Al Sharpton Promotes His Own Upcoming Anti-NRA Political Rally… On MSNBC

| MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton appeared with anchor Thomas Roberts on Thursday to promote his upcoming political rally in opposition to the National Rifle Association. This is not the first time that Sharpton has deliberately blurred the lines between a news anchor and a political activist, and for all the pronouncements that his hiring at MSNBC signaled a cultural shift — with straight broadcast anchors increasingly indulging in evangelism for political causes — Sharpton remains the only news anchor to headline explicitly political rallies. (Snip) “You’re no stranger to the fight to end gun violence,”

Comments: I never thought I would live to see the day where "news anchor" and "Sharpton" were in the same sentence. That station gave up any credibility they may have had years and years ago.

Why hasn´t this black racist rabble rouser taken his anti gun stand to Chicago where young blacks are killing EACH OTHER at a rapid clip DAILY??? This is where the guns are ILLIGAL ( so is murder ) but the authorities are impotent to do anything to stop the carnage but the media fails to raise the issue because Democrats run the place and guns have been banned forever. How´s that working for Chicago??? Solve that meat-grinder first and then come up with LOGICAL suggestions before you open your foolish mouth!!!

If you have a few extra minutes and Internet access try this exercise.
Find out how many illegal shootings occurred in 2012.
Find out how many of those shootings were done by NRA members.
Sharpton is an idiot!

Most amusing! Even as Tawana Brawley makes it back into the news...
While it´s *extremely* politically incorrect to say so - we all owe Al Sharpton a debt of gratitude. As long as he´s around, there´s a legitimate reason for ´people of other races´ to use the ´N´ word to describe a human being.
We´ll have to invent a term to describe the liberal news media that considers him a viable news-blurber - but it´s also amusing as Hades to recall the Democratic party *almost* ran that buffoon for president, and drop dead hysterical to note how many liberals actually think Al´s relevant...

The reason CEO Jeff Immelt hired Sharpton at MSLSD is so he wouldn`t be out protesting at GE headquarters bellyaching about them not paying any taxes.

With the possible exception of their weekend prison shows and caught on tape shows, wouldn´t this explain ANY of the hosts of any MSNBC program (and much of NBC News as well)?

It´s just amazing that a so called news station can be allowed to use itself as a political platform for anything.Sharpton is totally yesterday with only a few bitter clingers still hanging by his side. But MSNBC and CNN using themselves as political activists shows how far the media has gone in the tank for left wing causes.
They´re not going to win the gun argument on a factual basis,so they simply return to the old playbook of thuggery.

Texas Senator John Cornyn has just introduced an amendment to the Gang of 8 bill that is supposed to add more border security to the legislation. But according to ICE Council President Chris Crane, the amendment does nothing to allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents to enforce the law. Crane sent a letter to Senators Cornyn and Rubio Wednesday to express concerns. President Obama took a bachelor´s road trip to Massachusetts Wednesday to help Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Edward Markey, taking advantage of being away from his fit wife to grab a cheesburger lunch. Shortly before noon, Obama and his posse stopped at Charlie´s Sandwich Shoppe (motto: "where hash rules") in Boston´s South End where other politicians like Gov. Deval Patrick and Mayor Tom Menino waited. The pool report noted: "Before leaving the restaurant, the president purchased a cheeseburger and fries for lunch. Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) said Wednesday that the incidence of pregnancy caused by rape is "very low," prompting criticism from Democrats who said the GOP is waging a "war on women." Franks made the comment during a committee mark-up of his late-term abortion ban bill, which is expected pass the House next week. The Republican lawmaker was arguing against a Democratic amendment allowing rape and incest victims to procure abortions. As written, the bill only exempts women whose lives are in danger. "You know, the incidence of rape resulting in pregnancy are very low," Franks said.

Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Wednesday he expects to move “bipartisan” immigration reform to the House floor, even as the Senate moves forward with its bill to grant eventual citizenship to 11 million illegal aliens. The Senate voted 82-15 to allow debate on a bill that will grant legal status to illegal aliens before securing the border. Sen. New revelations about the National Security Agency´s surveillance programs have divided members of Congress and of the media apart from the normal partisan split. One person who isn´t surprised about the lack of Democrats and liberals in the media challenging the Obama administration, however, is the man who has broken multiple stories based off leaks from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden — Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald. Greenwald told Business Insider late Tuesday night that he thinks some left-leaning members of the media — such as Time magazine´s Joe Klein and The New Yorker´s Jeffrey Toobin — have

Young teens at a pricey Upper West Side private school were asked to write first-person suicide notes — a macabre assignment that some of their parents have blasted as “inappropriate.” The English-class homework at York Prep required students as young as 14 to write goodbye missives from the perspective of a character who offs herself in “The Secret Life of Bees,” a best-selling book and film. The task included justifying why they had committed suicide, a grim process that rattled a few nerves. “We were pretty stunned at the scope of the assignment,” said a father of a ninth-grade

To say that there is disgust growing in the ranks is an understatement. If adults who broke the law to come here illegally get citizenship, it will be a spit in the face of millions of legal immigrants who followed the rules, and many millions more who wait patiently on the other side of the oceans and borders. It will sent a message of lawlessness which will encourage more lawlessness. Marco Rubio and others are imploding the party to achieve Chuck Schumer’s dream. Lawmakers who want access to classified information have to ask for it. But that doesn’t mean they’ll get it. [WATCH VIDEO] While government contractors such as NSA leaker Edward Snowden and others with high-level security clearances can view classified government secrets, members of Congress face a much tougher burden: consent from their peers. Some members of Congress are grumbling that the Obama administration left them in the dark about the existence of far-reaching spy programs. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick often has spoken with admiration for Tebow's versatility, intelligence and character. WASHINGTON — A State Department whistleblower has accused high-ranking staff of a massive coverup — including keeping a lid on findings that members of then-Secretary Hillary Clinton’s security detail and the Belgian ambassador solicited prostitutes. A chief investigator for the agency’s inspector general wrote a memo outlining eight cases that were derailed by senior officials, including one instance of interference by Clinton’s chief of staff, Cheryl Mills. Any mention of the cases was removed from an IG report about problems within the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), which provides protection and investigates crimes involving any State Department workers overseas.

In a Gallup tracking poll released Tuesday, former-President George W. Bush currently stands with a favorability rating of 49%, compared to 46% who see the 43rd president unfavorably. Meanwhile, another Gallup poll shows President Obama with only a 47% approval rating, with 44% disapproving. If you think about it, this makes perfect sense. After all, Obama fooled everyone when he ran as the anti-Bush in 2008. Everyone thought Obama meant he would be less hawkish than his predecessor. The president demonstrated leadership that night in that State of the Union address by making it clear that he doesn´t see extreme heat waves, powerful storms like Hurricane Sandy, the most severe drought in decades and the worst wildfires ever in some states as just weird coincidences. He demonstrated leadership by calling out Congress, saying if it doesn´t act soon, he will take executive
