A New York City woman tried to scam donors by posing as the aunt of a child killed in the Connecticut elementary school massacre, federal authorities said Thursday. Nouel Alba, 37, was arrested Thursday and accused of using her Facebook account, telephone calls and text messages to seek donations for what she called a "funeral fund." She told one donor that she had to enter the scene of the mass shooting in Newtown to identify her nephew, according to the criminal complaint. Alba is charged with lying to FBI agents who were investigating charity scams related to the shooting

I´m glad the FBI is working on scams like this. It´s just too bad the perps can´t have signs hung from their necks in jail telling what they did. That would save a lot of court costs.

The lowest of the low. Imagine lying to someone about having to go into the school and identify the body of your nephew??? It does not get much worse than that. Throw the book at her.

Oportunistic scum, the lowest of the low, looking toprey upon people in a moment of weakness.

The Uncle that told the media Adam Lanza was taking anti-psychotic drugs was a known hoaxter, as well, driving in from another state, making sick videos posted to Facebook. Thank goodness his parole officer recognized him, but not until after the media went full throttle with the Uncle´s alleged story, now retracted.

Too bad, once the story is out, no one hears about retractions. Now, most will just believe it.

Harry Reid’s remark in 2007 that the Iraq War was “lost” while troops were still on the ground was one of the “most disgraceful” things Robert Gates has heard in all his years of public service, Gates told the hosts of Morning Joe on Wednesday. “The troops believed and believe that they were being successful in their mission, so I think they were able, to a certain extent, to set aside the politics here at home,” said the former defense secretary. “Although, and I make the point in the book, when you have somebody like the Senate majority leader come out

How much damage can an egging cause? Apparently about $20,000 if the home that is egged is in the ultra-luxurious neighborhood of Calabasas, Calif., where Justin Bieber lives. The Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department raided the home of the bowl-haired-cutie-turned-troublemaker to try and determine if the singer and his friends pelted eggs at a neighbor’s house, causing damage to its façade. If they determine he did, the 19-year-old may have bigger fish (or eggs) to fry, several lawyers told FOX411. We’ve learned the star could face jail time and even possible deportation—back to Canada. “California does not take vandalism lightly. If the damage

Something special happened Monday on the Rush Limbaugh radio program. Its host set out to explain why conservatives won´t be defending New Jersey Governor Chris Christie during the bridge scandal in the same way that they rallied behind Clarence Thomas during his 1991 nomination to the Supreme Court. And in doing so, Limbaugh provided an unusually frank account of how he and his followers reach snap judgments about what is true and what isn´t true. This monologue laid bare the epistemology of talk-radio "conservatism." The backstory is straightforward enough: George H.W. Bush nominated Thomas to the Supreme Court; Democrats opposed the

The Employment Policies Institute recently released a study on the impact that raising the federal minimum wage to $10.10 will have on the economy. The news is grim, as an estimated 360,000 to 1,084,000 jobs would be eliminated across the country according to the report. Michael Saltsman, research director at the Employment Policies Institute, released a statement noting, “No amount of denial by the President and his political allies- and no number of ‘studies’ published by biased researchers- can change the fact that minimum wage hikes eliminate jobs for low-skill and entry-level employees.
