The mobbed-up ´Waste Management´ companies had more integrity than the current inner city public schools racket.

In BRA this should not be happening. It implies that these black teachers are not very good in the classroom. reading m$m we know that blacks excell at government jobs... something is very wrong here.

Here´s an idea!

How ´bout we do away with all government owned and operated schools - - and let parents pick and pay for the schools to which they want to send their chillun.

How did these unqualified teachers get hired in the first place?

Oh, wait. . .

35% ? The census shows 14% blacks in the USA..so why weren´t more whites, Asians and Hispanics recruited for these jobs in the first place?
Why don´t Chicago parents sue the teachers for non-performance?

Affirmative action allows some minority students to graduate from H.S. without rudimentary skills. And Affirmative action allows some minority students to attend college on scholarships, even though their SATs are terribly low. (SATs predict sucess in the freshman year.)
Affirmative action allows some minority students, already referenced above, to graduate from college without possessing college level skills.
And affirmative action allows some of those students to be hired as teachers in places like chicago, and any other large city with a black population. The argument is that black students have to have role models at the front of the classroom. And some schools of education are pushing for black males to become teachers, to meet the perceived role model need, since a majority of black students reside in women led households, with no daddy in sight, but lots of ´uncles.´
But eventually, the house of cards called affirmative action collapses, as it is collapsing in chicago. And relentless leftists like rahm emanuel come face to face with their convictions - sort of like a Christian Scientist with appendicitis.

If they filled out the forms correctly and documented the problems then this should hold up. Testing for certification is a rather recent requirement and I would guess many of these teachers were among the oldest and longest tenured teachers in the system.

Remember Patrick Chavis. He addmitted that he was unqualified. People wound up dying.

They should know that you cannot fire based upon merit!

You must fire based upon skin color - or you might accidentally discriminate.

Hard as I struggled to remain angry and indignant about this lawsuit, I found myself, in spite of myself, feeling sorry for those responsible for it. I don´t WANT to pity them. I would much rather be angry with them. But it´s no use, because I cannot pull it off. How can one be angry with or fail to feel pity for people as far removed from reality as these plaintiffs? They deserve our help, not our contempt - but of course helping them is a challenging, perhaps and impossible task. They are not willing to be helped because they do not understand that they need help.

This proves that it´s possible to fail the requirements to teach English and math but pass the requirements to teach ebonics.

Sorry Charlie, if you´re not the most qualified candidate, we gotta let ya go....

I worked with so many black women "chair-warmers" in my 25-year stint as a Counselor that it wasnt funny...it was embarassing.They werent the brightest bulbs in the room. And dont call me a sexist or a racist, I am truly telling you the truth...no fake embrace of "diversity" here, just whats best and smartest and creative enough to effectively and successfully teach our students. Period.

How did they EVER get hired ahead of better qualified men and women? You know the answer!

I guess Rahmis showing some level of guts here. he had to know he would get flooded with lawsuits. Imagine being unqualified for a job getting you the grounds for a suit.They´ve let this monster go on too long,patronage,affirmative action,do nothing jobs. The union squeezed a big raise they couldn´t afford,so they had to cut back somewhere. Non-performing people is a good place to start.

This is getting old. Very old And who pays the most? Minority kids.No that anyone really care about them at all. It´s all about lib politics. That´s the truth.

Maybe they got fired because they were incompetent. In NY, if a black shows up on an employment register, you have to hire them whether they´re competent or not.
