and a prosperous one. Forgive the typing - brain surgery did nothing good for my skill. I want to thank the best hostess of all time and the trouble and work put into this site. We all know who I am talking about. Love the fellow posters and look forward to their posts. I am not going to mention the O word or politics. I am crazy enough with that subject.
Love to all and let´s have a better year, this one was a doozy of face slaps to Republicans. My Posey cat is trying to get on my lap so I cannot type. She pretty much does as she pleases. Goodnight and will check for more posts later on.

If you are in a partying mood with friends, let me pass along my friend So. Africa friend Petr´s family recipe for holiday punch:

Fill you largest punch bowl to within 1/2" of the top with Kentucky sour mash bourbon.
Add 1 cup of your favorite fruit juice and several ice cubes.

Stir well. Repeat process if necessary.

CHEERS!

Echoing so many previous sentiments - thank to our lovely and gracious hostess, who I want to be like when I grow up, and her staff. Pinchem, what a marvelous New Year´s greeting! Photoonist, Hazymac, CAP marine, and others no longer here, we love and miss you.

There is so much over which to be discouraged. I am determined to not cave in. I think L.Dotters were somehow inoculated against Statism and the nasty germs that bring it on.

At least now the progs are starting to talk about the Constitution rather than simply pretending it doesn´t exist. The piece in the NYTimes today on scrapping it will be helpful to us in crafting counter arguments.

May God look with favor on his humble servants and hear our cries and prayers for this grand nation. Love to all and Happy New Year from Ramona (the Pest)

I, honestly, would like to thank everyone here. But I´ll start with the staff. I had several problems this year when Lucianne.com changed servers. I couldn´t access the site because I live outside the US, in the Philippines. I inquired and with no prodding or pleading on my part the staff stepped right up and fixed the problem. You girls and guys ( I mean men and women) didn’t have to do that. I appreciated it very much. Next I´d like to thank the article posters. You folks keep me and many American Ex-Pats around the world up to date on events in the land of my birth. I love the United States but I fear for the future. I will be moving all of my assets out of dollars this year because I despise Obama´s incompetence, blithe mendacity and unhinged narcissism. And finally I want to thank my fellow posters. I very much enjoy your views. I don´t always agree but it gives me a good idea as to how people in America, right now, see current events. Have a great "Year of the Snake" .

I raise a glass to Lucianne and the staff for what they do and to my fellow posters for their wisdom and fortitude. I also miss Photoonist and Cap.

I was also in a dark place after the election. Took me a while to recover from the shock. (Here´s irony for you: I had predicted the electoral count 331-207. It was 332-206. Phenomenal guess, right? Except I had Romney winning.)

Over the years, some of you have asked me to put together a collection of my satire posts which appeared here and at Breitbart´s during my time as a contributor there. I´m working on it.

The tentative plan: an e book, $0.99, proceeds to be donated to lucianne.com. I´m figuring about 80-100 ´´columns,´´ with the material updated and revised. Target: spring.

Have purchased my ´´Publishing E-Books for Dummies´´ but haven´t cracked it yet. I said ´´tentative´´ earlier because I don´t know yet what difficulties might present themselves to cause me to drop the project: writer´s block, lack of experience in self-publishing, unforeseen obstacles/costs, so forth. Best laid plans, etc. We´ll see.

Happy New Year to Lucianne, Steadfast Staff, and fellow Ldotters from balmy Mat-Su Valley. Our mini Schnauzer, Natasha, has had two doggy downers and is still unsettled by the fireworks. My neighbors must have money to burn (literally), as they have been setting of fireworks yesterday evening and tonight for the past four hours.

I heard a strange noise a bit ago and thought the wind was blowing something about. It was a moose that´s been hanging around our backyard who was also agitated by the fireworks; sounded like a very large horse snorting. I don´t have enough doggy downers to help him and wouldn´t want to try and dose him either. I guess the dogs won´t be going outside for a while; they´ll just have to hold it a bit.
Dear Lucianne and Friends I haven´t forgotten the goodie box; just got delayed a bit.

Here´s an easy hot dip for you to try: Artichoke dip
8 oz. cream cheese (soft), 1/2 c. mayo, 14 oz. can artichoke hearts, 1 c. parmesan cheese, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder. Combine in blender or processor. Bake at 350 about 15 minutes, till bubbly.
Enjoy and a blessed New Year to All.

Special New Years Gift.

Ms Lucianne may have a file of WRT´s somewhere, however, I have been collecting a few (25) WRT´s throughout the past 10 years and finally have them cataloged, zipped and online. You may peruse the list and feel free to download any you wish to read. With some of the older ones, it is sort of like walking through Memory Lane.

