Chicago police backtrack after
confirming 500th homicide

Chicago Tribune, by Jeremy Gorner & Peter Nickeas

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 12/28/2012 5:46:11 PM

Hours after Chicago police listed the shooting death of a West Side man as the city’s 500th homicide of the year, the department backtracked and said the city has yet to reach the grim milestone. Superintendent Garry McCarthy had told the Tribune Thursday afternoon that the homicide count stood at 499. Hours later, Nathaniel T. Jackson, 40, was gunned down outside a store in the Austin neighborhood and the department confirmed Friday morning that his death was the 500th homicide. Mayor Rahm Emanuel released a statement noting that "Chicago has reached an unfortunate and tragic milestone."

If they count homicides anything like they count votes in Chicago, then there really have only been about 28 gun deaths there.

Well, it´s obvious to the most casual observer that Chicago really does need a whole bunch more gun laws and regulations. The ones they have now are not worth spit so they need to add a bunch with some bite. Get some more liberals in there, they can fix it. S/O

It looks like Rahm "Machine Gun" Emanuel will have to take matters into his own hands if Chicago is going to make that historic 500th homicide this year.

You know, the other day a man was shot in the head in broad daylight somewhere around Manhattan and hopped into a getaway car which was a deluxe silver Lincoln Continental and the cops actually lost the car after a couple turns by the getaway car.How can you not track down a getaway car of this distinction, unless they were told to stand down from the chase?More than likely is was a gang hit even though the victim was from LA.

The cops really don´t want to be bothered with gang related murders,so they continue to skyrocket. there may even be people who are glad these murders take place, one less criminal to worry about.

People like Rahm have no choice but to do nothing except have a sobbing press conference marking a grim milestone, which in reality isn´t grim to them at all. They don´t have the prison space, the prosecutors can´t get witnesses to testify,so they just go about their business.

Then you have Obama going on TV sobbing over some white kids being killed while being totally unconcerned when innocent black kids getting shot up.

Poverty is the universal fall guy for this behavior when there´s billions of people who live in real poverty that rarely kill one another. It´s just a plain and simple lack of respect for human life, which isn´t being helped by the abortion industry which throws human lives away on a whim.

Well, you see IL does not have concealed carry permits or recognize those of other states. The state is very tight on allowing anyone to have a gun.
That is why criminals feel safe shooting other people there.

What a bunch of maudlin nonsense. The politicians go on TV and put out teary, over-emoted BS statements that mean nothing. 2013 will see at least another 500 go down. Nothing will change because no one wants to speak the truth about the cause....black on black violence

The Chicago goons have moved to DC and now want to take guns away from HONEST citizens. Wonder why?

They can´t even keep Chicago safe (500 homicides so far this year) but they want us to be disarmed. Wonder why?

Various gov´t departments ordered more than 5 billion hollow point bullets this year. Wonder why.

Think the gov´t goons are expecting citizen unrest or violence? Think the goons want to impose martial law?

How many times is this annual Chicago murder rate, the Swiss annual murder rate? In that country every citizen is required by Law to keep and know how to use a firearm and be always ready to be called up into the militia to defend their state. So it is not simply the fault of gun ownership.
