Appearing on NBCs “Meet the Press” on Sunday, President Barack Obama said that he cut spending by more than $1 trillion in 2011. However, the White House Office of Management and Budget says that federal spending increased by $147 billion from fiscal 2010 to fiscal 2011.(snip) In fiscal 2011, according to the White House Office of Management and Budget, the federal deficit was $1,299,595,000,000. That was up from a deficit of $1,293,489,000,000 in fiscal 2010.

So another oft-repeated lie becomes part of the American fabric, while the MSM stays complicit in its cushy role as enabler of the fiscal cliff fiasco.

He said it on a national program, and he wouldn´t lie on something so easily verified, would he?

Like all the money we HAD to spend via the so-called "peace dividend" during Bubba´s regime.

Or the notion that if we keep spending at current levels, that we actually made a cut in the growth of government by not taking the full raise due through "base line budgeting".

It is so sad that only a few tens of thousand people in four states caused this.

If the Federal Government spent $3.6 trillion in 2011 and Zippy saved a trillion, then the original plan must have been to spend $4.6 trillion. Did Gregory push him into a corner over these numbers. Betting is that the $4.6 trillion was probably the Kenyan´s DoA budget. As that didn´t get approved and spent he is claiming credit for it. This is totally bizarre.

As part of the fiscal cliff deal reached by Congressional leaders and Vice President Joe Biden last night, the so-called CLASS Act – an integral component of Obamacare – will be repealed. CLASS Act – the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports Act -- is a new long-term entitlement program that even Democrats recognized was completely unsustainable It would pay $50 per day for long-term care services for anyone who had paid into the system for five years. In order for the program to work, people would probably have to pay $3,000 per month into the system.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