There are multiple pages in each WRT so I zipped them up to keep them together. You can use pkunzip or rar to open them to read. Enjoy

Happy New Year

My hope for 2013 is that we might return our country to that which was bequeathed to us by our forefathers. Their one fatal design flaw was in neglecting to give us term limits, so we must limit the terms ourselves if we are to save this great country.
This will necessitate the expulsion of all house and senate members who come up for election in 2014, with the exception of the few who stood by the Constitution and limited government in recent votes. We need to work in 2013 toward that end as we approach the 2014 elections. And yes, even my representative and yours need to go!

#159, Happy thought but not realistic. Think...let´s take the Senate that has majority of Democrats. If we threw out all those up for reelection in 2014 that means we lose all Republican Seniority and the Democrats will control the Senate until those die off and the newbees gain Seniority (in how many years?).

We may have to hold our tongue and keep some we may not care for but just remember, MAJORITY is what RULES in both the House and Senate.

#161 Seniority has not been working for us. They just become infatuated with their own power. I am sick of the current system that results in 5 people telling the other 535 how to vote!!!! We have no representation under this system of power brokers. Our only hope is to clean house...and senate. Cut off the nose and the face.

Since the early dark days of the Clinton era, our gracious hostess has provided an intellectual refuge for conservatives; the coffee´s always on, somebody refilled the ice cube trays, the last guy remembers to wash the brandy snifters and reorder the Hennessey. No longer content to wait two weeks for the next National Review to leave our fingers stained with blue ink, we now huddle and stay warm by the glow of Ldot. May the discussions remain intellectually honest and in good humor and may the cherished wayward regulars come back in due course to where their ideas are valued and needed.
2014 cannot come soon enough.

From snowy, brisk, and coldly crisp northern Michigan comes sincere gratitude and loving best wishes for a happy, blessed, joyous, hope-filled New year to dearest Lucianne and staff; to each and every Lucianne.com poster, reader, and commenter; to every single member of our precious military, past and present - both home and away (and all the members of their families); to every person who works daily and tirelessly to serve and protect us; and to all those who strive with their words and their deeds to preserve this great nation as the land of the free and home of the brave.

There is a pitcher of mixed Mimosas, a tray of hot Bacon-Corn Griddle Cakes along with little browned sausages, a basket of Angel Biscuits, and a festive plate of Chocolate glazed Cherry Croissants at the end of the counter for anyone who may now be looking for a little food after last night’s festivities.

To all:
"May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."

I´d love to hear your plan to throw them all out in one fell swoop in one election. Do we then become the "dictators"?

Happy 2013 New Year to Lucianne, her great team and to all LDotters present and past.

Count me in the group who can´t stomach TV news since the election. It´s old movies, reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond and the Animal Planet. Vowing to shop only the perimeter of the grocery store and stay healthy.

The Senate bill doesn´t raise taxes on the 400K crowd. Isn´t that what a U.S. President makes per year? How convenient.

Up late like everyone ushering in the new year, and side by side with a terrific win for Clemson in Chick-fil-a-bowl. Hubby, son and I will be walking on air for a while. They won in last few seconds with a 37 yard field goal. How sweet!
Pork roast in oven, with collards soaking, saffron rice and blackeyed peas all done, and hopping john in the works. We will eat up around 6 and toast our wonderful country. My Mom loves to watch the Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale - they have been having right now (on the SPEED channel) we are looking at mouth-watering cars that remind us of "the good old days" -

but then they have to have these ads for some really scary looking movie and we scramble to change the channel ASAP - don´t they know that watching these auctions is a form of escapism, of not wanting to watch the news or think about the 2012 election - but to go back in time - also, nice to see someone laying out a whole bunch of money to help support returning military and their families - so WHY do they need to have ads like this? We don´t even know what movie it is and shouldn´t they think that the people that want to watch the car auction are not the same people who want to watch these horrible movies - I just don´t get it.

And WHO ARE the people that want to go see movies like that? Mom and I think they are the ones who need to be "registered" - more so than gun owners!

Just getting this off my chest - thank you very much.

I’ve been writing about media coverage of abortion for many years. And so have many others. If you haven’t read David Shaw’s “Abortion Bias Seeps Into The News,” published in the Los Angeles Times back in 1990, you should. That report also explains why we cover the topic here at GetReligion. But the thing is that I’m getting kind of sick of pointing out egregious bias only to see things not just remain bad but get worse. Just think, in the last year, we saw the media drop any pretense of objectivity and bully the Susan G. Komen Foundation

There is a fine and often unspoken line of trust between journalists and their sources, which often takes months, if not years, to establish. Break that line with one source and you’ll face an uphill battle the next time you want to establish confidential rapport with another. But what happens when the trade off is jail time? It’s a dilemma Fox News reporter Jana Winter is facing right now, provided she refuses to reveal her sources.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript
