Full summary posted below: Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of: • 120 specifically-named firearms • Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic • Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed

Hopefully,....here´s an easy one Mr. Speaker. May I respectfully suggest you not only decline the Madam Senator´s submission. But instead offer to not only not ban any gun models, but would also like to offer a law that recognizes any and all local gun restrictions as unconstitutional and hence invalid. And further that all low income people that can not afford a gun will be given one along with proper training. And that lastly concealed carry will become the law of the land. That is a start of a bargaining position. Even though you can´t bargain inalienable rights. Respectfully, if the Liberals want to ban guns, have them start the process to repeal the 2nd amendment.

This might not pass in its present form, but Republicans might negotiate it down to banning only 60 and two military characteristics. Boehner couldn´t even repeal a light bulb ban, so I don´t trust him on this either.

I don´t expect ivory tower DC types to grasp this concept but banning a specific product simply means it will reappear in modified, legal form soon thereafter. The factory and raw materials are still there. Changing a group or a barrel shroud is a simple matter.

Quit saying that this will NEVER happen.
The only thing stopping it today is a one vote majority in the Supreme Court (and after the nØbamacare fiasco, I don´t have that much confidence that that is set in stone at this point).
But let NØbama flip one conservative justice and the Constitution is dead. Then nothing the lie-berals have had wet dreams bout for years will be out of the question.

Best hope no one holding a swing vote on this has a skeleton in their closet.
Remind your representatives about your states´ 10 th ammendment. If they didn´t reaffirm when Obama got elected, now might be a good time! I especially liked the one telling Obama by name to cease and desist. Think it was Washington State or Wyoming.
Other states should follow their lead. Let the blue states have their gun free zones and the rest should go all Kennesaw Ga. on them and require every citizen that is legally able to own a gun. Then, compare crime statistics.
I know, I can wish.

Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment
Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include: • Background check of owner and any transferee; • Type and serial number of the firearm; • Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint; • Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and • Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration
sounds like compliance would make subsequent confiscation mighty easy. See Doug Hagmann´s interview...

Excellent question #16. I´d also like to know how many shares her, her staff, and friends of friends have on (and type-long or short) in the firearm manufacturers, and when they were put on. Seeing the recent poll and lack of support for a hand-gun ban. I´d hate to think the Senator was just posturing and then profiting from this tragedy. But, the dog´s not barking so it might be best to check. Hate to consider it, but the temptations are great and I´m sure the Senator and her staff have nothing to hide regarding trading on inside information...so better safe than sorry.

If the Democrats monkey around with this overreaching proposal for very long without deepsixing it, a lot of them are not going to get re-elected in the coming off year elections. They know that as you can already see that the specific Democrats who will be pushing this were just re-elected in November or will not be running again for four years. It will be the same thing that happened to the Democrats the last time they pushed gun control, they will loose big.

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
