Old fashioned candy store
threatened with fine

Owners of an old-school soda shop in St. Paul, Minnesota, have been warned to kick the habit and stop stocking novelty candy cigarettes. City inspectors threatened a misdemeanor citation and $500 fine if Lynden´s soda fountain is caught selling the fake smokes again. The Star Tribune reported on Wednesday that the offering violated an ordinance barring the sale of candy smokes and cartoon character lighters, which has been in place for nearly three years.A city spokesman said the warning came after inspectors received and looked into a complaint about the presence of the tobacco-themed products.

In light of all the other things we have to worry about with our kids this one has got to rank at the bottom of the list! Liberals are just plain nuts over the control of other people´s lives and money!

This great nation is quickly becoming a joke because of the silly people running it & the stupid people that put them there. Reminds me of the study of 5 monkeys put in a cage with a banana. The complete government needs to be replaced & that includes all the little bureaucrats sitting at their desks pushing papers. The whole system needs to be destroyed, like chemo on cancer.

This is a very small shop right accross the street from Cretin High School. For those of you not from Minnesota, these are the types of laws that the left continues to give us.
I hope this gives this shop a lot of publicity so they get a huge influx of revenue.

There is a wonderful 5 &10 store in western New York that sells all kinds of nostalgic items. Here´s the owner, Don Vidler, in his commercial for candy cigarettes: http://tinyurl.com/d7lw9qn

These are just plain great people who have captured a marketing niche by offering a wide variety of necessities, nostalgia, and clever ads. I think I´ll send the cigarette ad to those idiots in St. Paul. Along with this blast from the past, with deadpan Bev as Don´s sidekick. http://tinyurl.com/cxm5da5

Enjoy!

Will the 1930 - 1950 period movies shown on Turner Classic / TCM be airbrushed to remove offensive cigarettes? The actor´s hand would move to/from his lips but there would be no visible cigarette, just the physical movements of mouth, jaw and fingers. Would be just as weird as banning candy cigarettes.

Or, perhaps a new motion picture rating could be applied, C, meaning anyone under the legal age of smoking would be banned from watching,

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made a surprise appearance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” Wednesday night where she joined host Jimmy Fallon in a skit mocking President Barack Obama’s weakness. In the skit, Fallon played Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone conversation with Palin. “You shoot bear? I prefer hand to hand combat,” Fallon says, playing Putin. “Well, you see, that’s why everyone says you’re such a strong leader,” Palin replies. “Well, I come from strong jeans,” Fallon’s Putin retorts. “President Obama — he come from mom jeans.” Both Palin and the faux Putin then erupt in laughter. Big donors, leaders of political parties and candidates with access to wealthy supporters will be the biggest beneficiaries of the Supreme Court decision issued on Wednesday, a ruling that could fundamentally reshape the political terrain in the 2014 elections and beyond. Election experts predicted a surge of new money into congressional campaigns and political parties, expanding the world of high-dollar fund-raising now dominated by “super PACs” and big-spending political nonprofit groups. The decision effectively eradicates a major campaign finance restriction brought about in the aftermath of the Watergate scandal, the cap on the total amount any one person can give

Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012.
