Infectiously Positive Man Implores Americans To Pay Down The Debt By Donating From Their Paychecks

| When is the power of positive thinking not sufficient to solve to a pressing problem? Most of the time, actually, but particularly in the case of America’s spiraling national debt and the looming crisis that mounting debt presents. Since the end of August, America’s debt as ballooned by $400 billion – 100 billion more dollars than there are stars in the Milky Way Galaxy. For businessman Scott Soucy, stopping this runaway spending is a challenge he is ready to tackle. This jolly fellow has a plan to get America’s lawmakers to the table to address the debt,
|
Comments: It´s a nice concept and he may be "infectiously positive" but I wouldn´t send one more dime to those corrupt politicians until they stop spending money so recklessly. Even if it came with "express instructions that it be applied towards the debt" it would make no difference to those crooks. Sorry, count me out.

How about this:
Ask Americans to quit taking so much welfare. Refuse all those food stamps. Don´t activate the 0bama-phone. Turn the thermostat down when welfare pays the heating bill.
After all, it´s "For the Children."

I think a line is crossed between infectiously positive and certifiably insane. It is not positive to give our government more money, and not positive to pretend otherwise. This exercise also presupposes that the problem with government debt is too little revenue, when clearly the problem is too much spending.

The problem is that it wouldn´t pay down the debt at all because the democ rats would simply spend it on their base.

How about cutting out wasteful spending and donating that amount to debt repayment instead? And other idea--cut taxes for everyone and get the economy going again. If more people are working, tax revenues will increase.

Isn´t only infectious if others get the same illness too? Seriously, I´m supposed to donate more money to this government? For any of you Kansans out there that ever visited Joyland Amusement Park in Wichita during your youth, do you remember the pig´s head in the center of the park that sucked up the trash through its mouth? That´s what I think of every time I hear the government discuss taxes. That trash-sucking pig.

I didn´t create one dime of our enormous debt and I´ve paid taxes all my life without collecting one single day of unemployment so I take no responsibility for paying it back. The government is just like a bitchy ex-wife who maxed out your credit cards and now wants more alimony to pay her bills. If Scotty Boy wants to contribute more, nobody is going to stop him.

I actually believe that if there was a serious crackdown on spending people would donate towards the debt.
Obama just gave federal workers a raise in the face of yet another recession, probably for their support in winning Va.,at least so yeah, there´s no point in sending these reckless goons more money.
Welfare should simply be stopped 9 months from today with no newcomers hopping on the bus.I don´t want to hear this crap about it not being the kid´s fault.Build group homes to warehouse these reckless people if need be.
Obama´s getting ready to throw even more billions down the refinance rathole,in fact if you were foreclosed on,you might qualify for a big payout. It´s pure insanity.

Our national debt is around 100% of GDP. If everyone sent in ALL of their earned income for a year, it still wouldn´t pay off the debt.
The debt is being monetized (through inflation) as you read this. Once a dollar is worth a penny, the value of the debt will only be $160,000 billion.

They (and this Polly Anna) can shove it. They already get too much from me as it is.
Why don´t they encourage people to pay off their own debts - giving themselves more financial stability in times of economic depression? I think they like having people indebted and ignorant. Much easier to control.

If anything, he said, NSA leaker Edward Snowden is the one who committed an abuse. “Of the abuses that [Snowden] claims exist in this program,” Hume continued, “his explanation has been vague to the point of non-existent.” He then told host Chris Stirewalt he doesn’t see anything wrong with what has been revealed about the NSA’s

On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) blocked a vote on the border security amendment to the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill offered by Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA). Grassley was pushing for an up-or-down vote by the Senate on his amendment, which would have required the border to be secured for six full months before any legalization of illegal immigrants in America began. Reid objected to Grassley’s motion, effectively implementing a 60-vote threshold that completely blocked any attempt at a fair vote on the amendment.

The CIA’s deputy director plans to resign and will be replaced by White House lawyer and agency outsider Avril D. Haines, Director John O. Brennan said Wednesday. Haines, who will succeed career officer Michael Morell on Aug. 9, has served for three years as President Obama’s deputy counsel in charge of national security issues and as legal adviser to the National Security Council. Although she has never worked inside the intelligence agency, “she knows more about covert action than anyone in the U.S. government outside of the CIA,” Brennan said in an interview.

The federal surveillance programs revealed in media reports are just "the tip of the iceberg," a House Democrat said Wednesday. Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.) said lawmakers learned "significantly more" about the spy programs at the National Security Agency (NSA) during a briefing on Tuesday with counterterrorism officials. "What we learned in there," Sanchez said, "is significantly more than what is out in the media today." Lawmakers are barred from revealing the classified information they receive in intelligence briefings, and Sanchez was careful not to specify what members might have learned about the NSA´s work.

Franks made the comment during a committee mark-up of his late-term abortion ban bill, which is expected pass the House next week. The Republican lawmaker was arguing against a Democratic amendment allowing rape and incest victims to procure abortions. As written, the bill only exempts women whose lives are in danger. WASHINGTON — A State Department whistleblower has accused high-ranking staff of a massive coverup — including keeping a lid on findings that members of then-Secretary Hillary Clinton’s security detail and the Belgian ambassador solicited prostitutes. A chief investigator for the agency’s inspector general wrote a memo outlining eight cases that were derailed by senior officials, including one instance of interference by Clinton’s chief of staff, Cheryl Mills. Any mention of the cases was removed from an IG report about problems within the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), which provides protection and investigates crimes involving any State Department workers overseas.

In a Gallup tracking poll released Tuesday, former-President George W. Bush currently stands with a favorability rating of 49%, compared to 46% who see the 43rd president unfavorably. Meanwhile, another Gallup poll shows President Obama with only a 47% approval rating, with 44% disapproving. If you think about it, this makes perfect sense. After all, Obama fooled everyone when he ran as the anti-Bush in 2008. Everyone thought Obama meant he would be less hawkish than his predecessor. Edward Snowden should go to jail, as quickly and for as long as possible. This is a leak case that should be difficult for even Eric Holder to bungle. Snowden has already confessed in public to the crime of leaking classified information. He has said in public how he did it, that he did it with intent, and that he knowingly harmed our national security. Holder will finally find a leaker that he can prosecute. But given the Holder Justice Department’s record on the other leak cases, who wants to take a bet
