Hillary Clinton hospitalized with blood clot
Washington Post, by Karen DeYoung

Original Article

Posted By:Oblio, 12/31/2012 6:40:35 AM

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was hospitalized in New York on Sunday after doctors monitoring her recovery from a concussion discovered a blood clot, according to a statement from her office. The statement said that “in the course of a follow-up exam, Secretary Clinton’s doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago. She is being treated with anti-coagulants and is at New York-Presbyterian Hospital so that they can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours.

I´m still not buying this. Call me a "hard-sell" where this nefarious bunch is concerned. They are avoiding accountability at any cost.

Are Bill and Chelsea at her bedside? Has anyone heard anything from Bill on this? This is disturbing.

When she´s running for president in a few years, we´ll hear how she bravely fought death so that she could save us from the Republicans.

It sounds fishy to me too. How many doctors give patients an appointment on Sunday? Either she went in on an emergency or she is faking it. As long as they continue to keep the truth from the Press, they will make stuff up. PS: Heard she was at a party this weekend.

An entirely new defense for the "I can´t recall" response to interrogative questions posed. Even in her weakened position, it is a brilliant tactic. When God asks, she will have a perfect recollection. Won´t we all?

I wondered what the next ecuse would be when GOP senators wouldn´t hold hearings on Kerry until PIAPS gave a full account of Benghazi.I didn´t think they would come up with something this dramatic, even co-opting doctors at a hospital. They´re saying the clot was discovered in a follow up exam which is a surprise to me,since she never went to a hospital to begin with.

I did see a supermarket tab say the other day that she had a brain cancer scare, for whatever that´s worth.

The bandages had to stay on a couple more days.

What public figure of her stature moves around surreptitiously from home to hospital and back presumably with family coming and going to visit, all without any hospital or doctor statements or media video whatsoever. The corrupt news media´s coverage of this high government official´s medical treatment for weeks(!) isn´t even worthy of a banana republic.

Again, me thinks the bandages needed to stay on a bit longer.

Both Clintons have proven time and time and time again, that when it comes to their behavior, all suspicions are justified.

How very unfortunate that Hillary won´t be testifying...

You don´t anticoagulate for "blood clots" to the head. That might only make things worse. You do anticoagulate for blood clots to the legs (DVT) or lungs (PE), but I´m not sure why these would have occurred due to a gastroenteritis or a fall.

More questions need to be asked, but of course, they won´t.

This may be the first time I have ever felt sorry for Hillary. She is easily accessible in a public place where anyone in scrubs could put something in her IV.

I expect this blood clot to travel to her brain, encounter the worms there, and stroke her out. She´ll recover, but she´ll be paralyzed from her vocal cords down ... temporarily, of course, until she´s safely off the hot seat.

Anyone notice how John Kerry so quickly agreed that his confirmation hearings should wait until after Hill has testified? Doesn´t anyone find that odd? He knows she won´t testify. He´ll get itchy to get into the job, and start pushing to excuse her from testifying completely. ´Have a heart! Some respect! Poor Mz. Clinton is ILL! Geez, you Republicans are mean!´

And what Wepubbican will refuse him? He´ll be on the job in no time.

The press is already doing the CYA for her.
A "follow up" visit with her doctor?? There is no evidence she saw a doctor after her fall.
Pay close attention to media stories which are elaborating on a fairy tale.
AND a doctor just doesn´t "discover" a blood clot..either she was stroked out, or the clot is in her lung.

The money quote FTA: republicans have said that they are likely to hold up Kerry’s nomination hearing until Clinton testifies about the Benghazi attack, but the impact of this new disclosure was unclear.

Until or unless we hear from actual physicians (who - lets face it - could also be compromised), this is all about Benghazi and the Kerry confirmation...

#8, #10: Exactly. The media was reporting a concussion diagnosis *before* she went to a hospital. Not a single journalist noticed or was curious about her going to a hospital?
A "fall" of this kind, resulting in a concussion and a clot, must have surely left some bruises and scrapes.
This is Clinton Classic. Wag the dog. Put the story out there, and then tweak the "facts" to fit later.

This newest revelation of a pesky clot must be a response/counter to the condition Kerry won´t be confirmed until she testifies. It´s like a cold or secret war between the yes she wills and the no she won´ts.

I could never vote for any candidate for President who has a history of fainting, concussions, blood clots, memory loss ("I don´t recall"), lying (Benghazi attack followed a demonstration against a months-old anti-Muslim video on YouTube, landing in Bosnia under enemy gunfire), overt partisanship ("vast right-wing conspiracy") and incompetence (State Department´s internal report on security lapses in Benghazi).

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. VATICAN CITY—It took Jorge Mario Bergoglio four minutes to convince fellow cardinals he was their leader. Speaking in the Paul VI grand hall of the Vatican, the Argentine cardinal warned the Catholic Church against focusing too much on matters close to home—advice that came against the backdrop of a papacy that had been consumed by infighting among Vatican officials, a dwindling flock in Europe and secular trends in the West. The 76-year-old Father Jorge, as he is known back home, said Roman Catholicism needed to shift its focus outward, to the world beyond Rome—rather than being "self-referential," he said.

When President Obama gets to Jerusalem next week, one of the signals to listen for is an indication of what country he thinks he’s in. Normally this is clear when the President — any president — goes to the capital of a foreign country. He’s in whatever country the capital is capital of. But Mr. Obama has been refusing to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Not only that, but he has been refusing to admit that Jerusalem is even in Israel.

"Right now, we think it would take over a year or so for Iran to actually deliver a nuclear weapon, but obviously we don’t want to cut it too close,” the President told an Israeli television interviewer, in the process cutting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu off at the knees and giving the mullahs breathing room to keep enriching uranium.

What Rand Paul got right

I hope I´m not too late to the fight.Last week, freshman Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) held an old-fashioned filibuster against the nomination of John Brennan to head the CIA. Paul´s stated reason for taking to the floor and talking for 13 hours was that the Obama administration wouldn´t give him a straight answer on the question of whether the president can unilaterally order the killing of American citizens on American soil with "lethal force, such as a drone strike … and without trial."

No, 80 Percent of NYC High School

An unfortunate story on CBS New York Thursday carried this headline: "Officials: 80 Percent Of Recent NYC High School Graduates Cannot Read." It´s a shocker, but it´s also untrue. And to make things worse, the story that followed was riddled with typos. According to the New York Post, which reported the same story earlier on Thursday, "79.3 percent of city public-school grads who went to CUNY’s six two-year colleges arrived without having mastered the basics" of reading, writing, and math, and had to take non-credit remedial classes to catch up.

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, considered by some to be a potential Republican contender for president, apologized to Johns Hopkins University for the "poorly chosen words" he used in expressing his opposition to gay marriage last month.“I am sorry for any embarrassment this has caused,” Carson said in the letter, reported in New York Magazine.(Snip) "Although I do believe marriage is between a man and a woman, there are much less offensive ways to make that point. I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
